okay, so i must admit that i went into reading this work with a slightly apprehensive feeling. socially, we are conditioned to believe that age gaps are somewhat scandalous - predatory looking the older and reckless looking at the younger. however, i think it is important to constantly challenge the way we think and constantly look at the world from the point of view of others (fictional or not.)Â
this is why i loved reading this work.
initially, i was constantly thinking to myself âwhat if jimin is left alone after jungkook inevitably dies before him?â, which i learned to dismiss when i discovered the CHEMISTRY this iteration of jikook has! there was also something so realistic about the writing style. both protagonists were so well-written with sufficient depth (however i wouldâve loved to know more about jungkook and his path to becoming a CEO). this iteration of jimin blew me away because of his maturity, intelligence and wit (i totally get why jungkook would fall in love with him). as for jungkook, the writerâs characterisation made him enthralling and ridiculously attractive (inside and out :0).
additionally, the slightly more *steamy* scenes were exquisitely written - we love to see a healthy and realistic sexual relationship that is mutually respectful.
if iâm gonna be rEALLY picky, some more side yoonjin wouldâve lifted this work to the next level - their chemistry as a couple was only touched upon but i was SOLD!
nevertheless, this was a really enjoyable work that was the perfect length; easy to read; perfectly predictable for the genre and SO ENTERTAINING!Â
