𝔖𝔥𝔞𝔪𝔢𝔩𝔢𝔰𝔰 - (behaving in a way intended to attract sexual interest, without feeling ashamed about it; unashamed especially about something that’s generally considered unacceptable )
She starts off here in this little apartment complex. She’s in the middle where everyone can see her. Clearly we don’t initially know why everyone is outside looking at her but in this shot she’s the center of attention. She has everyone around her watching her every action.
Some notable lyrics to keep in mind as we approach the next scene: “It’s been a secret for the longest time.“
We get a shot of her in what seems to be a confession booth with a female pastor. She’s there to confess her “sins” and while she’s near the pastor she tells her: “In my dreams, I do anything I want to you.“ But why just in her dreams? Because whatever it is she dreams of is considered “unholy.” Which is why we see her talking about it in a confession booth where it’s kept private.

She continues to be the center of attention as the neighbors are still surrounding her. Except this time we can see one of the houses are on fire: that she purposely set on fire. Hence why she’s in the center of the apartment complex, shamelessly watching it burn, and dancing.
Based on crime this states that she was extremely jealous. She saw something she shouldn’t have and as a result of being infuriated with her own feelings she burned the house down.
“Right now, I’m shameless
Screamin’ my lungs out for ya
Not afraid to face it.”
She continues confessing all her “sins” which then lead us to the next part. The bridge.
“There’s just inches in between us

There is tension in between us
I just wanna give in
And I don’t care if I’m forgiven”
She confessed all her sins and after the final verdict she doesn’t care if she’s not forgiven for how she feels or what she did. Whether that be for her being herself or for loving that other person so much. She was willing to metaphorically burn down her lover’s or their interest’s house in this video.

“And I’m tired of loving somebody that’s not mine.”
Why she’s acting out of jealously in the music video is because she can’t love them and hates seeing them with someone else. She loves this person so badly that she can’t act on it the way she wants to because it’s seen as “wrong.” Therefore she loves them secretly from a distance. This connects closely to the confession booth.
“My emotions are naked, they’re taking me out of my mind. ”
To symbolize her feelings being completely out of control, in the music video she started levitating in the club. They also show subtle shots of her with her lover in the dark which represents the things she does with them in her dreams.
In this shot everyone is watching her run away from her feelings. She looks back at them but she doesn’t want to do that anymore. She burned the confession booth and everything became calm afterwards.
Something interesting that I really needed to point out: they both get swallowed by people that could represent a lot of different things including fame, feelings, ect.
