Feel like this shouldn’t be a psa but:

You don’t have to like the popular thing. It’s ok to watch, read, look at the popular thing and go “I don’t like this” either cause you’re not into the messaging everyone else gets from it or just because it’s not something you enjoy.

Just cause it’s popular doesn’t make it universally good either. For people who like the popular thing, great but that doesn’t mean everyone has to nor does it make that thing a perfect part of culture that has no flaws.

People are allowed to comment on the popular thing with a differing opinion. Critique is normal and doesn’t equate to hate regardless of what the fandom of the popular thing might say. There’s a difference between hate posting which is “I think fans of x are stupid and illiterate” and criticism which can give examples of actual flaws and issues. If we all had to have the same opinion on everything, the world would be populated with robots.

I feel like people have taken the “my blorbo” thing out of control and now you might get a crazy showing up at your doorbell camera cause you said you weren’t into their fav. I hate this phrase but truly, touch some grass.

Witch Hat Atelier has an inflated ego.

Witch Hat Atelier says a lot without saying anything. It’s is one of those series where it thinks it’s saying something important but in trying so hard to do so, it just ends up shoving every meaningless message down your throat so hard that you get irritated at the characters before you have a chance to appreciate it. I get that some people are super attatched to it and it’s like their emotional show security blanket but honestly the writing is so pompous and these kids speak in a way kids never would. They’re spoiled brats with attitudes. Did some bad stuff happen to them? Sure but that doesn’t give them an excuse to turn around and be rude or off-putting to others. The only likable girl is Tetia and even then her whole thing of wanting to do magic for praise is strange. Qifrey goes on and on about the problems and hubris of humans, the dangers of not understanding limits and capacity to do wrong while he’s out there actually hurting people and being a nut.

Is this somewhat of a rant? Maybe but I think we devalue media today that are able to show you the message / meaning without telling you outright every second. Apothecary Diaries for instance is good at this, you get the gravity of choices, you see the progression of characters but no one is beating you over the head with “this is about the consequences of personal choice, harem politics and how men and women both suffer in a world where power is what’s most important.” Witch Hat just thinks the audience is dull and keeps telling you “everyone should be allowed to do their own thing, restriction is bad, anyone restricting you in any way is a fascist” when in reality a world without proper rules and boundaries would be anarchy.

Ugh, needless to say I’m dropping this one. The straw that broke the camel’s back was Richeh saying for the 50th time that she didn’t want to do someone else’s magic when it’s like “how did you learn to do your own spells then” cause she wouldn’t even know the basics without someone else’s forms helping her create what she’s now calling “her spells.” This story just does a lot of annoying pontificating and preaching from a high horse. There are plenty of other good stories out there though so I really encourage people to maybe look at those.

Back in Biblical times, being offered bread was seen as an offering of peace (see Melchizedek and Abraham from Genesis 14:18, or how bread was included in peace offerings in Leviticus 7:12-13).

Jesus also states that He is the bread of life, and those that eat of His body will hunger (John 6:35).

Going by this logic, this would mean that Jesus was, and is, God’s peace offering to the world.

Jesus is God’s way of giving us peace. Both peace with Him, and within ourselves. Jesus is the only way we can have true peace in this horrible world, as well as become righteous in the eyes of the Lord.

Isn’t he just the best?

Really loved this one. Mao is such a softie for Nanoka and while she tried to act like she’s more aloof, she cares for him a good deal herself. That little squeeze she gave him while he was carrying her was sweet. Although it’s funny he didn’t even notice and she got so embarrassed she even did it 😂

