Crashes out so bad. He actually crashes out and starts raging. Will start petitions online to get you back and will MAKE people sign them. Even the ones that weren't particularly interested in your release. Sends emails after emails to the game company to not do this to you. Writes in the survey how shallow they are for cancelling you. That's all he could do right? Is what you thought. This man will show up at the game company with a bunch of other players. If that doesn't work he will get a hacker and hack in the game server and leak your release. He's not giving up on you.

Rafayel

Sulks in his bathtub the first time he heard the news of your cancellation. Starts painting you and won't stop. You basically become his original character now and you're in every one of his paintings. “Didn't he paint this same maiden in the last painting?” “Doesn't this painting look a lot similar to last ones?” Murmurs spread around the exhibition and Thomas starts panicking. But he won't stop. This is to send a message that if they're going to cancel you he's going to keep bringing you back even at the cost of his own career, about which he could care less.

He's the dawnbreaker, the foreseer and Dr. Zayne. You best believe that he will somehow find a way to you and bring himself in your game and become your canon love interest. Problem solved

Nero 2.0 Will start a blog with your name and will defend you from the haters. Will get Isaiah and Jeremiah with him into this, though they do it for the fun. Isaiah absolutely rages at others. “If you're so keen on getting a character deleted because you don't like it, you should also consider getting yourself deleted because I don't like you.” Also replies to another comment saying they're gonna leave the game if you don't get cancelled with “Good. Don't bother coming back.” He gets so bummed out, he was saving diamonds in game for you and got a lot of savings for your upcoming merch and stuff. It's alright, he gets it all custom made.

CN players might have a point? From what ive been able to find he was makerketed very very badly to them: the phrase "letting a wolf into your home" is akin to saying letting a r**ist in your home (they very specifically used this idiom), they also used 731 in his world underneath stories which is a number associated with human experimentation and a deep sense of shame for the country (this was a big point, i'e seen some say its akin to the holocaust),

But mainly the company enjoys cultural export privileges and support yet they delete or rename a lot of chinese local elements and fail to uphold the responsibility those privileges bring

Many cn players are angry at the company for enjoying export privileges off the backs of the money they spent enjoying the game, and not giving global servers the actual cultural elements of the game or respecting the country.

So LaDS has been tanking as a game. Let's talk about it (please read the whole thing, I slowly make my point and want justice for Valko)

Many of you know me as someone who randomly wrote 2.5 Caleb fics for fun, and then I disappeared. Why? Because the characters got boring, and I don't like that nobody's willing to talk about it.

No new story update, no new lore, no new character development or arcs within their released cards. Everything was recycled or fleshed out in the form of tropes, and that's when content started dying. No one's character was growing or getting better or more complex, and no new substance was being added to the MC's "relationship" with the characters because the cards offered no new information and stagnated. People began logging in for the sake of clearing dailies or getting weekly gifts and then logging out. Even paying players (myself included) slowly began to lose interest.

Valko was a breath of fresh air who was finally going to be Rafayel's rival/counterpart within the main storyline, and before anyone argues with me about him being 'introduced out of nowhere', he has been teased in the game for a long time now. Be it the red hood that 'could even make the Big Bad Wolf jealous' description, or Zayne asking about a specific redhead we were speaking to, or the abnormally high heat signature found on the uppermost floor of Eontech's building that secretly invested in EVER. All mentioned within the lore of the game, if you look for it.

Not only that, but Valko's personality from the recent trailers also seemed wonderful. He was playful and made the MC laugh while also making her feel secure, and so many people love to see that kind of dynamic (including me, who was so excited because he's exactly like my irl boyfriend and soon-to-be fiancé, who was planning to download the game because he also loved Valko's teasers so much).

As someone who cares about the main storyline and its updates, asking for Caleb and Sylus story updates when it is very clear that the story's advancement depends on Valko's inclusion is bizarre to me. You can't get to the stairwell if you haven't entered the building, and you can't learn more about the other 5 LI's without having Valko be introduced.

We always knew a new LI was coming soon. He was even teased in lunar new year arts, and there are 6 types of stellactra, one matching each LI, which we already knew. Could he have been better introduced if Infold had communicated better and placated everyone by updating the game's quality of life and clarifying ahead that Caleb and Sylus were getting story expansions in September and November? Absolutely, and I still hold them accountable for that. But people taking it out on Valko is unacceptable.

