Character Design Rendering - Azhen
Character Sheet
Chair
Polygon Primitives Ten Building Exercise
I used a webflow template as the foundation for this website and it from there, I had some issues with the configuring the background, but other than that it went pretty smoothly. I can definitely see myself using this program more often in the future.
Week 10 - Mo Amin Archive
Explore a visual chronicle of frontline photojournalist Mo Amin's archive with the help of machine learning.
The Mo Amin Archive is one of the coolest photojournalist archives I have seen. Decades of history all compiled into one comprehensive website.
This is a flag design for a korean drama I am invested in called "When Life Gives You Tangerines". It has yet to fully release all their episodes, however, I have simplified the flag design to be as noticeable inside and outside the fandom as much as possible.
Week 9 - Google
Women's College Basketball Tournament First Round 2025! #GoogleDoodle
Google has hands down the best website design across the internet. I love how they have hidden easter eggs for special things you search and a beautifully tailored design for their logo for every celebrated event. The iconic google search site with nothing but a search bar and some components to help you navigate Google's services is something that is in my opinion underrated and overlooked.
The top are the original MyFerrari app screens for (left to right) Home, Garage, and Events. Where they are on brand with the black and red color pallet with sleek modern atheistic, my bottom designs, that correspond to the pages above them respectfully, are catering to a more contour line art aesthetic. The beige and browns suit a more eco-friendly atmosphere (cardboardy).
Week 8 - Digital Gradient Garden
Digital Gradient Garden
In a previous course, I was shown this creative website that resembled a social media platform but without the stereotypical grid format. You can move things around and they would interactive with the webpage's environment. It is very creative and had played a huge role in inspiring my final project for the course.
For my webpages I decided to redesign Ferrari's landing screen and the far left is the original design, my screenshot doesn't quite do them justice as they have high quality videos playing as you land on their page. The middle design is catered to appear more analytical and professional while keeping to their sleek/clean branding. I really wanted to emphasize their luxurious and regal image. To the right, I thought it would be an interesting contrast to cater towards children with a playful and brighter color pallet. It differs a lot from the original and my first design because not only did I go for a completely different mood, but a target audience that luxury sports car would never be directed to, children. It kind of came out looking like a video game screen which was a nice surprise.
Week 7 - Lamborghini Website
Lamborghini Official Website: find Lamborghini models, new releases, latest news, events, and the dealers across the world
I think Lamborghini has one of the cleanest and slickest sports car website design for their brand. Not only does it exude the luxury and prestige that is associated with their luxurious cars, but their clear organization throughout their page is highly accessible.
Class Character - Dog/Cat/Wood Sculpture thing
I think my best work are from the first batch of designs I created (beige and grayscale) simply because they were more experimental and came out more simplistic with a lot of negative space whereas the more I created the busier I got and the more cluttered the designs were. I began playing more with the typography choices rather than the design and that was when it began becoming more artwork like.
Week 6 - Duolingo
Learn languages by playing a game. It's 100% free, fun, and scientifically proven to work.
Duolingo's mobile design is one of the most engaging and illustrative technological app I have ever encountered. From their iconic mascot of a green owl to their customized advertisement that albeit annoying are super creative in promoting their membership to the user. The most satisfying aspect I think besides the micro interactions with the buttons and learning points are the strategically manipulative tactics that empowers the user to continue learning. Specifically the fire that re-lights itself after completing a lesson for the day makes you feel accomplished.
Week 5 - Introducing a conceptual movie poster called "Take. It. Down."
What is this movie about? Dragons taking over the world. I had the most trouble figuring out what text to put to make it seem like a bonafide movie poster, and I know it is missing some blocky text called the billing block, but I didn't want the overall poster to be covered in random words I put together. I was really trying to go for an impactful scene with the negative spaces and dramatic color contrast.