I suspect he does have deeper feelings for her than just admiration and liking her company. The way he kind of fondly looks at her and worries in a different way, Mao is hard to read though since he’s so calm and level-headed most of the time. Not in a bad way, that’s actually why I like his character a lot is his even personality. Especially when it comes to others like Nanoka and Otoya, it makes him trustworthy. Also really liked the action sequences in this one and the animation was particularly good, like during Mao’s face off with the Shikigami. I’ll admit though I’m partial to the two of them and can’t wait to see more Mao x Nanoka as this goes on ❤️

same with the logic that deportation divides families and uproots people. no, you knowingly chose to put yourself in a position where you were eligible for deportation, YOU did that to your own family. and you don't get to bitch and cry about being uprooted as if you didn't already voluntarily uproot yourself from your rightful home. "oh but he's been here twenty years, he has roots" well he had 1,000 years of roots in his homeland and that didn't stop him leaving, so why are we obligated to sacrifice OUR culture and safety and people to avoid making people who did something wrong facing the natural and known consequences of their actions?

Who knew they could be this precious 🥰 I usually don’t like the phrase “relationship goals” but truly it fits here. Having someone you can be your quirky, fun self with, speak your mind to and who will share your concerns but also someone you trust to let your guard down around and they’ll protect you? Yeah, they’re an adorably cute couple and I love Renato’s respect for Mimi and care for her and her devotion for him. So hoping we get to see their wedding at the end 💛

Also, how funny was Raimondo giving his three minute warning and then coming back in only to be disappointed the prince wasn’t less chaste with Mimi 😂 such a secret shipper he is haha.

So far no one has managed to cite a single incident of bias that doesn't crumble immediately under the actual facts. The answer each time is some form of "the facts don't matter, what matters is that I made up a story about it and got upset, which is your fault."

This is a Sirius and friends appreciation post ❤️ I mean what a treat this episode was for hammy appreciators haha. Sirius saving the day, finding the little ratty boss and being the best wingman, just too much cute to handle. This is by far the best master skill, I mean sorry all you violent people but I’d much rather have a horde of hamsters I can cook with 😂

She’s so my number one for ending up with Gero. I mean, she’s one of the first, if not the first person who’s food he ate besides his own and the way she said it was special because she was thinking of him, awww 💕 Then to know that one of the reasons she started to like him was because he saved her even when they were children just sealed it for me. Because although she admits she had to come out of childhood fantasy, her admiration is before this whole “marriage partner” pursuit he’s on and having Kinosaki look for particular people. Arashiyama likes Gero all on her own for who he is, how he’s protected her over the years and that gentle nature of his he hides under being a “master”. Plus she wants to repay it in kind due to what he’s done for her, they could really be such a nice pair.

Yay for them dating not being in the final episode! I just knew Togo was the kinda guy once he realized feelings he wasn’t going to play games. Honestly the dream guy, seriously. I mean, how precious is he when they agree to date that he says he can’t express how happy he is, just the best. And Poem really thinking through if she loves him for him or because he’s been so kind to her, I appreciate that because it’s a real thing to think about but so glad she realized she does love Togo for his weird self haha.

They’re hilarious trying to keep it a secret though, I lost it at his wink 😜 honestly they might be one of my fav anime couples in a long time. Especially how they are with one another, like them giggling over him learning how to use a phone and him rambling about his intentions for their relationship during the school day and how he already sees marrying her and their future together, to Poem realizing keeping the secret isn’t worth making Togo someone he isn’t, that’s some true love right there ❤️

Agents of the four seasons has one of the craziest plots. Like oh, these kids get imbued with the power of the seasons how beautiful and…oh no wait this is awful cause they’re being kidnapped and kinda tortured living lives of isolation and have lots of mental issues. Plus these bonds they form with their guards border on unhealthy levels of codependency. But hey at least there’s going to be a sweet romance between Spring and Winter right?…right? Nope…it just keeps getting teased but they haven’t seen each other since they were kids and one has had a psychotic break while the other carries immense guilt for still living. All the while insurgents keep coming after everybody and try to blow a little girl away and take her hostage so it seems like we’re going to get season camaraderie but instead just more mental breakdown. Basically, if you thought you were getting sweet seasonal romance anime, think again.
