Twiyor is the straight ship for gay people👏

What I love about it is how Loid and Yor are both WEIRD. They're not just hiding secret identities and are otherwise normal; their secret shows up all over their personality. Honest-to-god strange people all around.

Yor was disliked by her co-workers and Loid pretends to be someone else at all times. Alter egos aside, it takes a specific kind of person not to judge them. But lo and behold, they've never judged each other.

I've said it before but I have to repeat it: when Yor finally gushes over him, she mentions none of his performed traits.

SHE LOVES HIM WEIRD.

But I cannot stress this enough: this radical acceptance will extend to their alter egos. I've talked about this somewhere else.

Each of them is an abonormal, estranged liar; and in this tiny group everyone's an abonormal, estranged liar. They've lied to each other, since that's just how the world works, but none of them actually became a part of it. Within the Forger household, the Thorn Princess, Twilight and the mind reader will be CELEBRATED, not tolerated.

On top of that, they're both working towards world peace and the greater good. Their weirdness is shockingly selfless in the exact way that appeals to & resonates with the other. Their weirdness is shockingly selfless in the exact way that appeals to & resonates with the other.

I'm not saying they're soulmates, but that's some hella specific situation they're in. Actual one in a million chance of finding each other.

Look at their proposal, it's strange as fuck but it's them and they love it that way and there's no way they've met a person like them but thank god they did.

Madara is such a fascinating character to me. An ancient and massively powerful youkai with all the emotional maturity of a kindergartener with a crush. Either presents himself as a noble white-furred beast the size of a building or a fat cat with a squeaky voice. And also a lookalike of a long-dead schoolgirl whom he has strong unfavourable opinions about. Knows perfectly well how human-youkai friendships end and jumps in head first anyway, rip to you but I’m different. Indulges Natsume’s every whim, acts like he has cooties when he says “thank you”. Jokes about eating Natsume on the daily, casually mentions his intention to stay with him until his dying breath. Can’t bear the thought of anyone finding out he’s got any sort of positive feelings for Natsume. Unabashedly spends his every waking (and sleeping) hour with said Natsume. Wise and perspicacious enough to know when to step back and how to guide Natsume to learn things at his own pace. Is the most unconvincing liar ever. Spends his free time getting into the pettiest squabbles, making outlandish demands and pestering neighbourhood dogs. He’s massively respected among youkai. He’s a public nuisance among youkai. He’s a spiritual guide. He’s an annoying sibling. He’s an alcoholic parent. He’s a pet mascot. He’s a main character. And I’ve got 5 and a half seasons left to go.

There’s a quality that certain books/movies/TV shows have that leads me to say, “Yeah, I can see people making fanfiction of that.” It’s something to do, I think, with how tight the story is, how much feels open-ended or like it could be elaborated on.

Something like Breaking Bad, for example, has low squiggability (that’s what I’m calling this quality). It’s tightly written, the characters are consistent, there’s little left to interpolate or extrapolate. Obviously, people DO write fanfic of Breaking Bad, but it still has a low squiggability score. Whereas something like Supernatural has a high squiggability score. Fantasy and science fiction often have high squiggability scores. This suggests squiggability could also be related to worldbuilding and potential for people to borrow a premise or setting.

And sometimes you’ll read or watch something and you’ll say, “Ah, low squiggability,” and then you’ll open tumblr and find out that everyone else seem to think its squiggability was very high indeed.
