so you can shoot a black child in the back as he's running away and get away with it with zero consequences, but god forbid a black child defend himself, because that'll land him thirty-five fucking years in jail—which is basically a life sentence. half of his life will be over when his sentence is up. all the fake talk of progress in this country has just been a way to silence black people for speaking out against the countless horrific injustices we're forced to experience, from microagressions to outright murder. you literally cannot go a day without hearing about another black person falling victim to systemic racism and then having to listen to people justify why they deserved it. and we're supposed to hold no animosity whatsoever as we grin and bear it.

i finally started watching code geass after about 6 years of procrastinating and i genuinely find it hard to believe that ppl conpare lelouch to light because the resemblance is just not there imo...

LET ME EXPLAIN!!

like, yes theyre both intelligent and they can manipulate others to execute their plans and yes they both have sadistic tendencies but i feel like the resemblance ends there.

for light, everyone is disposable. there is not one person that he genuinely holds dear to his heart and no one, not even his own family, is an exception to that.

meanwhile, its clear from the very beginning that lelouch does not merely think of people as pawns — he values them. to him, people like nunally, shirley, suzaku and kallen are valuable on a deeper level. he fights for them and even if his reason for killing his father is selfish, he still clearly cares about how its affects the people who put their trust in him.

so while lelouch may share some character traits with light, their intentions for doing the things they do are completely different and the stories told through them also convey different ideas about society, systems and people.

facts about litz (oc) beneath the cut :)

litz, before becoming a cleaner, was a resident of canvas town. she was pretty much raised by herself and the mayor would check in on her at times but she didn't really have familial stability since she never met her parents.

because of the lack of warmth and bonding at an early age, she found solace in listening to and eventually playing music. it was a way for them to let their emotions out and a way for them to connect with other people without having to actually interact with them (as in: sharing her music with others allowed her to share her true self with others).

she became a giver when she was 13 because thats when she got her first guitar but didnt really know what her power could do, all she knew was that she didn't need an amplifier for her guitar to sound loud and distorted asf when it was activated xD

tamsy met litz during a trip to canvas town when he went to get protection spells with everyone else ( on a seperate occasion not related to the penta arc )

they pretty much bonded over music which led to litz coming over to HQ often to see him; that also led to her becoming more acquainted with everyone else and that's what eventually led to her becoming a cleaner :3

ill prolly talk more about her later as i post more abt her ^^

the whole kei urana situation ( rant )

okay i wanna talk about the whole discourse thats been going on about kei urana recently cuz of that video she reposted amongst other things; this is NOT a hate post, i simply want to know what black fans of gachiakuta think about it (since im not black and i'd really like to understand your guys' perspective).

please feel free to comment/reblog with your own thoughts !!

so from what i know (im not on x) urana posted something about an asian guy doing jabbers dance with leeks on his head and fans took that as a racist/anti-black thing; i feel like it was ignorant/insensitive for her to do rather than racist and it seems that she apologized for it, but i dont want to defend her when it looks like there are black fans that are hurt/disappointed about it (reasonably so)

i've seen black fans both support her still after this but ive also seen some black fans be disappointed about it so i'd like to know what you guys think about it !

the reason i bring this up is bcs i have questions concerning her behavior (and thats not a bad thing, i just wanna make sure im supporting good artists) cuz i remember she was coming at fans for thinking that tamsy was genuinely trans which i get that bcs if my ocs were being misconstrued i'd also like to clear it up — but if she was able to clear up that misunderstanding, how come she wasnt able to condemn fans for being racist towards jabber? (its a genuine question, maybe she didnt know idk)

and while i get that characters like jabber, semiu and corvus are side characters, corvus plays a big part of the story but we still havent got a back story for him (and im willing to think its because shes building up the mysterious air around him which im totally here for!) and i dont think every character needs a backstory either, its just things that im personally thinking about from an objective lens

ive been a fan of anime for about 10 years now and ive seen how drastically different and toxic the community has become, so now im just wondering if the internet is just trying to push that whole 'holier than thou' rhetoric against kei urana, or if there are actual things kei urana may have to address

again, i wanna hear from black fans specifically since its clear that you guys are the group being targeted by all of this so pls lmk what yall think !
