“yikes. someone woke up on the wrong side of the bed this mornin’, huh? what’s up your butt, ya grump?”

❝ah i see, how delightfully vague, i suppose you enjoy keeping up a mysterious facade? anyway, it’s nice to meet you. if you should ever need anything car related i work over at rusty’s autobody shop.❞
“i wouldn’ say it has anythin’ to do with mystery. my uh - PURPOSE - in this town jus’ ain’t somethin’ i advertise.”
caballero, edy:
“If you touch my hair again, I’ll break your fuckin’ hand.”
“can’ help myself, i’m sorry. no need to go ‘round threatening to break anythin.”
faye, cara:
❝you’re truly too kind. thank you though, it’s nice to see a friendly face, i’ve been gone for much too long. i don’t remember meeting you either, are you new here as well?❞
“nah, darlin’. been ‘round these parts much longer than i like to admit. i just ten’ to do my work more - uh - behind the scenes. call me a night owl, if ya will.”
faye, cara:
❝can’t say i’m thrilled to be back here but hey the booze is decent and i suppose you can call this place HOME.❞
“well darlin’, let me be the firs’ to say welcome back. don’ think we’ve met before, but i’m sure i’d remember seein’ someone as stunnin’ as yourself walkin’ these parts.”
miller, faith:
Her grin wavered from her face for only a second as he begun to look around and almost seemed hesitant. It fell from her face completely at the mention of what he was looking for, only to pop back onto her face a moment later, albeit a nervous smile this time. “Well, the ‘tampon things,’” she quoted, not in a mean or mocking way, but more out of amusement she didn’t entirely wish to admit to. “-would be in the women’s health aisle, that third one there. And the, uh, others are all the way in the back.” There wasn’t much selection; if her mother had had her way, they wouldn’t be sold here at all. Faith couldn’t help but wonder if it was morally wrong to profit off of someone else’s sins, but her father certainly didn’t. She was almost just as awkward as him, letting out a few anxious giggles while speaking.
The uncomfortableness of this all was so thick in the air that Julian could practically cut it with a knife. He awkwardly cleared his throat and gave the blonde a curt nod, heading in the direction of the first item he needed to acquire. He was usually the most charming man possible, but this whole situation had him on edge, the man hardly being able to find the right words to make the whole thing easier on them both. “I, uh, haven’ seen ya behind the counter before,” he called out to her, his eyes focused on the far too many boxes of women’s hygiene products neatly lined up before him, “then again, i guess i don’ come in here too often. you own the place?” It was the worst small talk he could manage, but it was better than the deafening silence he felt as he perused around the tampon aisle with her in the corner of his peripheral.
hcvefcith:
Faith sat behind the counter at the drug store her family owned, fingers idly flipping through the pages of the religious book, a self-proclaimed guide on living ‘your holiest life.’ She hadn’t had a customer in the past twenty five minutes and she was drowning in boredom. As the bells on the doors signified another person, she immediately perked up, a huge grin making its way onto her face with her newfound interest. “Hello! Is there anything I can help you find?” Her father had warned her against ‘pestering’ the customers but she reasoned she was just attentive.
Julian had only come to the drug store in town for one thing, something he personally didn’t even want to buy, but what his boss’ told him was law around Legs and he found himself with no choice. Stepping timidly into the shop, the man froze immediately when a bright voice rang out across the small business and filled him with dread. Fuck. Of course there would be an overly helpful cashier waiting to help him fulfill his shopping needs. “Uh...i need a few items,” he began slowly, attempting to look around nonchalantly as he tried muster up a fairly casual demeanor, “Could ya kindly point me n’ the direction of them tampon things women wear ‘nd condoms if ya got ‘em?”
jones, emily:
It was late. Probably too late for the preacher’s daughter to be out at night but she had just finished up with a women’s study group at her church and she was on her way home. Usually she got a ride with another woman but she was out sick that day. Feeling uneasy as she started off the long walk home she gripped her books tightly. Someone was following her….
it was a usual work night for julian, the man stumbling out of his third and final home for the evening with a fresh wad of high numbered bills tucked neatly into his jean pocket. as he slid his jacket back over his firm shoulders and began his trek home, he took in a deep breathe of the fresh air. he could feel a slight ache beginning to develop in his lower back, a sign that he’d maybe gone a little too hard that day, but it was worth having several hundreds tucked neatly into his calvin’s by lonely house wives.
it was only about a fifteen minute walk to his apartment, one he often made this time of night, but for the first time he spotted someone else along his path. it was a pretty blonde, a rare yet refreshing change from the usual drunk biker he usually encountered. julian knew better than to approach this girl, especially given that it was late and she was alone in a sketchy ass town, but temptation overruled common sense almost always when it came to his narrow minded little brain.
“ya lost, darlin’?” he called out to the girl, picking up his pace to fall in step with her. she was visibly tense, that much was clear, but julian had zero negative intentions - at least not of the murdering or physically harmful type. “really shouldn’ be walkin’ round this late by yourself.”
