So there’s a post where someone suggested that in Rey’s vision, the moment where Kylo Ren stabs the other Knight of Ren was not something that happened in the past, but in the future. Which makes sense, given the weird, active interaction that Rey seems to be having in something that is supposed to be a dream vision, where the Knight of Ren is apparently about to tangibly kill her.
What I think would be amazing is that maybe we’re actually seeing a sneak peek of the moment of Kylo Ren’s redemption.
Just as choosing to kill the Emperor and thus save his son was Anakin Skywalker’s redeeming act:
It’s possible that Kylo Ren is going to be paralleling his grandfather’s redemption by choosing to betray Snoke and his followers in order to rescue Rey. That Rey will once again, sometime in the future, find herself on that rainy field about to be attacked, and Kylo Ren will find himself unable to allow her to die.
It’s pretty much undeniable that Han Solo and Princess Leia’s son will be redeemed, especially given the relentless emphasis we’ve had on Kylo’s pull towards the light. They’ve also purposefully set up Kylo’s attraction and connection with Rey, so it wouldn’t be totally out of nowhere if she was the impetus in his abandonment of the Dark Side.
“He has too much of Vader in him” is what Han and Leia lament about Kylo Ren. Vader was driven by love to save someone and was thereby restored to his former goodness; maybe the grandson that idolizes him so much will be as well?
