@just-a-simple-doll
Doll time!! :3 scooping you under the arms and carrying you off to the bed :33 time for Doll :3333 placing you softly making sure nothings out of place and stacking some plushies around you its Doll time :3c
being a doll is so hard sometimes because you just don't feel anything. there's nothing you want to do, nothing you want to talk about. if you don't have a purpose then what is the point to any movement or activity? it just feels wasted and needless.
A doll whose mainspring snaps. It happens suddenly one day, without rhyme nor reason, right in the middle of its duties. Its owner hastily pulls it aside, out of danger. She apologizes tearfully, admitting fault for always procrastinating and setting the doll's maintenance aside and she promises to get the doll repaired as soon as possible. With a reassuring smile, she sets the doll somewhere safe and turns away, throwing one last look of pity and sorrow over her shoulder as she leaves.
And so the doll waits. It waits for days. It waits for weeks. It waits for months. It waits for years. Finally, someone opens the closet the doll's been stored in again. It's someone that the doll does not recognize. For a fleeting moment, the doll lets itself get its hopes up. Is this the doll repairer its owner promised so long ago? But it's not. The new person remarks on the doll's antique qualities, a voice over their shoulder, this one familiar, mentions a broken mainspring and names a price. The new person agrees with a nod.
When the doll arrives at its new home, its new owner pulls it through the halls of their unfamiliar home and sets it in a small room littered with tools and spare parts. The doll's new owner promises that tomorrow, they will certainly replace that mainspring and return its mobility once more. The doll has hope, and so it waits. It waits for days. It waits for weeks. It waits for months. It waits for years.
The door to the unused workshop finally creeks open. The silhouette of a child slips in and draws to the doll's side. She runs her finger across the doll's arm, drawing a line out of the thick dust on its body. Soon after her, another person follows in, a person the doll somehow knows to be its owner. They're older now, with greying hair and a hunched posture. The child begs their grandparent up and down if she can have the doll for herself, seeing as it's unused. The doll's owner nods with a smile. Of course she can have it. They'll get it fixed very soon, and then it'll be all hers. And so the doll waits. It waits for days. It wits for weeks. It waits for months. It waits for years. Until at last, it stops waiting.
upon completing a task, a doll will look for the next suitable task regardless of whether or not that task has been assigned to that particular doll. therefore, it's important to lay out the exact set of tasks needed at the beginning or direct the doll to exit task mode upon completion.
my name is Dolly Fallover and I live on the Floor
girl who is definitely mentally okay and not a doll: anyways here's my elaborate comfort scenario where i give up my (fake) 'humanity' and (fake) 'freedom' to given purpose and identity through servitude to a higher being that understands and cares for me more than any human ever has. those are normal thoughts to be thinking btw
dollgirl built like one of those old wooden artist's mannequins, the ones with the ball joints attached by springs at tension
it's not very subtle when it moves, full of the musical twinges and twangs of its springs readjusting, along with occasional hollow, slightly metallic knocks as the segments of its wooden body tap together
how lovely to be so assured of one's own existence
Dolly nap time *goes limp and falls down a flight of stairs*
moving has been too much for this doll’s body. it needs to just Lay Still for a millennia now
being driven to work, completely limp and motionless in the passenger seat. nodding in response to anything said, but otherwise entirely still. regaining feeling and purpose only once at work, snapping upright and putting on a smile and walking like it's natural for me. making conversation, responding to other people with practiced words. pretending to be human. collapsing once more after work, joints no longer able to hold my own weight. motionless and limp once again.
the totally not exhausted and depressed girl wants to be a doll lying on the floor
Why is the human body so strange? Where are my doll joints?
they should invent doll hrt
girl who can't thrive unless she's "useful" to doll who found its purpose pipeline
dollification is appealing to some because it provides the ultimate fantasy of taking a goddamn break from thinking for a bit
