what do they mean when they say snug as a bug in a rug. are bugs snug in rugs? are bugs capable of being snug? are bugs often in rugs? i guess so, sometimes, but most bugs i see are really big and if they’re in rugs then that’s a real problem. and wouldn’t a rug rolled around a bug probably squish it? if you’re squished then you can’t be snug?

i love spending time with frumentarius inculta when he isn’t being a frumentarius. does that make sense? when he’s being vulpes. when he’s being adrian (what auntie alba calls him sometimes, when they think i am not listening). when he leans over my shoulder and shows me how to properly tie a knot, or when he tells me he is proud, when he shows me how to line up a shot or helps me apply sun-screen

he thinks that i am too young and foolish to know that he is my father. i know it to be true. i have his eyes, his face, his coloring. i look nothing like caesar.

i wonder if i am related to caesar at all. did he adopt me for some reason?
