Callie is a virtual assistant I met late last year that specializes in helping small companies run their social media. Carter’s Caves on our trial run in the camper. It was a little chilly but we had a great time! It is definitely going to take some time getting used to the smaller space, but we have already planned a few modifications to the camper before we leave to make it more usable and comfortable. I was able to get some design work done while we were camping and I’m looking forward to the inspiration we will find in some of the most beautiful places in the country as I transition to working from the road. Only 22 days until we head out!

We got our camper! This was one of the last major things that we needed to get lined out before we leave for our National Park tour on March 31st. I am so excited for this incredible opportunity to take one of our dream trips and to transition to life on the road. I am also very grateful for all of the support that we have received and for the fact that my business allows me to continue following my passion of creating art while we are traveling.

These three mean the world to me. From Julia waking us up at 6:45 am because she is hungry, to Ruby not wanting to do anything after 8 pm except lay in the bed with us, to Summer pushing me to realize how much more is possible out of life, I am so grateful to be surrounded by such love, joy, and energy! Also, we had a heck of a time getting all four of us in one photo together. :D

Ever wondered how I create my paintings and customizable pet portraits? It is sometimes difficult to explain, so I thought I would show you! Not by adding a filter over a picture to make it look painted, but actually digitally paint your pet brush by brush. Watch my process below and let me know if you have any questions!

These two pieces of equipment are essential to my craft and to my business. The first is my input, the Wacom Intuos Pro tablet. I have had it for over 7 years now and every painting I have ever made has been using this tablet. With over 2,000 levels of pressure sensitivity, it feels very natural to use and is similar to working on paper.

The second is my output, the Epson SureColor P800 printer. This is a more recent addition that I purchased last summer to move my artwork production in-house (literally), and it has been amazing! I am continually surprised by the level of detail and the richness of the color that it produces.

This is where the magic happens! I absolutely love this workspace, and the focus, clarity, and inspiration that it brings me. I enjoy being able to look at one of my favorite paintings I created of someone I deeply admire, and another of my favorite works of art. I will certainly miss this once we start traveling in April, but I think working from a laptop inside of National Parks will more than make up for it! :)
