FUCK 4th of July, the only thing I’m celebrating is the day this bad boy dropped
specially written for @ashreo5ever i love u <3 lowk lost the plot midway ehh sorryuh
you’ve been crying a lot lately. seemingly small things pile into big things, but even minor inconveniences set you off. you cry in the comfort of your own room—sometimes even the bathroom.
but never in front of other people.
oh, god no. never in front of other people.
do not be a burden.
but your boyfriend, rin matsuoka, is trying to convince you that he’s not just some “other person”.
you should be able to rely on him!
its one of those days, again. usually, you’re able to keep your emotions in check. get through the day without needing a suspicious amount of bathroom breaks, and coming back with swollen eyes.
this morning, you can’t get out of bed. the morning air is not so kind to you, nor are the thoughts in your head.
don’t bother. it doesn’t matter. stay home. no one would care if you—
“good morning, love,” you open your eyes to find a messy head of maroon-ish hair and a shark-like grin looking down at you. you blink once. twice. three times.
“rin?”
“the one and only,” he flops down beside you, losing his balance and accidentally landing on you. you groan, shifting to ease the discomfort, but not pushing him off of you.
“what’re you doing here?” you ask, pushing yourself up against the headboard of your bed to take a better look at him. one of your hands find his hair, gaze finding his delicate, love-personified features.
“came to see you. ‘m guessing no school for us today, hm?” he turns to lay on his side, shuffling to lay on your lap, over your blanket. your fingers rake through his hair, absentmindedly humming.
“yeah, i guess,” you exhale, eyes fluttering shut for a moment. his lips can hardly stay pursed together, as he waits for you to realise. “wait, wait, wait.”
“yes?” he feigns innocence. your eyebrows furrow a little, a sign escaping your lips for what you assume will be one of at least a hundred today.
“who is “we”? i am staying home, and you are going to school. as per usual,” you roll onto your side, facing away from him. as you burry your face in your pillows, he props his head on your hip, trying to get your attention.
“we, as in you and me. now, let me borrow something to change into,” he jumps up from your bed, removing his school bag and uniform blazer. you sigh in response, without complaints, before he opens your closet and searches for something that would be a little loose for you.
a few minutes later—with rustling of clothing, being both removed and put on—, he slips into bed beside you, wrapping his arm around the pillow you were suffocating your face in.
“leave me alone,” you grumble, complain muffled by the pillow.
“nope!” he beams, hugging you tightly with his other arm.
eventually, you give in, melting into his embrace. a few moments pass—it goes from 8am in the morning to about noon?? what?!—, and you wake up in his arms, head resting on his bicep.
woah, woah, woah. you could’ve sworn you kicked him out!
“good afternoon again, darl’. ready for school?” he teases, getting a kick to his shins.
“oh, you wish,” you stick out your tongue, grinning at him.
today was a little different, to most other days. you didn’t cry, and rin thinks he’s one step closer to… well, you.

Fairey Swordfish MkI W5856 carrying a 18" torpedo.
W5856 is currently painted to represent the Fleet Air Arms 820 Naval Air Squadron with Invasion Stripes.
This Fairey Swordfish is the oldest Swordfish still in existence having first flown on the 21st of October 1941 (Trafalgar Day). Orginally serving with the Royal Navy Mediterranean Fleet before being transferred to the Royal Canadian Navy in 1944 for use as a training aircraft till the end of the war.
After the war she was sold at least two civilian pilots before being sold to Sir William Roberts as part of his Strathallen Collection. British Aerospace brought her in 1990 to restore her to flying condition before they gifted her to Navy Wings in 1993. In 1996 the City of Leeds adopted W5856 as a tribute to the local companies who helped build Swordfishs.
In 2003 she was grounded by corrosion on her wing spars, however in 2012 BAe Systems built a new set of wings for W5856, with help from the Peter Harrison Heritage Foundation she was finally returned back to airworth condition with W5856 rejoining the display circuit in 2015.
