While Pollination can feel more natural by virtue of team RWBY being main characters, and therefore having a lot of established bonds, I actually think that team JNPR is uniquely predicated for successfully running a polycule, far above any other team in the show.

Jaune was raised in a large family and is already established as a competent tactician.

Nora is a touch-starved orphan who has MORE than enough energy and attention to juggle this many partners.

Ren is a touch-starved orphan who’s a good mediator, attentive to others physical needs, and probably would love making schedules for fun.

And Pyrrha has experience doing PR, infinite patience, but also just needs people in her life who can let her feel normal SO bad.

Basically, these four would run a household like well oiled machine. They’d be so fucking good at planning dates and living together and making sure everyone is doing well. Dream polycule.

The Story of Blake and Yang means a lot to me. Watching them since Volume 2 slowly growing and becoming closer together means a lot to me. And now RWBY is getting closer to wrapping up than starting which is sad to say. But I will always have them to look back upon.

thinking about Blake carrying Yang back to the others during the Fall of Beacon. thinking about how she had to painstakingly drag her along while her wound actively bled, how she had to put one foot in front of the other knowing it was all her fault, how she had to deal with the constant fear that Adam was there, and they had to run, and he was going to get them. thinking about Blake collapsing once they're finally there, breaking down as the medics stitch and bandage her up. thinking about how the others have never seen Blake so vulnerable, have never listened to her gasp and sob Yang's name, muttering senseless apologies, delirious from the blood loss. thinking about Blake running away from them and ripping the stitches and desperately trying to stop the bleeding. thinking about Blake seeing the blood on her hands and thinking of Yang and not being able to move from the guilt. thinking about how the wound never healed properly. thinking about how Blake didn't let it heal properly. just kinda thinking about post-v3 Blake.

Actually, about my previous post and the horror of not being discarded. I'm gonna bring up a different fandom here. In RWBY one of the main tragedies of Penny Polendina's character is that she was not given many opportunities to make choices and decide for herself until it was too late. She always has to fight for her agency in her life.

And I've seen someone comment that this makes her being brought back to life after her death in vol 3 finale another example of her tragically lacking a choice. As she had no say in if she wanted to come back. At the time I didn't really get it, what could possibly be bad about another chance at living. But now I see it.

I think it would be pretty sick if she was brought back to life again, after her death explicitly being her choice. And it being explored as a similar type of horror, a great example of coming back wrong. That would probably not happen in the actual show, but with how many fans want her to come back I think it would be a great set up for a fic.