The voice actor and motion capture actors, the development team, art team, music developers, scriptwriters, all of these people spent two years developing and perfecting Valko as a character, same as the other love interests. Deleting Valko from the game is not only disrespectful to the fans who are so excited to have him, but also to the potentially hundreds of people who ended up working on this project and have to watch all their hard work get scrapped not even 2 weeks before its debut. It's abhorrent.

I need you all to understand that this isn't just about liking Valko as a character, but that it goes beyond that. This not only affects real people's livelihoods and work (which apparently so many people don't even consider), but also you. Your precious story expansions will be changed and retconned if Valko is kicked out. Lore will become unreliable and inconsistent. The game will fail, and will declare end of service by the end of the year. So stop for a second and really think about what all of this means.

Do what you can to help us bring him back. Use the tags Bring Valko Back (#BringValkoBack and #BringBackValko), email Infold/Papergames, submit customer support claims, don't log into the game, and sign petitions that are gaining traction to bring him back. We have to do this if you don't want everything to disappear. You might not care for Valko, but you care for your main, right?

There will be no Xavier without Valko. There will be no Zayne without Valko. There will be no Rafayel without Valko. There will be no Sylus without Valko. There will be no Caleb without Valko. Let it all register for a moment. If the game is gone, so are they all.

My thoughts on Infold deciding to not move forward with Valko. As well as what my intentions are moving forward

I apologize this took all day — though I doubt any of you were looking for a proper comment from me lol. I had a busy day at work and the free moment I did get was when I made the posts I did — aka when I found out and genuinely had to excuse myself. This post is a tad bit long so if you take the time to read, thank you.

It’s been hours and I am still genuinely at a loss for words over this outcome. I applaud everyone who has rallied together so quickly with petitions, hashtags, emails, and more in effort to try and stop Infold from going through with this decision because I am still sitting here stunned to a degree of silence.

The only word I can think of to describe how I feel about this entire thing is disgust.

Disgust at Infold, disgust at fans who threatened to sue them, disgust at fans who made racial comments regarding his appearance that ultimately led to their added dislike for him. Disgust for international fans who are attacking the Asian fanbase as a whole and using this as an opportunity to be racist. Regardless if they were prejudice or racist first. Two wrongs will never make a right.

Infold made one of the worst decisions I have ever seen a company make. I genuinely cannot understand where this came from so suddenly, what the hell happened that made them crack under the pressure? That they’re willing to bend to the whims of their home base and do as they wish?

That they’d throw away weeks, if not months or maybe even years worth of planning, designing, animation, storylines, voice acting… because their home fan base didn’t enjoy the character?? Not to say it was just Asia either, because I saw a hefty amount of international dislike too, but we all know who infold’s main priority is when it comes to this game.

And we know how intense the CN fanbase can get… spending tens of thousands on 30 second ad slots for billboards of their main and shit like… Jesus fuck

The amount of people that got fucked over by Infold because they’re canceling Valko’s release?? The amount of people who are actually overjoyed by it?? It’s fucking sickening, like some of you are seriously un-fucking-well and need to go get a job or a hobby or at least touch some fucking grass.

I’d be more understanding if Infold decided to step forward and say they were going to delay Valko’s launch so they could address the issues within the game first. Like, shit, I don’t know?? Fix the skin color and shadow issues with darker MCs?? Add the missing content for Caleb and Sylus?? Add levels to their existing battle fields like UNICORNS? The fucking laundry list worth of things that players have been bugging you guys about for like… ever now??

I’d be even more understanding if they just said they were delaying his launch to rework the issues that the CN fanbase had concerns with. Such as the “A-0731” experiment linked to the Nanjing massacre during WWII?? And maybe rework the lines they had voiced where it’s essentially poking fun at DV?? These are things that were not translated over to the international fanbase, these were concerns some CN fans had.

It doesn’t, however, excuse the racial comments about Valko being “too tan” or “too American looking” and other uncomfortable comments made. Most likely, some of these probably had zero correlation but I’m not on Red Note to know for sure.

But, no. We’re deleting him completely, cowering on our knees promising to not add any more love interest beside the current 5, and still adding the stupid ass addition to the house feature that nobody wants. Instead of owning up, correcting mistakes, pushing forward with things we initially planned?? Hello??

What the fuck???

I genuinely pray that somehow, some way, infold’s mind is changed and Valko is brought back. But my hopes are not high, and depending on how things go over the next few days will really dictate what I do with this blog going forward.

