In case you didn't see my reblog, your betta is currently in a very toxic home. He (it is a boy) needs 5 gallons of space, a filter, a heater, and appropriate decor in order to thrive. If you are willing to find appropriate housing for your fish, feel free to contact me for suggestions. If you are not, please consider letting me take him off your hands for no charge. I am very experience in betta handling, and I would give him a good life... which he won't have in that cube.
I did see it… I don’t care what you and the rest of the beta rescuers have to say. He’s quite happy in his little home, he’s fed, he’s warm due to location (under a desk lamp and next to the lap top exhaust vent). I know how to change the water out frequently and he’s not going to die any time soon. Myself, along with many others have kept Bettas alive in small tanks for 3-5 years. No problems. Do you have any real problems to concern yourself with besides a fish that naturally thrives in puddles in a climatic country to begin with? It does snow in Japan, ya know.
You Betta for one is a male and two its originated in Thailand not Japan. This goes to show how little you actually know about your fish. Nice fish crappy home.
You say it came from rice paddies that is true but rice paddies stretch across a vast landscape and are at least two feet deep compared to you little tank that doesn’t even hold one gallon of water.
You kept it alive congratulations. Anything is capable of living provided with the bare essentials. Just like Genie the wild child who was chained most of her life by her own father. She lived but was she happy and healthy? No. You willfully neglect your fish despite others suggestions and attempts to help you provide a better home for your fish.
I challenge you to put your Betta in a heated and filtered tank and see what difference it makes.
I’m just going to drink him… i like Sushi, too. -_-
