wait a second i just realize...... so original P5 ending has Ren arrested and that's full circle back to reality ending. but "paradise" begins when Akechi, alive at this point, steps in and immediately takes that away from Ren. it was his favor to repay but he essentially "saved" Ren from the arrest. that's literally the start of third semester. here we have the end of the game which is supposed to mirror the beginning when Ren got arrested, but now instead of falling to hell and starting his journey of saving ppl he gets "saved", one semester away from dooming the world. it's a parallel that deliberately inverts everything from the start of Ren's journey: what if none of that bad stuff happens ? what if instead of falling to hell and going through everything to find his will to fight, someone just "saves" him ? if all that matters is saving ppl then what if we just "save" everyone ?

it really is a message about doing the right thing, not forcing what you think is right onto the world. and at the root of it, everyone must first save themselves, not wait for someone to come "save" them. i guess it's like Akechi telling Ren to not presume to "save" him, he can obviously save himself. it's really the opposite of original P5 against Yaldy, that's why it feels so different: no, don't save the world, i refuse to let you "save" me.
