I am both worse and better than you thought.
Sylvia Plath, The Unabridged Journals Of Sylvia Plath (via books-n-quotes)
Everyone says that love hurts, but that's not true. Loneliness hurts. Rejection hurts. Losing someone hurts. Everyone confuses things with love, but in reality, love is the only thing in this world that covers up all the pain and make us feel wonderful again.
âAnyone who angers you conquers you.â - Elizabeth Kenny
How many bridges have you burnt that you thought made your world smaller, when really, it drove you into mapping the entire world, all because you couldnât cross one bridge, that you decided to go everywhere else.
Burnt bridges are blessings, Eliot Knight (via eli0tknight)
And sometimes I have kept my feelings to myself, because I could find no language to describe them in.
Jane Austen, Sense and Sensibility (via books-n-quotes)
âIt all flowed over me with a screaming ache of pain⊠remember, remember this is now and now. Live it, feel it, cling to it. I want to become acutely aware of all Iâve taken for granted.â - Sylvia Plath ~ Iâve been side reading Plathâs journal for a couple of weeks now. I need to slow my pace down because of the overflowing emotions it conveys. One gulp can probably give me an overdose. It requires quiet introspection and when I do, most of the time, I just want to live and savour the moment. đ đ« Itâs like your own personal fears, doubts, insecurities, desires and cravings put in her words. Structured carefully and delivered with so much weight it lingers. It is the purest, rawest and most honest form of catharsis, I should say. This is her journal, her day to day activities, mind you. Unfortunately, this journal was published by Tedâs (her husband) approval and I feel sorry for her. Itâs just too personal sometimes I feel like I am invading oneâs privacy.
Ghost from the past
I burried you together with my old self. I know I did. But here you are. You manage to break my serenity. Your presence, like a wraith in the middle of the night, signals peril. The last thing I remember about you is an image of a man raging with hate and anger ready to kill by your words.
You said you came in peace. That you understand now and you are sorry. My dear, I wish I could find significance in your words in this state of my life. I have forgotten you. Like the withered petals of the flowers you gave me that I kept inside a book. Like your letter at the back of the frame of my picture that you used to have in your room. I have forgotten you like the pieces of clothes I left in your house. Like my favorite book on your bedside table. All the cruel and ruthless words you said that night.
How I wish they still matter. The girl you loved longed for those words. And now she's gone. Dead and gone.
Say your sorry to her.
âWe have all a better guide in ourselves, if we would attend to it, than any other person can be.â - Jane Austen, Mansfield Park
No, no. You donât understand.
In my mind, I am of none.
This hole in my soul is growing deep.
This is a war I cannot win.
Will you save me from myself?
The birds of sadness seems to settle in. Not showing willingness of departure. Finding warm and solace in my deserted heart.
Stars are not small or gentle. They are writhing and dying and burning. They are not here to be pretty. I am trying to learn from them.

She is one of those girls who need never make the slightest effort to have men fall in love with them. Two types of men seldom do: dull men are usually afraid of her cleverness and intellectual men are usually afraid of her beauty.
F. Scott Fitzgerald, This Side of Paradise (via books-n-quotes)