I love and adore Sylus, he has become one of my favorite characters of all time over the last two years of me playing this game. Well, almost, the end of July would be my 2 year anniversary. But I just don’t think I can go forward with supporting a company that is so… shallow? I don’t even know how to describe it.

I mean I can continue to write for the boys without supporting Infold because obviously my fanfic comes from my brain lol but like… what the fuck man I’m just at a fucking loss for works still even after saying all that above…

Actionable Ideas for Challenging Infold Over Valko's Release

A lot of LADS fans are really upset over Infold's decision to shelve Valko. This is my attempt at creating action items for fans wanting to do something but are unsure where to start.

Here are some methods for giving Infold feedback:

Comment on their Instagram posts

Comment on their Facebook posts

Comment on their YouTube videos

Join their official Discord Server and voice your dissatisfaction

Leave a 1-star review on the Apple App Store or the Google Play Store

Complete the survey in the Love and Deepspace app by selecting the box/pencil icon in the top right corner of the home screen

"Suggest" Valko's release in the Love and Deepspace app by going to Settings > More > Support, then select "Suggestion"

(If you want to be slightly passive-aggressive) On 9 July, go to Settings > More > Support, then select "Bug Report" and fill out the report stating that the promised Valko content is missing

Remember: if we want Infold to listen to us, we MUST remain civil and demonstrate our affection for the game. I highly doubt they will be intimidated by non-CN players, which means we are held to a different standard. What is effective for them will not be effective for us.

With that said, remember these do's and dont's:

Do repeatedly submit/post/send your feedback over the next few weeks. Email them today, in a few days, on 9 July, and in the weeks after. Post on their social media every day. Overwhelm them and show them this isn't going to go away over a few free Wishes.

Do prepare to CONTINUE submitting/posting/sending your feedback over the next few months. Infold needs to see that we won't let this issue go. Schedule emails to be sent to them over the next 3 months. Draft X posts today and copy and paste them to post in a few months time. Draft your long-form in-app feedback in preperation for the update and the upcoming banners. Create reminders to check and comment on their posts weekly. Don't let them get comfortable. Be a dog with a bone (lol).

Do maintain a polite tone in your feedback (even when you are issuing a threat like leaving the game).

Do specify your current disappointments, long-term criticisms, and expectations for the future of the game should you continue to play.

Do clearly isolate your long-term issues with the game from the current issue of Valko's release. Make it clear that those issues are not resolved by delaying or permanently canceling Valko's debut.

Do talk positively about whatever you can (ie. enjoying other LIs, enjoying the content of the Main Story itself, appreciating the worldbuilding, etc). This may feel difficult, but it demonstrates that you are a passionate player. Infold can assume that a player so invested in the game would need something drastic to push them to leave.

Don't use profanity.

Don't reference CN players.

Don't bring up Infold's past mistakes. We need to stay focused on the current issues.

Don't criticize anything about Valko's teased content. This one may be unpopular, I know. If Infold is pulling back Valko's release, I don't think it's likely that they will be willing to invest any more time and money into his development. If they continue to get more and more criticisms about him and don't care to change anything about him, they will never release him. I'm not minimizing any fan's concerns; I'm suggesting we choose a priority.

If you are unsure where to start, here are some talking points:

Express your excitement over Valko (bonus points if you give reasons why). Did you come back from a long hiatus for him?

Express your disappointment over not having Valko in the game. How will it impact your enjoyment of the game?

Describe how you prepared for his anticipated arrival. • In-game (farm for dias, bought packs, etc) • On your devices (created storage space, bought a new device, etc) • Financially (budgeted for buying packs upon his release, etc)

Describe how you engaged in fandom around Valko. Did you create fanart, fanfiction, or other fanworks? How much were you consuming fanworks showcasing him? Demonstrating how beloved he was before any real content of his being released indicates a warm reception if/when he is released.

What are the current issues you experience with the game? Be specific. Describe exactly how they impact your gameplay. Suggest a concrete way those issues could be resolved. Assert that Valko's release being postponed or canceled will not resolve these issues.

Express concern for the changes to their planned story arc his absence would create. Question if those changes would be as enjoyable as their original plan.

(If you're feeling up to it) Acknowledge the amount of time, effort, and money that must have gone into creating Valko. Let them know it would disappoint you to see it go to waste.

Infold made a terrible decision. We need to take action and let Infold know that a large portion of the LADS fanbase wants Valko to be released at some point. Let's try to remain positive where we can, engage in positive fandom, and do our best to make our voices heard by Infold.
