Cameron smiled at her. Most of what he knew from California came from movies or his one ever trip around there. It was probably not the most accurate out of things. “That sounds really nice. I’ve only been there once… You know, LA,” he explained it to her. “But, I would definitely say that the climate is something I remember,” he added. “I grew up in Vancouver, and it’s where I’ve spent most of my life. Montreal is sort of a new development in my life, and there are things I’m getting used around here as well.” He pointed out. “Have you been living here for long?”

June nodded. “Yeah-- most people I know who’ve visited Cali once or twice seem to say that.” She chuckled a little. She’d grown up completely use to the warmth and living in summer clothes or her bikini on the beach whilst she was surfing and catching waves so Canada was definitely a big change from the summer sunshine. “About 8 years. I moved here for uni and have been here since.” She shrugged. “What about you?”

“You should learn to expect it by now,” Sienna commented with a smile. “I can hold my own, though to my knowledge he still doesn’t know anything about it.”

“And I guess it’s better off that way, right?” Juniper commented. “Obviously she wasn’t work your time and effort but I’m sure you’ll find someone awesome soon enough.”

“Oh, can you please hold on a second?” she asked as she pulled a flyer out of the book she was carrying. “I don’t know if you’d be interested, but… So there’s gonna be a bake sale at my church. You should really stop by on Saturday. We’re raising money for scholarships for some of the kids in the neighborhood who really need it.”

Staring down at the flier, June shrugged. She was in a bit of a hurry to get to work when she’d been stopped on the street by the other woman. “Oh well--- thanks. I’ll...consider it.” She nodded taking the flier trying to sound convincing although she knew she sounded otherwise.

“I guess you can say I was never really the artistic kind,” Ali justified, shaking her head at the words. It was true. It seemed that most art was about two things she lacked when it came to it: talent and dedication. Since she didn’t particularly seem to have talent when it came to drawing or anything of the sorts, the dedication never particularly came. “Yeah, I didn’t think it would either,” Ali agreed. “Not to mention that they’re going to say you’ve done an amazing job no matter what you might end up coming up with.”

“Well yano-- at that age they tell you that anything you make is amazing.” June chuckled. “Even if it’s a piece of shit. It’s all about boosting your confidence and making you feel like you’ve done something actually worthwhile as a kid even if all you’ve done is splash a bunch of coloured splotches together that look like a deformed mess.” She laughed at the thought knowing that she’d definitely looked back on some of her previous works from school and wondered what the heck was going on.

“It is a pleasure to meet you, Ms. Neilson,” she stated, offering the other one a hand she could shake. “Yes, well, it should be noted that I have difficulty referring to anyone by their first names right off the bat,” she explained upfront. She was aware of the fact that her antics had a way of coming off as odd to a number of people, unfortunately, certain habits died hard - if at all. “I thought you were a familiar face, I just couldn’t pinpoint from where that had been.” Mini added to her explanations. “Mini analyzed the painting that was ahead of the other woman, taking in the size and imaging how much bigger it would have to be in order for it to fit the wall that she had in mind. “I think that the painting would have to be about three times bigger than what you have going on around here,” she announced, still looking like she was thinking about it. In any case, you could come take a look at the place I’m talking about so that you can have a better idea of what you think would work out. I would assume you would have a more educated view of the matter,” Mini noted. “Perhaps we could schedule a visitation and you could see the space I have to offer and point out what you think might look best considering what I might have in mind?” the brunette offered.

“Likewise-- it’s a pleasure to meet you too,” June replied extending her own hand out to shake it with Mini’s. “And please-- feel free to call me June.” She told her. They weren’t exactly in a formal setting but either way she found it odd being called by her surname. Heck, even being called by ‘Juniper’ was a little strange when not in an informal setting. Taking into consideration what Mini had suggested, she nodded her head as she began to process what she was saying and pictured just how big the piece of artwork would have to be. “Sure, I think I can work with that.” She agreed, although she definitely had to stop herself and hold her tongue from the next thing that she was thinking. Sure, she was an artist by hobby but having an educated view on what would look good in a certain environment? Definitely not since she just splashed together colours without really taking too much into consideration and instead let the inner artist inside of her take control. “How about you leave me with your contact details and I’ll get back to you tonight once we’ve both had a look at our schedules?” June asked making her own suggestion this time. Plus, she’d much rather that Mini give her her contact details now instead of June having to look her up in the bank’s database which she wasn’t actually allowed to do anyway since this wasn’t for business purposes relating to banking.

Sutton shook her head at June’s offer. It was generous, but it didn’t feel right not to pay her for her labor. “Oh, no, but I’d want to pay you somehow for your work. At least let me get’cha dinner sometime or somethin’.”

“Alright-- tell you what. I’ll give you a call once I’ve finished this off and then we can sort something out?” June suggested, still smiling at the other woman. She wasn’t even sure when exactly the painting would be ready but she knew Sutton probably wouldn’t be too long.

