I don't know why I just... never posted this, my other GIANT piece I made for @worldofthedas-vol3 last year!
Truly, I don't know what compelled me to pitch an illustration with 6 characters, all wearing different outfits, but I did and I made the deadline. Really pleased with the colors in this piece and how unique all these fun-lovin pirates look!
Some western-inspired Poison Ivy art I made a few weeks ago and forgot to post!
There’s some aspects of this I like, there’s some things I don’t, but overall I love the vibe and design, especially her big puffy sleeves that look like barrel cacti.
I feel like Ivy would be a bounty hunter in this AU that would go after asshole men and hogtie them with like a living vine whip. I have ideas in mind for Harley and Selina as well, but we’ll see if I ever get around to those ;__;

Genuinely very proud of how yummy this soup looks! Ingredients are inspired by a few different South Eastern Asian recipes as that was the inspo behind a lot of Rivian and I wanted something that could be really colorful.
I didn't know if this was going to end up in the Rivain chapter or the recipes section, but I hid a tiny fish head in there as a nod to the recipe illustrations in the original World of Thedas book!

This one ended up being my secret favorite of the pieces I made.
My pitch for this was to show the mixing of cultures thru time in Rivain with an old, overgrown statue sitting in the shadow of a banner from Antaam invaders. Love the colors and style I ended up using for this one and how it fit into the page. And man, I just love drawing foliage, yk.

Think this was one of the last pieces I made, but I'm so happy I got to snatch up this assignment since Tassh's design is *chef's kiss* and it was legit just like, Fun To Make. I *did* have to redraw their face probably 8 times... and also god those axes at that angle was a killer, but hey, still fun!

Happy Dragon Age Day! Here's one of my big pieces I made for @worldofthedas-vol3!
I got assigned to the Rivian chapter and was *very* excited to paint any sort of Pirate-y thing I could. The concept for this one started as just a mural depicting a Lords of Fortune story, but evolved into this: a mural of a water dragon protecting a ship being painted above the Lords' massive treasure hoard (you know, so Isabela can swim in gold like Scrooge McDuck lol).
This piece really pushed me out of my comfort zone since I'm not much of a painter imo, but I love how it turned out! The group consensus was that the treasure looks extremely edible and honestly what a compliment.

Been wanting to do some illustrations that feel a bit more like variant covers and i *also* wanted to mess around with that new set of Procreate brushes that came in the update and what’s a better test subject than my guy Bats, here.
Pretty pleased with how this turned out and def was very inspired by the Jimenez suit design in the new Batman run. Also pro tip: don’t draw fire escapes if you can help it.

Been busy working away on my pieces for @worldofthedas-vol3 and here's a little preview of a few of them!
I ended up turning in 8 pieces, I don't know how many will make it into the final book, but I will share all of them in full when the time comes. I gave myself a goal of trying a different style with every piece and while some of them are similar, I am proud that I was able to render quite a few different looks for the finals.
It's been great hanging out with DA fans again and meeting more artists and writers in the space. I can't wait to see the final product with my eyes and then share the final book with you!

Just finished my Veilguard poster to match the Inquisition one I made a while ago!! I love it!!
Wanted the swirls to be sort of akin to Blight Stuff™ and man, were they weirdly cathartic to paint. Love playing with the negative space with these, idk it's just fun. Highly recommend just like makin' stuff in these trying times.

Been very obsessed for a long time with the idea of Batman having a teeny, tiny baby Robin that's like, the size of a 2 liter bottle of soda. Also like, of course Bats would make a tiny batmobile for his tiny baby, he's a very loving father okay.

Outfit sketches for my Rook, Vasari Laidir, plus a short lil comic. I headcanon that she got her big eye scar after a confrontation with Ghil at the end of the Hossberg double dragon quest, Harding is trying to figure out how to be honest about it still.

Happy Dragon age Day, I have a new DA Piece up today! Made for a new interview/piece with Jepler and Corinne about end game decisions, lore, the future, etc.
The writer/interviewer and I brainstormed three tarot cards to inspire each section of this piece as well as the past, present, and future like you would see in a tarot reading. The death of the titans is 9 of Swords and represents the past. Solas is the Hierophant and represents the present. And the Executors are The Tower and represents the future.
Overall im really pleased with how this turned out despite the fact that I had like 2 days to do this one again b/c I was going to work on it over thanksgiving and then... just did not lol. Tried my best to match the style of Solas' murals in DATV and had a great time with all the little details.
Also huge shoutout to the folks who made the Elven font, I had a great time using it!!

Nine of Swords
Primarily, it represents mental anguish, stress and anxiety that overwhelm and adversely affect life. In this specific card, the stress is caused by external factors (unlike the Eight of Swords, where the source is presumed to be self-sabotage). In traditional Raider-Waite, the swords are aligned from left to right, suggesting unprocessed problems of the past casting shadows on the future. It can also mean, more palpably, insomnia or sleepless nights - which seems apt as an allusion to Titans having lost their Dreams and their spiritual peace.
(Also, Wild Unknown, you didn't have to have that jawbone on the card lol)
The Hierophant
Represents the aspect of power that is institutional and often legitimized in divinity, that manifests itself as traditional religion, dogma and moral authority (unlike The Emperor who seizes the mundane aspects of power). In both presented decks, the Hierophant holds a key that symbolizes the mandate of knowledge and moral authority. The Hierophant provides a structure and purpose that places standards and expectations on the individual. However, the card is also linked to influences that are resistant to change, stifling, defending status quo for its own sake. It's interesting that Solas is placed there after the entire ordeal, remaining effectively the last stand-in for the Evanuris. No matter how hard he denies the absolute nature of the divine position, he is there, left to bear the responsibility for the state of the world.
(I believe the inclusion of the raven/crow and thunder in The Wild Unknown variant alludes to Odin, though to be honest that bird looks more like a ruffled starling to me)
The Tower
The Tower is the staple card of distaster. But what is common about its interpretations, the disaster is inevitable in the long run because the crumbling construction was built on questionable or feeble foundations. More spiritual interpretations view the Tower as "productive destruction" that purifies what no longer can survive through fire and enforces tough lessons. Here, we're connected with the implied teleological insight of the Executors and their ability to subtly manipulate history towards desired outcomes. At the same time, we're reminded of Flemeth's remarks of a greater fate, as if she had the same kind of insight. All in all, the fatalistic aura of the setting intensifies: was Thedas doomed all along, and everyone's "left to find they're out of time, left to watch it all unwind"?
