All my Colorado friends, please share or spread word if you know anyone living in #EagleCounty. My heartbroken brother @joshclooney lost his dog, Besita or "Bezzy," while camping this weekend when she ran off after someone at a nearby campground lit off a giant firework. He had just built a bed for her to fit in the back of his truck cab. He had adopted her a couple of months ago from a rescue group who had brought her up from Mexico. She was going to get chipped this week; she does have ID tags on her collar. She is 1 year old and friendly. Please call 720-290-8198 with any info. This week I am back at the @baltimoresun where I worked for nearly five years to help the newsroom as it continues to staff two newspapers after the @capgaznews shooting. It’s bittersweet in a lot of ways: You can read inspiring quotes from journalists like Rob Hiaasen on the wall but you cannot hear his voice. In a month or so, @baltimoresun will move from this newsroom where decades of stories were told to new digs in a move unrelated to the tragedy. It’s one more time I get to work in this newsroom — but more importantly once more to work with great friends & thank them for the contributions they have made in my life & career. This week was made possible by my current employer, @marshallproj, who cared enough about journalism to loan me out on their time & dime. Journalism has been under attack this year but newsrooms remind me just how much it’s all worth fighting for. (at The Baltimore Sun)
