Anyone else nervous about the budget trims that are supposed to happen in for 10?
From what I looked into there might be fewer episodes, for now, ABC plans on keeping its core cast together but after Bobby was killed off for budget reasons I really don't trust them,a new filming format could shake things up, maybe focusing more on character-driven drama rather than bit disaster emergencies.
It's expected that the show's focus is going to remain on the 118, but I wonder what they are going to do with May and Athena.
The thing that's confirmed is that there will be an entirely new filming format which could be the high gloss look of the show, or something like 9-1-1 Nashville is doing.
I think this could involve the cliffhanger Tim Minear said we're supposed to be getting, which could help bridge whatever shake-up might be coming in s10.
I've also seen debates on if S10 will be its last season, which shows like Blue Bloods and 9-1-1 Lone Star have gotten the "Budget Trims." Treatment before they were cancelled. But the show remains one of the top shows on ABC in the 18-49 age range.
But it's not just 9-1-1, nearly all of ABC's scripted shows are getting it, like The Rookie, Grey's Anatomy, Will Trent,9-1-1 Nashville, they want both 9-1-1 and Nashville under a more sustainable financial model, and Abbot Elementary.
So we'll see. What are your thoughts on the budget trims? What do you guys think will happen?
