I just wanna get out some of my more wholesome hc's before I turn the blender back on. Mostly Celine and her B- parenting (actually loving and being a good teacher to the girls. The generational trauma is what weighed down her score), but also Polytrix and Polylight hc's because I can't help myself
I really like the idea of the girls being like Celine/Celine being like the girls in some capacity
Rumi got her personality (kind but isolated. Confident and sure of herself. Self-sacrificing and self-loathing but good at hiding it from the people around her.)
Mira and her are alike in how they express themselves (blunt and straight to the point. Holding themselves with poise trained into them since childhood. Yet very affectionate and sweet to the people they care about and trust)
Zoey and Celine are twinning in their problem solving and quick wit(for Celine it was more born out of anxiety than people pleasing tendencies, but it still counts!)
One of my favourite hc's that I have is that Rumi picked up Celine's anxious habit of fiddling with her hands. But constantly picking at ones nailbeds is not good for you, nor can the nervousness be too obvious for the public(the media would swoop in like vultures). So Celine teaches Rumi socially acceptable ways of fiddling. Specifically some pretty cool things. Like rolling a coin over her knuckles, or rolling a ring around her fingers. or spinning a pen between her fingers. Repetitive motions that can be soothing, but look pretty dope to the public eye so she won't be crucified for it.
Both Zoey and Mira do bond with Celine because I like to also think that Celine can relate to both of their ways of growing up.
Her own parents were demanding of her and expecting her to act like the perfect daughter(not a generational wealth family like I hc Mira's as, but instead a family of doctors. Whether that be actual medical doctors, or people with doctorates didn't matter. If you weren't a doctor, then you had to be working towards becoming one. Performance and art were not viable goals in her family.) (the biggest difference between Mira and Celine in that regard is that Celine went along with it. Tried to live up to their expectations, even when she never could. Turning herself into the perfect doll to be paraded around, until she lashed out once which was enough for her parents to disregard her completely. Wasn't hard to get them to basically disown her so she could join a k-pop band after that.)
She helped Zoey out a lot since I hc Celine as the secret maknae of the sls. They pretended she was older so she wouldn't get flack for being the leader of the group while so young. She knows the creepy behavior of some "fans" and made sure all the girls were prepared, but Zoey especially. It was bad for Mi-yeong who wasn't actually the youngest, she wanted to make sure Zoey, who was actually the youngest was as prepared as she could be.
They also bonded over mixed backgrounds since I saw @infinity-is-also-zero's hc that Celine is half French and I am yoinking that and running with it.
I just fucking love the trope of characters who speak multiple languages and then use those languages to express their love for the people they care about in a language those people don't understand.
Zoey was slightly heartbroken when Mira and Rumi's English got good enough for them to fully understand everything she said to them. (which was far too soon for poor Zoey's taste. They were training to be idols after all, and English is a very large and useful language to know, so both of them learned quickly.)
She begged Celine to teach her French, but gave up within a week because the French language is bullshit and robbed 15 other languages for their grammar and then smushed it into it's own language.
Celine almost never speaks the language herself, even if she is obviously completely fluent. Therefore Rumi basically only knows pet names/terms of endearment that Celine uses with her and the other girls. All three of them respond to and will snap their heads up to "Ma chére" while only Rumi answers to "Ma poupette" (someone French tell me if I fucked up the grammar for those or if the terms don't make sense, I did a two minute google search).
Funnily enough, Mira speaks the most French out of the three of them, growing up with tutors her parents assigned her. She's not fluent, but she could hold a basic conversation. Mostly she uses it to cuss because she knows it startles Celine every time she does it. Like hearing the same tone you use for your alarm out in the wild.
That being said, Rumi used to speak a lot of French when she was a toddler, because it was the language Celine defaulted to when stressed or emotional. Which was constantly, in Rumi's younger years. When Celine stopped speaking it to her, she soon enough forgot most of it. She wasn't even old enough to really have concrete memories of ever speaking the language when she later grew up, and Celine never told her. (If she ever tried to pick it (back)up, she and Mira(because it's probably Mira who helps her out at first) will both be extremely surprised at how good her pronunciation is.)
