Daisy had never really been the type of person that enjoyed partying or drinking. She always preferred a quiet night at home, curled around a bowl of popcorn and a muggle film playing on her television. But she couldnât say no when her friends from primary school invited her to go dance at some new club. It would be good, to get away from her problems and simply hang out with some muggles, perhaps it would be a good way to make herself feel better. So, she had gotten dressed up in a cute outfit - a pastel pink off-the-shoulder sundress, speckled with little white and yellow flowers - and added a ridiculous amount of glitter to her eyelids before heading out with her friends.
The night was rather fun, she had gotten quite drunk and enjoyed herself on the dancefloor. But Daisy had a difficult time taking her eyes off the person in the DJ booth. They were absolutely beautiful, somebody that looked like they were bad for her. Apparently she had a type. All she wanted was to capture their attention and she dragged her friends up closer to the booth and danced there until the club closed down. Unfortunately, it seemed her plan had failed, and Daisy went home feeling rather disappointed before returning on her own the following night. She had gone to the club every weekend since, not entirely sure how to approach them, so she continued to keep close proximity in hopes that they would initiate conversation.
Walking into the club on a Thursday night, Daisy pouted as she realized they werenât there, and only stayed long enough to have a single drink before deciding to head out. There was no point in being there if the person she was trying to impress wasnât there. Once she was outside, Daisy turned the corner so she could apparate away in privacy, but her steps halted when she crashed into somebody else. âOh my goodness, Iâm so sorry!â Daisy squealed, taking a step back and bringing her eyes up to meet theirs. Feeling her eyes grow wide as she took in the sight in front of her, Daisyâs cheeks turned bright red. This was what she wanted - she wanted to talk to them - but now that they were right here in front of her, she hadnât a clue what to say. So, she simply stared for a moment before shaking her head and smiling. âIâm sorry - are you alright? Iâm horribly clumsy, always bumping into people. Usually with a little more grace, but Iâve had something to drink and can barely walk in a straight line thanks to my two left feet.â
It was one of their off nights and Juno found theirself taking full advantage for a night out at the club. They their job, they loved to be behind the DJ booth playing music and controlling the vibe. But tonight someone else would be controlling the vibe, and all Juno had to do was move with it. They had been there for a couple of hours already and they had a light sheen of sweat to them from their near constant movement, dancing and partying, following beautiful people around on the dance floor. But they were getting a little tired and they needed a break for fresh air. Blowing some kisses and waving off the people they had been dancing with, they made their way through the crowd and back out the door into the night.
The cool air hit their face and immediately made them feel energized again, so much more awake. They closed their eyes for a moment, tipping their head back and grinning up at the night sky. âAce,â they murmured to theirself, taking a deep breath before continuing on, hearing a couple of others smoking in the doorway laugh as they watched them, and laughing along with them as they tucked theirself a little bit more to the side. They moved to lean against the wall before they were properly close enough and almost fell against it, but caught theirself last moment with a palm, setting theirself right with their upper back pressed firmly to the bricks.
They took a joint from the pocket, lit it, smoked a couple of hoots and watched the other club goers who were milling about outside with them. Every here or there theyâd reply to something someone said, and they would laugh all together before moving on again. Even with the dull pounding of music muffled from inside, it was chill. Juno let their head rest back against the wall and closed their eyes a moment, enjoying the sounds and the night and their smoke. Their free hand drummed against their leg where it rested, following the beat of the music.
Suddenly they felt a jolt, a weight shoving into them and leaning off-balance as they were, they stumbled a couple of steps before catching theirself with a chuckle. Gravity was really coming for them tonight. Hearing the sound of that squealed apology, Juno turned back around immediately with a bright smile on their face, âsâalright, iâm still living,â and their grin widened a little bit at the sight of the cute girl standing in front of them. They recognized her, she was a frequent patron at the club. Immediately they shifted theirself to relax again for the conversation, one arm coming up to rest against the wall this time, a hand in their hair while the other brought their joint back up to their lips.
âDonât worry on it, love, iâve got some pretty silly fucking feet, myself. Neither of us hit the ground so iâd say weâre alright, wouldnât you agree?â They maintained eye contact as they spoke, their eyes warm and golden like amber. Their tongue fiddled a bit with one of the studs in their lip. The grin never left their face. âYou out for a smoke, calling it a night...?â
