Ever wondered what happens inside the pneumatic transport tubes they use in banks and hospitals? I did, so I put a camera in it. Reminds me of Sliders.

Computer Vision constantly measures a red Siamese Fighting Fish, displaying its dimensions on a tablet.
Completed for Golan Levin’s Interactive Art and Computational Design course at Carnegie Mellon.
This is quite frankly, perfect.

Seventy Seven will have been running for two years as of the 12th April, so we thought we would at least do something. As we’ve been quiet in the past few months, we settled on blogging something every day up until May.
Anyway, moving on from largely emotionless celebration-formalities - keep...
Seventy Seven is I blog a co-author on the side. I try to keep my posts less art-focussed than on this one, but don't be afraid to check it out. After all, it's 2nd Birthday is this month, it would be rude not to.

Trophy, Conrad Shawcross, 2012
Shawcross gave a talk at Leeds College of Art last week, I popped in, it was good. This work is one of his most recent, inspired by the painting either side of it, the robotic arm and the stag's antler represent Diana and Acteon respectively. Perhaps it's not immediately obvious, but the antler was crafted by the robotic arm; I'm a fan, especially of the synthesis of the story. More images and video in the 'Lightworks' section here.

The Decelerator Helmet - Lorenz Potthast
“processed by a small computer, the helmet uses a video-signal of a camera to slow down the stream seen via a head-mounted display and simultaneously shown at a monitor on the outside”
Crazy idea; however, I am very curious. More info in the video here. (source)

Kiyonori Kikutake, 1928-2011
Kikutake produced some of the most unlimited, yet thorough, utopian concepts; most of his concepts were either high-rise towers or water-based cities, or a mixture of both. The guy was responsible for some fantastic models too.(via)
So I surfed into a collection of 360 Degree video clips of stuff in Malaysia. This one beats them all though: watching monkeys attempt to steal the camera from every angle is priceless. I sympathise with the cameraman. (Source)
"House of the Bulgarian Communist Party" - Mount Buzludzha - 1981
The Communists new how to throw together a fine ass building. Even if it didn't have any true purpose. More pictures and vague information here. (via)
So Frank Lloyd Wright's Petra Island (1959) is up for sale. All 11 acres of it. Shame it's in the shape of a love heart, that's a bit wet. Still, gonna send them a cheque for the $19,900,000 asking price (Don't tell 'em it'll bounce). (via)(source)(photos)
Citroën Karin. Car presented at the Paris Motor Show 1980
Check this shit out. It's all tasty on the dashboard front, but I've purposefully omitted the colour photos of the beige exterior, search them if you want to see why. Things to note: interior door handles, radio/calculator/phone type thing in the left footwell, and the rear view camera and screen.

Davenport Public Library - Edward Durell Stone - 1968
It's an unbelievably good photo, alas I cannot find the photographer's name.

This looks, fresh. More info here.