Sienna smiled and laughed as June prodded her, “well duh, they make the best canvases,” she retorted. She turned to face the other girl as June started to question her, “I didn’t just try, I was very successful, and in my defence I knew nothing about the boyfriend until after the fact,” Sienna said.

“I don’t know why I didn’t see that one coming.” She shook her head with a laugh. “Well, it could have been much worse. You totally have the gender card on your hands. Give it you were another dude flirting with his chick and you’d probably be dead.”

“I’m great at body paint,” Sienna said with a smirk. She laughed as the girl asked for the gossip. “Sadly that part of my life has been eerily quiet,” Sienna admitted, “there was a girl, gorgeous, dancer, insanely funny but then her shit piece of a boyfriend proposed and she went running back to him,” Sienna admitted but she said it with a smile. “Her loss.”

“Specifically body paint and women, right?” She teased her giving Sienna a gentle prod in the side before she continued cleaning up. “Woah wait-- hold up. Were you trying to flirt with a girl that was taken?” She shook her head chuckle wanting more details since she was beginning to find the story amusing.

The idea that someone would do something just for fun was so strange to Sutton. She had always thought that it was best to do things because they brought acclaim or money or because she was good at them, but doing something just because she liked it seemed frivolous. She pulled a receipt and a pen from her handbag and jotted down her phone number before giving it to the blonde. “Well, if you ever decide to sell that painting,” she said, pointing to the one that June was working on, “give me a call. It looks like it’s gonna be absolutely beautiful.”

Staring down at the blank paper for a moment, she looked at it with a blank expression on her face before giving in and taking it from Sutton with a smile though she shook her head immediately. “You know-- if you actually like it so much I could just give it to you for free.” June told her in response though she kept the paper since it had Sutton’s contact details. ‘Honesty-- it really wouldn’t be such a big deal. Its just a painting after all.” She told the redhead.

“Just a little bit, okay!” he corrected himself and then snorted. “You do realize you’re already getting wrinkles and old age is 2 years closer to you than to me, right? ”

"Already getting wrinkles? Now you just cut me deep Wiktor." She replied with a fake over dramatic hurt tone. "I'm getting old, sure, I've already learnt to accept that. If I had a dollar for every time I've heard my little sister say that I'd be a millionaire by now." She rolled her eyes at the thought.

“But I’m not grumpy Wik.” She stated as if trying to prove her point though it might have shot her in the foot and proved his instead. “You sure you’re not jealous of your big brother?” June smirked taking advantage of the conversation. “He did give me his number after all.” She teased him.

“Just a very little bit.” he smiled even more. “Please, it’s his time to settle, don’t watch me, I have lots of time more.” he rolled his eyes, shaking his head.

Ali offered the woman a soft smile. “Okay, I hope you don’t think it’s foolish or anything of the sorts but,” the brunette trailed off around there. “You could maybe try a combination of these two colors to achieve a different tone of cyan?” she proposed, not even sure if what she was talking about made any sense. “Oh, no,” she shook her head. “Unless you want to count the finger painting and aquarelle drawings I did as a child… Outside of those, I have no experience with it whatsoever,” she said with a few more shakes of her head.

Giving her a friendly smile, June shook her head. “Nothing’s foolish when it comes to art. A lot of it is about trying things out and seeing what you come up with.” She told the brunette as she decided to take upon her suggestion to see what would happen. Using her paintbrush, she mixed a little of the two colours that Ali had suggested on her pallet. “I don’t think those really count since they force you to do those in school.” She responded with a chuckle.

“Sure, but I think I only enjoy things when I’m good at them,” she said, shrugging. Sutton couldn’t help but feel a little jealous; she was terrible at perseverance, and she tended to run away from almost everything she did out of fear of never being good enough, but June seemed like the kind of person who could push through all the mess ups until she was great at something. “Do you sell those?” she asked, pointing at the painting the blonde was working on.

She simply nodded at Sutton’s response before she looked up at her with an almost confused expression on her face. “Sell me artwork?” She asked as if checking to see if she’d heard correctly the first time. “Never really thought about it.” She shrugged off the thought. She’d heard from a lot of people before about her work was actually really good and how she could make money off of it but Juniper had never really believed the things she’d heard before. “I just do it for fun and not money.” She stated.

“That seems nice,” he said with a nod and a smile. “I can already tell that you haven’t grown up anywhere around here too,” Cameron observed, even though he wasn’t the best at that kind of thing, this one was just too obvious. Sometimes the man caught himself thinking about Vancouver and what it was like for him around there, though it was something that normally didn’t last long. Thinking about his family, on the other hand, was something a bit more complicated, and that he might actually dwell on.

“Definitely not from anywhere near here.” June replied in confirmation. “I’m from California actually. Where it’s always sunny and the waves are epic.” She flashed a smile at him. It was nothing like the snowy days that Canada got and although she’d been living in Canada for a while now she still couldn’t quite get use to the difference in weather. “What about you? Are you from round here?” She asked him to keep the conversation rolling since she was enjoying a bit of company while she painted.
