is a dorm in south considered a part of the charles river campus? (i have the charles river housing grant and might move from hojo to south so wanted to check if it’ll be covered or not)
Yes, all BU dorms/on-campus apartments on the CRC and Fenway campuses are considered on-campus housing for the CRC Housing Grant.
The only time I had my CRC Housing Grant taken away was when I studied abroad for a semester. And if you move off campus you lose the grant.
Is the Charles River housing grant considered taxed additional income when filing taxes?
I’m not sure if it’s considered taxable income. I would recommend checking with Financial Aid about that. Their phone number is 617-353-2965 and their email is [email protected].
If I’m a continuing BU student, do I still have swipe access to the residence halls during the summer even if I’m not taking summer classes?
Unless you currently live on campus I don’t think so
I'm going to be a rising sophomore next year and I was wondering if it's weird to go random for housing again
not really, im a senior with random roommates and its perfectly fine
What is given to you in a stuvi apartment in terms of cooking supplies? Like pots and pans??
nothing, all cooking items must be brought by you
I'm a rising sophomore who applied for new housing in summer swap and would like to know if there is any knowledge of email responses from housing. ☺️
if you ask them what your chances are they’ll say they do not know. So Summer Swaps go until August 1st and then they're done so if you do not receive an email by then with an offer they couldn't find anything for you.
However then you are able to fill our a room swap application which just goes through the regular year. where they’ll email you any offer they have for you
hey so i have a lab in sci that ends at 4.20 and i want to have my calc discussion be the 4.30 in epc. is the 10 minutes enough time to make that possible or should i just suck it up and choose another calc discussion?
yeah thats not a far walk you should be able to make that
Hello, I am an incoming freshman living in Warren for the 2017-18 school year. I was wondering if I am able to access other study lounges in dorms other than mine such as StuVi2 or Kilachand? Or is this not allowed?
As long as you live on Campus you’re able to swipe into other BU Dorm buildings as long as its not 2 am? I think you can swipe into all buildings until 2am and after that only your dorm but im not 100% on the exact time
I have three questions, sorry in advance. 1) Is it possible to use bed risers in Warren A or everything actually nailed to the ground like I keep hearing? 2) Is it possible to rearrange furniture or, again, is everything attached to the ground? 3) Is five classes in one day too much or is it better to have a later class and spread them out? Thank you so much, this is so helpful!
A:
Nothing is nailed down, I lived in A tower so you can move and use bed risers. It really depends on how you feel i know i cant handle 5 classes in one day but if you feel you might be able to thats totally up to you
I'm a rising sophomore and after the normal housing selection I found out all my friends were moving to the opposite side of campus. I submitted the summer swap form. How effective is summer swap? And when will I find out? I'm getting super anxious
It depends year to year and on what you are looking for. You could find out as late as a couple of days before moving in, they started handling things out about a week ago but i totally understand as im also currently summer swapping.
But keep in mind summer swap goes from worst senior number, to best sophomore number, so the better your number was the least priority you have and ill tell you that i had a senior number in the 9 thousands and havent heard anything yet.
I just got an email saying that I got a package delivered to the mailroom in my dorm, but I'm currently studying abroad. How do I get my package?
you can email reslife and ask them to either forward the package to where you are or another address
Sinks in Warren Towers
Is there a sink where you can wash dishes/cups in Warren or do you just use the bathroom?
Answer:
There should be a sink in the common room of each floor for you to wash your dishes. Though if your floor does not have one try the bathrooms or another floor!
I'm a rising senior with a mid 4,000 number. What are the chances that I get a bay state apartment for my roommate and myself
Probably pretty decent, summer swap is always an option but it really depends on what the demand for this year is
What are the chances of a rising junior with a 16706 housing number getting myself and two others into StuVi 2 with internal selection? Is there hope for me?
It varies year to year but with internal selection I would say yes but again it depends what people want each year and the demand is always different.
Is a rising sophomore with number 25660 is good or bad number?
That is around the middle of the Sophomores, all info can be found at http://www.bu.edu/housing/assignments/selection/numbers/
I'm a rising senior with a housing lottery number in the lower 4000s. What are the chances of me getting a double in 1047 for next year?
Theyre pretty solid, but if you don’t you can always do summer swap, and that usually works out so that you get what you want.
