Being alive and happy is like punching the gut of the people who hate you.
Stay alive, enjoy the beauty of the world (that you helped to make beautiful by breathing) make your enemies suffer through existing
small brown rodent-like mammals could be used as a very powerful explosive, and destroyed the lab they were in

watching a scene with a fav character can be so humiliating sometimes. like yes i'm watching this scene with this character because i want to see the character. yes i've paused it multiple times because i got too excited. before the character fully entered the screen even. guhhhh
In terms of establishing the fundamental aesthetic of the 1990s strand of cinematic cyberpunk, the 1993 Super Mario Bros. adaptation is probably up there with Johnny Mnemonic and Lawnmower Man influence-wise, as much as we all hate to admit it.
What the fuck
Welcome to the "learned from this post that the first major live-action feature film adaptation of a pre-existing video game franchise was a dystopian cyberpunk AU of Super Mario Bros. for some inexplicable reason" club.
I do believe the stink of this movie saved us from some far worse projects. I have no idea what those would have been, but I believe.
Are you kidding? This film was the vanguard; it may have tanked in theatres, but the novelty of it led to a number of bandwagon-jumping projects in following years. After Super Mario Bros. dropped in 1993, we had Double Dragon and the Jean-Claude Van Damme Street Fighter in 1994, then Paul W S Anderson's Mortal Kombat in 1995; the unexpected commercial success of the latter film was reportedly the deciding factor when Angelina Jolie accepted the lead role in Tomb Raider a few years later, which in turn kicked off the second wave of major live-action video game adaptations in the early 2000s that gave us the Resident Evil films
Don't forget the 𝘋𝘰𝘰𝘮 Movies
I prefer to focus on positive outcomes.

Everything in the dinosaur dimension runs on electricity because the fact that dinosaurs never went extinct there means there's no oil.
No, seriously; that's the actual, textual explanation for why the cars look like that.
Maybe the most damming thing about Nolans odyssey is i haven’t seen a single gifset from it

reading the wiki for the american psycho movie every single thing it’s saying about christian bale has me in tears …….. he literally wanted the role so bad he got that buff in two weeks, rejected every other offer for 9 months while the producers tried to get dicaprio to be patrick bateman bc bale knew dicaprio would chicken out, went to dinner with the director and the guy who wrote the novel IN CHARACTER apparently scaring the shit out of the novelist, took the role for $50k, and then made all his costars think he was a giant freak bc he never fucking broke character, and APARENTLY LITERALLY HAS CONTROL OVER HIS SWEAT GLANDS AND USED THIS IN THE BUSINESS CARD SCENE
ok thanks for the info wiki
Hey Paul!
It brings me comfort that, for a brief moment, Jared Leto genuinely believed Christian Bale was going to kill him with an axe
btw it is sexy and cool to uplift and admire people who have skills you wish you had without using their ability as a stick to beat yourself with. even and especially if you are jealous of them.
Did you know? That the back is made up of terrible and evil muscles that are only waiting for their chance to betray you
