reblog and make a wish! this was removed from tumbrl due to “violating one or more of Tumblr’s Community Guidelines”, but since my wish came true the first time, I’m putting it back. :)
OH MY FUCKING GOD, IT’S BACK ON MY DASH.
THIS SHIT WORKS OKAY, I AM DEAD SERIOUS.
The last time I saw this on my dash, I didn’t think it would happen, so jokingly I wished I could go to a fun. concert.
AND GUESS WHAT, I WENT TO A FUCKING FUN. CONCERT.
THIS SHIT WORKS, TRY IT.
YOOOOOOO
I SAW THIS ON MY DASH THE OTHER DAY AND THOUGHT “ITS WORTH A TRY” SO I WISHED I COULD GET A 3DS
LITERALLY LIKE 4 DAYS LATER MY DAD SENT ME A PICTURE OF THE 3DS XL HE BOUGHT FOR ME WHILE I WAS AT SCHOOL
IM STILL FREAKING OUT ABOUT THIS
holy fuck, I didn’t expect this to work, I was like psh, whatever it’s just a quick reblog, but I wished my Dad would actually respond back to me AND HE FUCKING DID A FEW DAYS LATER, I GOT A FUCKING TEXT FROM MY DAD TODAY WHO HASN’T SPOKEN OR RESPONDED TO ME IN MONTHS HOLY FUCK WHAT IS THIS MAGIC IT WORKS.
I wish I could sell 100 copies of my book Sweet Nothings.
I took a break from Threads to come here. Book pirates are being so rude to authors over there.

So what I think is that there's this default belief in patriarchy that men are superior to women and therefore the "masculine" sphere is superior to the "feminine" sphere. And so, as feminists have fought to expand the number of allowable female activities, men (on the aggregate over generations) have retreated from those activities because they're now seen as "feminine", and so partaking in them is incommensurate with their belief in their own superiority. And, unfortunately, as this has progressed, this has resulted in a lot of men sectioning themselves off from, frankly, everything that actually makes being alive worthwhile. It's a misery spiral, and the only way out is to abandon male supremacy.
#men gave up deep friendships and reading and poetry and colourful fashion#all things that used to be considered manly in the 19th century#they're currently giving up on studying law and medecine#it's so stupid and sad
(I mean, the colourful fashion was more of an eighteenth century thing, but yeah)
#more women in higher education meaning fewer men is incredibly depressing to me. funny in a sad way#what happens when women will finally get into trades? will they just stop working

