Umm you guys know that Dengekiko and Famitsu are both based off game reporting magazines right?

It’s not out of character for Dengekiko to make a joke like this. Her whole character is based off being an ace reporter that gets the story out first and wants to beat her rival. Even if she has to do some fan service-y things because well she finally got her chance be be a playable character. If you read her tweets in the re;birth games and from mk2 on she makes lots of comments on the states of games and your gameplay.

A lot of the jokes in HDN U are based out of how Dengeki Playstation and Famitsu (both online and the magazine print) rate games and how over the years the names are more or less just a stamp of it being decent. (it used to be that high rates from them meant that the game was out of this world great, but now it’s more like any online review rating). That both have had to shift to the otaku crowd and offer both manga and anime related tie ins for each magazine print and what not.

U is just one big jab at how what used to be serious game ratings are now just sort of jokes within the two rival magazines

There was no need for the localizer to shoehorn in stuff about Social Justice The original Japanese version made no mention of Social Justice, because guess what? The Japanese don’t give a crap about that and rightfully so. Nick Doerr is infamous for his crappy localization work for when he was working at Nisa.
