The Market for Fruit
Bucky discovers slang terms and flavors he couldn’t have imagined prior to becoming the Winter Soldier. Steve can’t stop delighting in Bucky’s recovery.
When the Winter Soldier ripped a steering wheel through a windshield while riding on top of a Chevy, Bucky never would have imagined that he’d lead any sort of normal life. It’s been a few years since he destroyed Sam’s car—sorry, buddy!—and Bucky’s settled into domestic life in the suburbs in a way that would have surprised every person he knew before he got drafted back in 1941 and probably half of Hydra, too. On top of that, most of the Avengers (including Sam, who’s definitely holding a grudge about his wrecked vehicle) don’t understand why Captain America retired, moved to the wilds of Connecticut, and shacked up with a brainwashed assassin who tried to kill him.
He doesn’t mean to be smug, but he knows his strengths. Bucky’s hot, well-endowed, and very persuasive. It didn’t take much to convince Steve to give him another chance. Besides, Steve’s been in love with him since they were kids, and Bucky’s happy to fall again—this time for his best friend turned lover and not into a very deep gorge in the Alps.

My Peach and Your Plums
When Steve’s inspired by his own life to cook, it makes Bucky want to eat.
Bucky’s gone, which is what gets Steve thinking. Although he knows he can’t spend every second of every day with his favorite person, that doesn’t mean he has to like being alone in their spacious apartment. When they looked for a place to live, Steve immediately fell in love with the fifth floor walkup with floor to ceiling windows and a chef’s kitchen, but Bucky wasn’t sold.
“Steve, neither of us even knows how to cook more than peanut butter and jelly sandwiches. How can we justify a chef’s kitchen?” he’d asked in an attempt to quell Steve’s enthusiasm.
Steve remembers arguing in return, “Peanut butter and jelly sandwiches don’t require cooking, Buck. Besides, I think I want to learn.”
Because Bucky loves him more than he has sense, he’d given in, and Steve got his way. Now, they live together happily, and Steve attempts to cook every single day. There are a lot of more failures than successes, but every once in a while, Steve hits it out of the park. It’s then that Bucky looks at him with admiration, affection, and something a little bit sexier, and Steve positively melts.

There’s a witch deep in Asgard’s woods, mysterious and mercurial like the forest they reside in, dressed in a green so deep it looks nearly black, skin so white it seems translucent. They provide no name when asked but they might humour you with a spell if they are feeling gracious enough. Thor has only spotted them through the distance in the past– a fleeting glance of their figure cloaked in the half-dark of the forest as he rushed by on horseback; a breathtaking lingering shadow behind the trees as he bathed in the stream; an arcane song in the air. He never expected to find himself looking at their back in what seemed to be their abode. “I know you are awake, Odinson,” the Witch says now, never pausing cutting up something Thor can't see, never even glancing at him.
I teamed up with the incredibly talented @darklittlestory and @artforkuponuts for the Galaxy cocktails of @justapinchzine and I cannot begin to tell you what a fun experience it was to work with two of my absolutely amazing friends, beginning to end!

One of my entries for Team 8 in this year's round of @justapinchzine! The recipe for this team is chocolate chip muffins, so of course the frenemies have to fight it out and see who can get through the maze to the muffins first! Who do you think would win, Bucky or Sam?

These are magical color-changing cocktails, the spell for which is that Butterfly Pea Flower tea or powder changes from bluish purple to bright pink when it reacts to acids. There are endless ways to incorporate in into fun drinks, and I infused gin with it.

Pile frozen raspberries in a martini glass Layer in (pour over back of a spoon): 2 oz lime simple syrup 2 oz dry vermouth To change cocktail color, top up with 2 oz butterfly pea flower-infused gin

Layer frozen raspberries, blueberries, and peaches into a highball glass. Carefully layer in: 2 oz lime simple syrup 6 oz or to taste club soda 2 oz butterfly pea flower-infused gin
