Okay, I was going to keep this a secret but I will officially share it:
This is the Sleep Sloth. He helps you go to sleep.
I noticed, with myself, that Iād be staying awake online waiting for something to happen. I needed to find or hear something before I was able to fall asleep. And relying on the internet to tell you something isnāt always the smartest route.
One night, I realized there was a part of me that knew what I needed to hear. And I could give myself that message I was hoping for. But sometimes that seemed lonely.
So I made the Sleep Sloth. He talks you through the process of how to go to sleep, and he makes sure you hear the thing you need to hear.
Try him out. Share this post or the link toĀ sleepsloth.comĀ with friends. Or with #sleepsloth.
Heās been a good friend to me. And I hope he can be a good friend to you.
Spread the word, friends. Sleep Sloth is here.

A mosquito flew by, and now Iām likeā¦
I just saw this and yelled, IāM NOT ALONE! Whenever thereās a mosquito I grab for my hoodie. Really bad in summer heat though....
Something was up that week so Cass wasnāt surprised when she opened the fridge and heard an egg scream.

Cake update! Glossed with nail polish.
Kind of fun what you can do with a little blob of grey clay.
TIL if you watch enough videos by SugarCharmShop someday you too will attempt to make a miniature chocolate cake.
Three New Things in 2015
One of the most frustrating things about writing a novel is how long it takes. So while I'm still working, I decided to try some things NOT related to writing:
1. Drawing
I challenged myself to draw a realistic flower. Walking around the Brooklyn Gardens I found the perfect peony, photographed it, traced the outline, and then labored for many hours and days with Prismacolor pencils until I didn't want to work on it anymore.
Exhibit A: This flower was my birthday present to myself.
2. Sloth Pictures
I documented Sloth Bader Ginsburg's year better than my own. Aside from the pictures I took for book reviews, I snapped nearly 300 photos of Sloth Bader Ginsburg at weddings, holidays, and in the bathtub. Most of these photos were a personal project for a friend, but I'm happy to share one of them here.
Be kind to yourself in the year ahead. Remember to forgive yourself, and to forgive others. Itās too easy to be outraged these days, so much harder to change things, to reach out, to understand. Try to make your time matter: minutes and hours and days and weeks can blow away like dead leaves, with nothing to show but time you spent not quite ever doing things, or time you spent waiting to begin. Meet new people and talk to them. Make new things and show them to people who might enjoy them. Hug too much. Smile too much. And, when you can, love.

This is from Last Year. Itās the one that doesnāt get passed around as much.

Great advice. :)
