evaluation question 5
Evaluation question 6
Evaluation question 7
editing the title of the double page spread. I made it look more rough edged to reflect the content of the interview and the artists personality.
double page spread questions:
• Hi Niamh! So let’s start off by talking about your new album. There are so many questions about this amazing new album which you just released called ‘Hide away’. What was your inspiration for this album?
Thank you, yeah I put a lot of blood sweat and tears into this new album as it is my first after my break. I was very scared to release it as I was soo unsure if my fans would still like the new me and my new music, but I have has soo many great reviews about it and couldn’t be happier. My inspiration for this was mainly my break, all of the lyrics in this album are all the challenges I had faced during my 3 year break.
• You’ve had a long time off, as you said three years. How has that helped and given you a boost to already becoming the break through artist of the year?
I would have to say my fans which I consider to be my friends and also my family. Having that strong support and positivity and motivation behind you is always great. They all helped me realise that to have a great album and music you just have to be yourself and that’s what I have learnt from being away, it clearly as paid off.
• On the subject of friends and family, during your 3 year break you created your own family. Congratulations on your baby boy! I’m sure many women look up to you and want to know your secret to how you are able to balance your huge carer and being a mum.
Thank you soo much, I am so blessed to have such an amazing and healthy baby boy and I couldn’t ask for more. My life has just changed around so much. Having a great new family and also a great carer is more than I couldn’t ever ask for. I guess knowing your priority is key in this industry and also keeping them separate, keeping your family life and work life apart is one way I am able to juggle it all. I have definitely been treasuring more the times we have together as a family.
• What’s your favourite song in this new album and why?
That’s a good question, I don’t think I really have an all-time favourite; I keep it up to my fans to decide which is their favourite. This album is for them to enjoy and to relate.
• After every successful album there is always a tour. Any clues to if there will be one or even when?
Tour yes. There will be a tour very soon. I haven't actually told anyone about this but I am going to tour with a band, my own band. Poison and I are touring this summer across the UK and perhaps in some festivals this summer.
• Exclusive here only on the stage! Can’t wait to see you up on stage again and now with your new band. Are you excited?
Yes definitely excited, I can’t wait to get back on the road and to also be able to see all my fans again and share my music live. I want to also include my family and will hopefully be able to bring them along with me to experience the amazing life on the road and the wonderful energy and festivals.
omposition and layout of my double page spread
This is the picture for double page spread. I wanted this picture to be more relaxed and also something that conveys the life of a singer/song writer and tis picture shows her in her element.
final font page music magazine cover
Instead of using another secondary image of ripped paper i was able to create my own.
This is the bar code which will be placed on the bottom right hand side of my cover page. It is the only secondary picture i will be using , in which i found on the internet.
Photo for cover page. Me meeting a band member from we the kings three years ago. we the kings are often see in rock magazines such as kerrange.
Cover page draft after photoshop and masthead of my music magazine. Having the grey background makes a better contrast background option compared to all white. However i did what to make the masthead stand out more, by placing a white background.
