Dark Academia Aesthetic Part 1: Biology
• Sneaking out late in the evening, in the protection of the fog, to go study and collect different plants
• Spending hours in the lab conducting experiments and not sleeping until you’ve finished your research
• Sleepless nights writing a report on your research, fueled by black tea
• Sweetened tea and coffee cakes for breakfast
• A sort of tired presence in class, A complete awareness of what is going while you’re knees are drawn towards your chest and your eyes are closed
• Statements like “oh for crying out loud, I’ll do it.” In the middle of class when you were too tired to raise your hand, but nobody else knew what the answer was.
• Thoroughly enjoying non fiction books on anything and everything
• Collared sweaters poking about beneath freshly cleaned lab coats
• A love and adoration for nature that is nearly impossible to describe
• Yearning to make a groundbreaking discovery as revolutionary as Charles Darwin’s
• Scinece class is “too vague” and you “aren’t learning enough”
• Late night intellectual conversation with your best friend in the woods, talking about the mushrooms and lichen known for growing there, warmed only by your layered sweaters and collared and shirts, not to mention your long black button up sweater.
• chewing on your lip when doing homework and during tests
• Quick witted minds, childish jokes, and piercing scarcasm
• Thriving in rain, fog, and cloudy weather.
• Enjoying learning, getting good grades, and being productive, but getting distracted easily by that one book you keep reading, so that you don’t get anything done
• Effortlessly understanding everything that is happening in class
• Sometimes getting poor grades on the homework, not because you didn’t understand it, but because you understood it so well that you didn’t see the reason for doing it.