(Celine had to force herself to always speak in Korean so that Rumi wouldn't accidentally develop an accent or something similar. She couldn't be influenced by Celine too much, Celine was not a person who's footsteps should be followed.)
On a completely unrelated note: Fuck all of you who managed to calculate that Mira is probably around 5'6. She is 5'9 in my heart and likes wearing heels which makes her about 5'11 - 6 feet because fuck yeah
Also, Celine is seen to be taller than Mira in the opening scene introducing Rumi, so she is at least 6' tall in my book.
Specifically 184cm instead of the more accurate 182,88cm that 6feet would translate into. (184 cm would be about 6' feet 0.44 inches). (Her own shoes is what make her taller than Mira while still wearing heels. Mira is salty about it)
On a completely related note: Rumi was a monkey child. And Celine is tall, so she was free real estate. Celine resigned herself to being a personal jungle gym for her half demon child very quickly.
She was also a little daredevil. Always climbing super tall things and jumping off of them. Always without fear, because she knew Celine would catch her(even if she grumbled about having to use her hunter strength to leap the distance needed to catch her. At least it kept her sharp)
It was not uncommon to see hardass CEO Celine Kwon with a bright-eyed child sitting on her shoulders, hanging on to her leg while she walked or dangling from her arm. No one dared to question it (and Rumi was too adorable)
The jungle gym situation actually took a while to end. it only really died down when Rumi was ~13. it completely stopped after she was 14.
The "catch" routine never died down tho, not fully. Contrary, it expanded to Mira and Zoey as well.
Zoey is showing off on a skateboard but doesn't see the tiny rock in her path, which absolutely fucks her up and she's now about to eat shit? Celine grabs the back of her hoodie and holds her like a bag before gently putting her down like a cat.
Mira is in that gangly state of growth were all your limbs are a bit too long and uncoordinated, and whoops, her ankle decided to say 'fuck you' while she was practicing choreography and now she's about to face plant on the floor? Celine has an arm around her stomach and hauling her back to her feet before Mira has the chance to be embarrassed about falling in front of her two crushes/soulmates best friends.
It's not even a hunter thing. it's just mom instincts.
Mira is the first one to realize she's in love with Zoey and Rumi. She hides it for years because she doesn't want to ruin things.
Zoey is next, and she realizes soon after the idol awards. She panics and cannot function properly for a few days(which worries the other two) before she puts it in a lock box in her mind. She also doesn't want to ruin things.
Rumi's is last(ofc) to realize, and it happens a few months/years after the idol awards(the girls need to heal and I want Polytrix to happen after they've reconciled with Celine, sue me). She also panics and immediately calls Celine to make sure it isn't just some strange honmoon/soulmate thing that she's mistaking for romantic love. Celine(who has had a bet going with Bobby for years about when the girls will get their shit together.) will just be like "Oh yeah, being in love with your bandmates is totally normal and you should tell them."
Polylight was not knowledge known by the public, it was extremely hidden and Celine herself never actually told Rumi about this aspect of her relationship with her mother and the third sunlight sister(Soo-min).
It takes a few weeks after that for Polytrix to get together(Celine lost the bet), and only then does Rumi catch up to what Celine actually said.
"You were in love with my mother????"
"Yes? I feel like that was very clear"
"Huh. I really thought I had the whole 'mourning my dead lovers' vibe down to pat."
"Rumi. You have two partners too."
"I'm not judging! Just... Both of them?"
"Reciprocated? I sure hope so, otherwise Mi-yeong proposing to us would be a fairly strange gesture. And Soo-min and I planning the flight for us to the Netherlands so we could actually get married even stranger."
"That's an engagement ring???????"
"No, that's my wedding ring."
(Celine doesn't mentioned that they never actually got to take the trip. Mi-yeong and Soo-min died not long after they started planning the trip)
Celine still has all of their engagement rings + her own wedding ring. Mi-yeong and Soo-min were buried wearing theirs.
