While scanning in The American Girls Postcard Collection, I had the idea to try to recreate the American Girl “reading” posters on Canva since I haven’t been able to find high quality scans of the originals.
I know they aren’t EXACT replicas, but I figured I’d share anyway in case anyone wanted them!
Cecile's and Marie-Grace's cookbook
I was inspired by the Caroline cookbook @desertdollranch came up with to make some of my own for the other historical characters who never got cookbooks. All the images on the front are from their paper dolls. I had to change the cover layout slightly so they could both be featured.
I've followed the format of the original cookbooks. All these dishes are ones that are actually mentioned in Cecile and Marie-Grace's books and I've linked recipes from as close to their period as I can find (with the exception of the tomato-shrimp bisque). Most link to some of the earliest published Louisiana cookbooks from 1885 which compiled recipes from even earlier.

As someone from Louisiana with Cajun and Creole family lineage and culture, this means the world to see my culture being shared and with such accuracy.
This makes me emotional even. The care to look into traditional, accurate recipes and sources. Thank you op <3
Added some winter touches to the dining room too! Garland on the table and some Christmas treats on the cart!
(the first) Merry Christmas from the doll house!
This is my Christmas decor in the parlor!
The fireplace was a Christmas set, so most of the decor comes from that, and an American girl Christmas set i had as a child.
I also found an ornament of The Cajun Night Before Christmas book that's doll sized, because like myself, my dolls are also Cajun 🐊
Since being adopted by Gard and Cornelia, Nellie has been enjoying learning new things alongside her sisters. One of the activities she has especially liked is embroidery! She learned how to sew years ago at the settlement house by the East River, but she only ever did it as a practical skill to help with household chores. Embroidery is just a means to make something pretty or decorative, and that is giving Nellie some ideas about how to make her abilities useful.
She may have had a little help from me finishing this sampler. I'm putting up some decorations on the walls of the doll room and am getting inspiration from the historical character books.
She hangs it on the wall of the bedroom she shares with Samantha.
help my coworkers know I collect dolls (they're all so nice!) and are now accusing me of stealing Annabelle ugh
Update: do not tell your coworkers about your doll collection. Will be used against u
Omggg look at this tiny candle holder I found for the dollhouse!
I melted the bottom of a birthday candle and melted the sides a little and stuck it in there for the candle
Omgg I found this dollhouse for $50 on Facebook marketplace, and have furnished it with my collection of furniture and trinkets! This is a dream come true!
On the bottom floor, (left to right) is the dining room and then kitchen. On the second floor, (left to right) is the parlor and the bedroom. The attic has a pole to hang clothes, so it's both their closet, storage, and some of my personal art supply storage.
I wallpapered the dining room and one parlor wall before I ran out, but I did order more to finish. I want to leave the kitchen bare for now, but im looking for something good for the bedroom.
This is gonna be a longterm project, I want to repaint the exterior, add window panes and frames, replace some of the furniture i made (like 2 tables), and add in many more things over time. One thing I will be saving for is a wood-burning stove.
This is just for funsies, but it will have victorian era and turn of the century influence. I'm not going for full historical accuracy, but just historical influence.

Meet Raquel and Family!
"Raquel Reyes is a 10-year-old girl living in Kansas City, Missouri, with her family. Her dad is Mexican American and her family owns the best paleta shop in the city, Paleta-Palooza. Every year on the first day of summer, the shop introduces two new flavors, drawing long lines of customers. Raquel is learning how to DJ and will be bringing “la música” to the event.
Raquel is also excited but nervous about her summer plans—visiting family on the East Coast and attending a family wedding. She’s most looking forward to becoming closer to her cousin Sloan, who is just a year older. But when Sloan starts acting distant, Raquel is determined to figure out what’s wrong. With the help of a long-lost family diary, an unexpected animal rescue, and a whole lot of heart, Raquel discovers that family isn’t just about history—it’s about showing up for the people who need you most."
