“That’s good to hear, but when a crowd comes in, I have to cover everything, so thank you for at least paying attention. The gentlemen behind you weren’t so courteous annnnnd-” Ionna makes a fairly unamused expression for a moment, “there they go, hopefully off to see friends and not start anything.” Snapping out of it, she focused long enough to catch the woman’s order. “Shirley temple with extra cherries. Extra fruit or garnish is 20 cents extra, is that alright?” While she waited for a response, she set about mixing and pouring the drink, setting it up neatly in a pretty daiquiri glass, though it looked a bit deeper than a regular one. A pair of maraschino cherries, attached at the top of the stem, were hinged over the lip, though the jar remained open just in case.
Juni turned and looked back at the group of men clustered at a table a few feet from the bartop and then looked back to the woman behind the counter, looking slightly alarmed. “Do you have to deal with that kind of crowd every night?” she asked, situating herself on the vacant stool. When asked about the extra charge for the cherries, Juni nodded, “Oh, yes that’s fine. I don’t usually drink a ton but I’ll just go ahead and open a tab.“
Upon receiving her drink, she thanked the bartender and smiled before plucking the pair of cherries, helping herself to one for now, and then sipping the bubbly, syrupy drink. “This always hits the spot after a long day.”
