Ivy was absolutely robbed of a collection, and the only outfits she does have go for WAY too much on ebay. Instead, I got her some pretty earrings on etsy, a cheongsam from Chinatown, a little doll to be Li Ming, and printed out the picture from her family and a lai see 🧧

My friend got Blaire White and she and my jly doll are dating. We like dressing them up in matching time period outfits…. They’re time traveling lesbians. Here they are in some Edwardian/Victorian garb. I love the springy vibes ahhhh

So I was able to find a recent version of Julie’s bed for pretty cheap to replace my diy one, so I wanted to share it here before I replace it!

I build the frame with cardboard and hot glue, and all the fabric pieces are from fat quarters at Joanns 💖

For something that pretty much cost nothing I’m pretty happy with it, the only thing I really would have changed is ironing the canopy before I put it on lol

I took the comforter and pillows off and put them on another bed and I’m putting the rest in the hallway for the cats to play with.

I did gather some beads that I liked to attach for bead curtains, but I never ended up putting them on because my cats would for sure pull on them!

When it’s light out tomorrow I’ll take some updated pictures of Julie’s room 💖

Meet Sonya! Or Tatiana. I’m not quite sure yet what her name should be 😅 A customer service email from American Girl told me that this doll is being discontinued, but I was lucky to find her pretty cheap secondhand. She’s not in perfect condition but it’s passable for now. Whenever the next sunny day comes I have quite a few marks to try and lighten. She is my (early) birthday present to myself.

Happy Pride Month! 🏳️‍🌈🏳️‍⚧️

Ivy joined me at my first pride parade this year! It was very fun. She was quite popular, three separate people came up to say they recognized her.

🏳️‍🌈 Happy Pride Month from Makena! 🏳️‍🌈

I know it feels like there’s not much to celebrate in the United States after the recent Supreme Court ruling, which will not only have consequences for anyone with a uterus, but is a stepping-stone to the US losing marriage equality and other gay and trans rights. But it’s more important than ever that LGBT+ people (and our allies) remain visible and proud, making it clear that we’re not going anywhere.

This was the most public place I’d taken doll photos so far; I got some looks (some seemed positive, others questioning), but overall people seemed unfazed. One passerby even complimented us! The sunlight created a really interesting effect on Makena’s flag (which is very thin material); I can’t decide if I like it or not. Thoughts?

Note: I’m not sure if I think of Makena as part of the LGBT+ community herself or not, but given she’s friends with Kira, and is generally outspoken about social justice issues, I think it’s safe to assume she’s at least an ally.
