I'm preparing to write a Team Dark-centered fanfic. Any tips or "musts" to make sure I keep these three in character, especially with Omega (because his characterization in Chronicles was just so amazing)?
- He values his allies even if he isn’t very ‘forward’ with expressing it.
- He puts in his two cents no matter how coldly honest it is.
- He’s not prone to following the whims of others and has his guard up regarding attempted manipulation, making it difficult to get him to go along with something if he’s against it.
- He does not like humans. He will follow the orders issued by his human superiors in GUN however.
- He’s not mega-prone to Maria flashbacks as he put the past behind him as of his own self-titled game. He remembers her fondly though.
- Shadow is not perturbed by obstacles in his way - He tackles things regardless of the danger. He holds true to his aims and does not evade a path due to the dangers posed. This is actually stated in his SONIC CHANNEL profile.
- Just…put Archie Rouge out of your mind. Flynn doesn’t know how to characterize her. See Treasure Team Tango for a particularly good example in which Rouge was so uncharacteristically mean that she refused to hand over the Sol Emerald even when told that Blaze’s world hung in the balance. Rouge is not adverse to other’s needs in the interests of collecting jewels, SHE’S NOT HEARTLESSLY GREEDY. Obsession with getting what she wants =/= “Heartless bitch”. Look to Sonic Battle; She gave Emerl a completed Emerald so he could advance himself. Look to SA2; She willingly handed-over the remaining Emerald shards so that Knuckles could complete the Master Emerald.
- She is very eloquent when it comes to writing reports and the like. Not dumb at all. Very sharp-minded and quick on the uptake. Rouge is far from stupid. However, she can be distracted by jewels.
- She acts and speaks in a sometimes beguiling fashion. If Shadow is the stoic one, Rouge is the one to make jests and act in a more social way. She’s the one who tries to inject life into the group’s interactions as Omega is relentlessly goal-oriented and serious and Shadow isn’t very talkative or jovial.
- Omega is not a speciesist. He does not refer to humans or anthropes as “Meatbags”
- He does not destroy for the sake of destruction unless it’s Eggman-related. Omega is not a destruction-obsessed loon. If destruction suits his aims then he’ll do it, he will not do it for the sake of doing it.
- He has great personal pride. He considers himself the strongest of Eggman’s robots. He is not happy when he is delegated to doing something that he feels is “beneath him” (Such as being put into standby mode to guard a room)
- He has an intense dislike of Dr Eggman due to the above. He felt that Eggman ‘discarded’ him when he delegated him the responsibility of being dormant until someone dared to awaken Shadow.
- Whilst Omega is very business-like, he still has some grasp of others emotions. He can console his allies, just in a very matter-of-fact way.
