Ghost Stories
“I wish they would offer me a corner office and a pay raise,” he said, laughing a bit. He’d turn down the corner office. He actually didn’t mind picking brains and picking through somebody’s body in the basement. But he was curious. Was there really some fucked up world out there? He didn’t know, which was why he was so willing to keep an eye on them.
“I’m going to go along with you and I’m going to see the cool weird shit that you deal with,” he said cheerfully. As much as they might think that this is an act to get into their good graces, it wasn’t. If it was, he might be a lot more agreeable
Minnie kept their arms crossed. This Max guy was weird. They didn’t trust him. Minnie knew that the Bureau wouldn’t let them just go on with their work, without someone watching them. Maybe the Bureau chose this guy, to throw Minnie off. Get them to take their guard down. Well, they weren’t going to let it happen.
Minnie shook their head. “I don’t look for cool, weird shit.” They said. It usually found Minnie. “And I doubt I’m going to be trusted with anything beyond a simple murder case. I haven’t read the file yet, but I have a feeling this is going to be open and shut, boring as hell, and not worth your time.” They said.
