Sorry for the lack of story updates this month. I needed to take a small break from it because I could feel myself burning out already and I didn’t want that to happen at all.
I’ve got all the screenshots I need for the next chapter. All I need to do is write it which usually takes the longest, but it shouldn’t take too long (I hope).
Here’s a little teaser for the next chapter:

Chapter 1.3: Shades of Gray
Welcome to Chapter 1.3: Shades of Gray. Last time, the twins, Eddie and Michael, were born, and they along with their older sister, Sydney, ended the chapter as children. Max and August realized that Sydney “knows things” she shouldn’t. And Max dreamt about his mother.
Warnings for a little bit of coarse language and lots of conversations.
It was the weekend after Michael and Eddie’s first official day of school, and as soon as they could, all three of the kids ran outside to play. The air smelled like snow and a cold breeze stung their faces, but they didn’t care.
“What d’you want to play?” Michael asked Eddie. Sydney had already commandeered the swingset the second they stepped foot outside, so swinging was out.
“Cops and Robbers?” Eddie asked hopefully. He mimed shooting a gun with his hand.
“I don’t want to play Cops and Robbers,” Eddie said. “Last time we played, you cheated.”
“I did not! You cheated! You’re the one who got up after I shot you dead!”
“I told you, I was a zombie robber.”
“Zombies don’t exist. You can’t be something that doesn’t exist.”
“I was just pretending.”
Michael placed his hands on his hips and sighed. “I bet if there was more snow we could find something to do.”
Eddie nodded. “Then we could build snowmen or make snow angels!”
“Or have a snowball fight.”
“I’d totally kick your butt.”
Michael ignored that comment. “Why isn’t there more snow? It’s winter! There should be more snow!”
At those words, Sydney leapt off the swing and started towards the boys.
“You guys want more snow?” she asked them. “I bet I can make it snow.”

Sims 2 Crashing - FIXED!
Hey penguins, wanted to follow up with my previous post about my Sims 2 crashing and the tricks I used to get it working again! Since applying them, I haven’t had one crash or purple flashing since! (At this point, I have played the game several hours, switched households multiple times and loaded a ton of lots to make sure the issues are gone)
============================================================= Tip#1: Make sure to check that your Graphics Card is listed in the Video Cards.sgr files in your Sims 2 installation folder! If not, use the Graphics Rules Maker , add your GPU to the list and double-check that it HAS been added there (I had problems with this and had to do it manually in the end!). Make sure to copy the new Graphics Rules AND Video Cards files to both folders in the installation location (Config and CSConfig).
Tip #2: Make sure that you have to correct texture memory amount assigned for your game! If you haven’t already, run DxDiag on your computer ( https://support.microsoft.com/en-us/help/4028644/windows-open-and-run-dxdiagexe ) , click “Save all info” on the bottom and save it on your desktop. Open and check your Display Memory under “Display Devices”. That Display Memory is the amount you need to change for your Graphic Rules-files. Tip #3: If you have applied the “4 gig patch”, make sure that it is working properly. Check your Documents > EA Games > The Sims 2 > Logs folder and open a file called “COMPUTERNAME-config-log”. If the memory under “Machine info” (top of the list) is anything less than 4000MB (mine says 4096 MB), the patch hasn’t been fully applied. Tip #4: Especially if you are playing on Windows 10, make sure to do the Memory Allocation Fix that Jessa shows in the video above! You NEED this! This fix also helps Windows 7 users!!
Tip #5: (Not sure if this is necessary after applying #4, but I did it before I fixed the memory leak issue and didn’t have any crashes after that either) Make sure your Virtual Memory amount is set high enough in Control Panel > System > Advanced settings > Advanced tab > Performance settings > Advanced > Virtual Memory. Set the custom amount for your main drive to be 25,000-30,000 and click “Set”. === Thanks so much to Gina for this tip!===

I’m listing here all the tricks I did both for you guys and for myself aswell, in case I need to go through this whole thing again at some point in the future (after switching Graphics Cards, which thankfully won’t happen in a few years!). Hopefully it’ll be useful and helpful for you guys!

VERY USEFUL!
So I tried the 4 GB Patch thing and I now have less than 1000 MB of free memory according to the log (when I had more before I did it). I did everything the video said to do to get it to work and turned off compatibility and it’s even worse now. I don’t know what to do or how to fix it. Can anyone help, please?

Through the Ages: A Legacy Story Chapter 1.2
Welcome back to Through the Ages: A Legacy Story!
Last chapter, legacy founder, Antillar Maximus Gaiman (or Max for short) literally fell from the sky.

Dearest Diary, Max wrote. Things are going quite well.
I’m married now and a father! My wife, August, is the best wife ever! Not that I have much experience with wives or anything, but she’s really great. And Sydney, my daughter, is an absolute delight. Cutest baby ever!
I love that little girl so very much.
So does August. Sydney is already so spoiled, but she deserves it.
The thing is though, I still can’t remember anything from Before the Fall.
But I’ve been having this dream. A nightmare, really. Actually, it’s more like a memory. I haven’t told August yet because I don’t want to worry her.

Sims 2 Crashing Help?
I have the Sims 2 UC through Origin, and it keeps crashing before it even starts loading. I’ve taken out my downloads and my legacy hood, I’ve put the original lights files back in, I’ve uninstalled SimPE, the Clean Installer, the Scriptorium, and CEP, I’ve taken out my userstartup.cheat file, I’ve used the Origin repair function, and I’ve uninstalled and reinstalled the game, and nothing is helping. What else can I do? I’m at a loss. I just want to play my game. I do have the discs, but then I get issues with Securom and Windows 10 not being compatible which is why I got the UC through Origin in the first place (thankfully, it was free). I do play on a laptop, but it played just fine last night, but for some reason it’s crashing today, and I don’t understand why.
Sydney is so dang cute.

EXTRACTED ITEMS: BASE GAME
requires base game + moveobjects on + omsp.
here’s a bunch of deco objects extracted from in game. includes things like dishes & cookingware, kids toys, bathroom & cleaning supplies AND all of the service/career vehicles.
some things are even interactable and have slots, but most of it is only deco.

This is such a cool concept except that it caused the newspaper to completely glitch up meaning Sims couldn’t interact with any on the lot nor could the paperperson even deliver any new ones, plus any Sim who can read the newspaper on the toilet suddenly couldn’t go to the bathroom anymore. I love this so much, I just wish it didn’t cause such a nasty glitch.
Legacy Founder
This is Antillar Maximus Gaiman, my new legacy founder!
The basis for this legacy is that I’m naming Sims (and pretty much everything) after my favorite characters and actors and authors, etc. Antillar Maximus (or Max for short) is named after a character in Jim Butcher’s Codex Alera series. In the series, Max is tough, loyal, and pretty much a Popularity/Romance Sim. My founder’s last name was taken from one of my favorite authors Neil Gaiman.
Max, here, is a Popularity/Romance Sim. He has 5 Messy/Neat points, 7 Shy/Outgoing, 4 Lazy/Active, 4 Serious/Playful, and 5 Grouchy/Nice.
When I thought about writing another legacy story (and it’s going to be a full-on story, which I’m really excited about, haha), I considered extracting some playable and townies from other neighborhoods and adding them as townies in the legacy neighborhood and to have my heirs only marry them. While I’m still making them into townies, I’m letting my sims marry whomever they want instead of forcing them to marry from a strict selection of sims.
Anyway, I’m hoping to have the first chapter up sometime in the next week (if I can stop myself from playing to actually write and take the staged pictures, that is)!
