Bartle’s Player Types for Gamification: In GTA V

The Achiever:

The players who are acheivers in GTA tend to take on all the racing and shooting challenges and perks and trophies.

The Explorer:

Due to its opened world there is a lot to cover, explorers will take on a challenge to discover hidden places and travel through the map.

The Socializer:

This section is found in GT Online where friends create a group and take on various challenges and Heists, they have to work together to rob banks. Or they can team up and kill other player for fun.

The Killer:

Can be found in single player and Multiplayer. In singleplayer you can shoot people who is walking down the street or enemies during a mission. In multiplayer players can shoot each other either in a deathmatch or anywhere they want in a match. They are competitve players.

Crawl is an 8 bit style dungeon crawler game. 4 players play against each other, 1 of these 4 players is a human Hero that slays monsters. The others are ghosts that will take forms of a monster. The aim of the Human is to stay alive and defeat the final boss. The monster’s aim is to kill the Hero to take its place. So the one who makes the final blow will be the Hero. I play this game all the time with my brother and cousins, even tough the graphics aren’t realistic because its an 8 bit style game and it doesn’t tell you the story of the game it still immerses us. Its because that the game is fast paced and each role is important. Each monster is Unique with sets of skills, so the players have to think before they act otherwise they will be killed and miss the chance to kill the Human. That said Mechanical Immersion makes the game immerseful. There are various selection of abilities for both monster and Hero. The monsters can choose from different monster and the human has to buy abilities and weaponry that he/she acquired during the game.
