Rewatching Voltron season 1 and being constantly amazed by just how good the show used to be. What do you mean (most) of the jokes were funny?? What do you mean the animation was great?? What do you mean Shiro’s PTSD was explored and had an impact on the plot?? What do you mean the plot twists were well-foreshadowed and exciting?? What do you mean one episode led seamlessly into another, in a way that made sense?? What do you mean Hunk got great character development?? What do you mean the team looked like it was actually bonding??

May time! May is time for friends. They take their group of friends to the lake - anyone who was free to go - and then those who couldn’t too. They can be very persistent together if they want to. They rent a small cottage and have a tent pulled up (Keith and Lance get kicked out to the tent on the first night, it’s a given). They spend time swimming, laughing, accidentally setting things on fire and Keith and Lance end up trying to one up each other in who can breakdance better on the grass (none of them, they just start flirting).

At the end of the day Hunk is the last one to tell them goodnight, but they would still sit around engrossed in each other, cooing like a newlywed couple.

Pidge walks out of the cottage to remind them to keep it quiet at night. Keith and Lance start laughing, until Shiro adds it’s not a suggestion. Then they laugh so hard, they end up dragging one another away from the house.

This is one of my fav scenes. "Cargo pilot" Lance takes charge, comes up with a plan, and Keith listens (much to Keith's surprise). It's everything Lance always wanted. I think it was pretty arguable that s1 was setting up BP Lance/RP Keith as endgame. Keith's expressions are top notch here too, too bad they ditched this version of Keith in the end...

I mentioned publishing a piece per one sold KICK Friday PDF, so here is one!

This is not available in either PDFs (nor was it a part of things posted in 2023, though I think I shared it on Lens at least). I will try to keep posting sketches that aren't part of PDFs for some time, but if you've read it or remember any private Patreon posts - if I were to pick a piece from the inside, which one would you like to see published?

Adam teaching Keith Spanish, so when Lance angry yells (aggressively complements) at him in Spanish, Keith is able to pick up on a few words here and there.

Lance is very embarrassed when Keith says he sorta understands what he says or better yet replies back in Spanish.
