When Snufkin was told his usual hat, boots and coat were too soiled to be worn in a ball, he wasn't exactly happy about it. Luckily, just before he could give up on going, he found a neat knitted dress by his sleeping bag that seemed to have been trampled down and walked over right after being made by some sort of... Moominmamma.
Which was great, once he was most definitely not wearing anything clean and sparkly, ever.

Look I'm sorry to anyone who thought the Saja Boys were a real band, but it was obviously fake from the beginning.
Huntr/x has been doing this gimmick for years where they'll put on a performance and some actors dressed up like demons will "interrupt" it or get into some choreo fights on stage and stuff. If you're a fan you know, the demons usually symbolize things like industry corruption, Mira's struggle with her family, Rumi being in the closet, etc, and there's lots of hints and secret messages to the fans in what they're wearing or how they show up. Check out huntresx5evah on blsky they've got an extensive examination of the "demons" over the years and what the messages to the fans are.
In the concert before Golden was released, the demons were dressed like flight attendants. That was the indication that something new was about to take off. @/queenhuntrixdontmiss and I speculated that it was going to be a new single and low and behold, it was.
But then the live performance got cancelled. It's an open secret that Rumi was having vocal issues, so that was probably not planned. They needed to buy time for her to recover, so, enter the Saja Boys -- a fake band of guys really clearly pretending to be demons, they release ONE single, do a bunch of b-tier variety shows for a week, nearly all of their public appearances have Huntr/x right there, keeping the hype and energy up until Rumi can get her throat polyps removed and furthering the routine where Huntr/x are supposed to be secret demon hunters and the Saja Boys are supposed to be secret demons.
Then the whole thing culminates in the Golden live performance at the idol awards, the big act with Huntr/x fake "break up" and the subsequent theatrics to make it up to fans for failing the first Golden performance. Huntr/x takes their obligation to fans very seriously, I've no doubt that they all felt terrible about having to cancel, so a free show was the obvious recourse to try and make it up to people. And they pulled out all the stops!
But the Saja Boys were never real. I mean they got real guys to pretend to be a boy band and do the dancing and lip syncing obviously, but come on, most of them didn't even have names.
Ok so I commented on this in the tags before but I actually have a theory on this that goes deeper. Hear me out because this is honestly so meta.
You're right about the Saja Boys being part of a plan the buy Huntr/x time for Rumi's voice to heal but I think that's just the surface. Like you said, the demons usually symbolize something and I think in this case Huntr/x used the Saja Boys to represent the idol industry itself. Think about it, their first song was very catchy and cute but lyrically shallow and each of them was more of a character type than an actual person. I believe that the Saja Boys were meant to represent the formulaic approach the industry has to churning out bands and making them fit certain molds, it's highly commercial and inauthentic. And what is the biggest stage for the industry? The Idol Awards.
Huntr/x of course performs Golden to make up to the fans for the first performance being canceled, but then they interrupt their own performance to debut a new song about being pretty on the surface and hiding ugliness underneath and lying about who you are. That was not a coincidence, there have been so many articles about how fake and toxic the idol industry can be. I don't need to go over their public breakup, I'm sure none of us are really getting over the trauma anytime soon, but that was all part of the act so that the Saja Boys would win.
Cut to the Saja Boys concert (which really felt like them doing a victory lap and seemed disrespectful even though looking back now I know it was fake) and they literally perform a song called Your Idol. To me, lyrically the song can be interpreted as what people are willing to do and sacrifice to break into the industry. AND THEN Huntr/x interrupts their performance with another new song about the truth, not lying, showing your real self, and then of course the theatrics with the Saja Boys. So put it all together- my theory is that the Saja Boys weren't just a way for Huntr/x to buy time while Rumi couldn't preform, it was a 2 week long performance about how fake these bands are culminating in an attack on the industry itself and how abusive it can be while encouraging other artists to be themselves. "Killing" the Saja Boys was a metaphor for challenging industry standards and honestly so brave of them. Fearless and undefined, this is what it sounds like. The whole thing was so incredible and deep, no one could have pulled it off but them and it really just drives home what absolute queens they are.
Also felt like it was a REALLY cool way to introduce the fans to Rumi's new tattoos, too! There haven't been too many pictures since they're on hiatus, but it's pretty clearly permanent. Like, the word 'patterns' shows up a whole lot in their music, ESPECIALLY Takedown, and the demon costumes the Saja Boys had involved some INTENSE makeup with, what do you know, these flowy patterns! And the Rumi shows up with the patterns, but in softer, more inviting colors. Like a visual sign she's not perfect and she has demons but she's open about it!
So brave, honestly! It's inspiring how much their own music means to Huntr/x. How can anyone NOT love them?