She's always wearing her wedding ring. But she also wears all of the engagement rings.
Her own engagement ring on her right hand, while fitting the other two on the same hand (Mi-yeong's goes on her pointer finger, because she used a pinch draw with her bow, while Soo-min's goes on her middle finger, since they had fairly similar finger-sizes, Soo-mins hands being smaller, but very rough from the calluses she got from wielding her axe.)
Mi-yeong was the first to realize that she was in love with her bandmates in regards to polylight(The apple does fall far from the tree in this case!). She proceeded to fully process that information and then start testing the waters with the other two.(which drove both of them insane for reasons they didn't figure out at first)
Soo-min was next, even tough she hadn't even realized she was into women at that point. It was a lot to deal with, but she was enamored and that wasn't going away anytime soon. At least she finally figured out why Mi-yeong's teasing and prodding was getting such a reaction out of her... Wait.
Soo-min and Mi-yeong actually confess to each other first (very much like the common trope we see with Zoeymira being in a relationship before they can manage to get Rumi involved as well), and they don't exactly keep it a secret from Celine (because they want her to notice and to start thinking about the possibilities), but Celine is already a workaholic and has been fluent in the language of repression her entire life. So she neither realizes that she's in love with them or that they're together for the longest time. (that's where the apple fell from! *in game show host voice* Celine, you are the father!")
It takes months for Celine to notice. The only thing she does notice is that the connection she has to her girls through the honmoon seems both happier and sadder at the same time somehow. And teh only reason she does notice at all, is because she literally walks in on them making out.
She just walks backwards out of the room, very very slowly and hopes to high hell neither noticed her.(They did. It was planned. They were both at the end of their fucking rope. They had fully sat her down and told her "We're in love with you" and she just responded "Yeah, I love you too?" and then continued doing paperwork or taxes or smth. This was the intervention)
It works though. It basically fucking blows up the safe where Celine kept all her troublesome emotions locked away and now she's a yearning mess. Which very quickly leads to another sit-down. This time where they are abundantly clear that, yes, they are together, and yes, they want to be together with her too, please for the love of Sappho can we alljustmakeoutalready????
Mi-yeong is a physical touch and words of affirmation type of gal.
Soo-min is a physical touch and quality time type of gal.
Celine is a physical touch and acts of service type of gal.
Therefore, one of their favorite activities is cooking.
And by cooking i mean Celine is cooking while Soo-min and Mi-yeong are pressed against her, one hugging her from the front while the other is hugging her from the back, also managing to hold on to each other. It's inconvenient while cooking at best, but none of them would have it any other way.
Celine is almost always in the middle if they together. Not because she prefers it, but because Soo-min and Mi-yeong like leaning against her.
And also because it is a deeply engraved habit of theirs, since make no mistake. Celine might be the tall and intimidating one, but Mi-yeong and Soo-min are the ones who bite.
They grew to be very protective very early, since Celine was actually the youngest, but dealing with people treating her like she wasn't. The creeps tended to be more drawn to her since she was "legal" so to speak(when in reality she really wasn't).
It's obviously not that the girls thought she couldn't handle herself, but instead that they thought she shouldn't have to.
Celine was the one who took care of them and made sure they were safe while fighting demons, the least they could do was ensure her safety while they were fighting vultures.
Celine is the tallest. Therefore, as nature's law, none of her clothes are her own. (she definitely doesn't choke on her own spit every time one of her partners walks around the house in nothing but one of her button ups. And she definitely doesn't curl up around those same button ups that still smell a bit like them after they die.)

Celine is the tallest, and she is very tall. Mi-yeong and Soo-min are extremely into it.
Mi-yeong doesn't really care about what her hair looks like. She wasn't really supposed to have a signature braid. But Celine gets anxious and fiddles with her hands, so the natural solution was to get her to braid her hair. Soo-min is the one to then decorate the braid with the flowers and other trinkets.