Holy shit I need to say something to teenage and young adult Ariana Grande fans on this site because what I just saw is absolutely horrifying.
So for reasons unknown (why does the YouTube algorithm do anything?), my YouTube shorts have given me a pair of videos of fans concerned about her health. And I am begging you:
If she is giving health or diet advice to fans, please do not follow it.
I don't know the whole story here. According to these two fans, she started appearing unwell during the Wicked press tour. The photos and videos I just saw of her current tour demonstrate a serious deterioration since then.
When my mom was in her teens, there was a singer named Karen Carpenter. She developed anorexia, and at her lowest weight reached 83 pounds. She was actually in recovery and had gotten back up to 108 pounds when her heart simply couldn't stand the strain anymore, and she suffered a fatal heart attack. She was 32 years old.
Karen and Ariana have very similar builds. I've seen photos of Karen at her lowest weight.
Ariana looks worse.
Let's be clear: I am saying she looks sicker and in an even more advanced state of anorexia than a woman who weighed the same as a ten-year-old child. This is not normal weight loss. This isn't even "slightly too much" weight loss. This is the point where I very gently tell you all that you may need to prepare yourselves for her to die if nobody steps in to help her. When I saw these images I first wondered if she was trying to perform through late-stage cancer.
She is extremely ill, and it's not her fault. Nobody wakes up one day and says "I think I want to hate my body so much that I'll let it eat me from the inside out for lack of calories." If anyone is to blame here, it's the people around her who may have pressured her to this point and certainly aren't stepping in to help her. She deserves compassion and care.
But something both of these fans mentioned is that when they expressed concern, other fans accused them of body-shaming and asking how dare they speak about other women's bodies. And that is dangerous. Because there's an ocean of difference between "ugh, eat a cheeseburger" and "someone please help her, she's a human being, not a freakshow, and this isn't right," and that difference matters because she is a role model to so many young women. You need to be able to say "she doesn't deserve judgement, but she is unwell."
Ariana Grande is extremely sick, and that sickness is in her brain but is affecting her in a viscerally physical way, and if you look to her as an inspiration I am asking you to please, please understand you can love her music and the version of herself that she puts forward to you without emulating it. Do not assume she's giving good nutritional or exercise advice right now. She is not in a good headspace to be doing so.
I hope for her sake that she has a moment of clarity and enters recovery. I hope it's not too late for her, the way it was for Karen Carpenter. I don't say any of this to wish ill on her or her fans. But I do say it because I know how many of her fans are teenagers. And I don't want to see anyone take her illness as a good thing.
Talk about it. Don't shame. But do be aware. If you see troubling signs in yourself or your friends--obsessive calorie-counting, talking about "deserving" food or "punishing" yourself for eating--please seek help. I've never had full-on anorexia, but I did have an eating disorder as a teen, and it can sneak up on you and have lifelong effects.
Please be careful.
So I haven't seen this documentary yet, or the 1989 biopic in probably twenty years, but y'all who first heard of Karen Carpenter in this post can get enough context from this trailer, and yes that specifically includes photos from near the end of her life:
YouTube threw another video at me and apparently there are actually fans who are comparing Ariana to Karen already. That is...a horrifying sign.
anorexia is such a traitor - you think you're taking control of an aspect of your life, and then anorexia takes the control away from you
please don't trust it when it tries to tell you that it's a way to get your agency back, please don't
researching drug use is such a nightmare it's just pages of 'don't do drugs.' that's doesn't really help me with my fanfic, now does it?
My moment has come.
I had the same problem while writing my longfic (I never used half of the information I found but shhh), and since then I have a few articles saved that might help me if I needed this information again :D Let me pass them to you.
For different kinds of drugs and addiction in general:
quite short but very useful,
drugs and their effects,
shortly about different kinds of drugs (and alcohol), helps me search for a quick info while writing,
How long does the cocaine and heroin high lasts + some other useful information about it:
cocaine
heroin
For PCP specifically:
side effects,
short-term and long-term health effects,
long-term effects,
Here is a very nice search engine (there are probably better ones, but it's still more useful than google a lot of the times).
While I get you attention, let me tell you a quick reminder that while I love this headcanon, Angel couldn't die from a PCP overdose, because the timelines wouldn't match. Anthony died before PCP was out in public. Still, the fics that use it are amazing, so do whatever you want lmao
I know you didn't ask for links, but I got excited ^_^" Hope this helps!
prev I am platonically kissing you. you are a gift upon this earth. thank you so much for this

Okay here's my obligatory post about Tumblr users and their ignorance of rap, as a (white) fan of rap:
Saying "Not all rap music is about violence, here are alternatives" is not helpful, because the violent music ALSO has meaning.
When Biggie Smalls postures about his gang connections and packing heat, he isn't doing it because wow violence is so edgy, it's a powerful statement. Youth in urban areas where gang activity is heavy are often treated as lesser than by default, especially compared to black people the same age from a wealthy background. There's a reason that the "wholesome and respectable" black-lead entertainment of that era was stuff like the Cosby Show, with doctor-lawyer parents, or Family Matters, with a cop dad. There's a reason why the big joke of Fresh Prince is someone with a more unstable upbringing moving in with one of these model black sitcom families.
Standing up and saying yeah, I came from the mean streets, I was molded by this violence and yes, I did what I had to do to survive in a world that refuses to acknowledge my existence as meaningful or worthy of protection. I protected myself, I made my own way, and fuck anybody who tries to stand in the way of that.
Refusing to demonize that environment and wearing it like armor in a way that protects from the authority that wants you to see them as sub humans incapable of only violence and hatred, and saying HEY. I'm here, I lived this, and there is love and there is pain and there is ART in this.
That is powerful. That is the essence of gangster rap.
It isn't about hurting people for fun, it's about holding a mirror up to a society that does the hurting and then calls you a monster for what it's made you. Its about validating the experiences of the disenfranchised and biting back at authority. It's about turning a pain that the world say you deserve being one of those people from those places into POETRY. Into ART.
And thats why it matters.
And thats why you need to shut the yell up and stop dismissing it as violence without substance when you all sat on your ass listening to songs about Hatsune Miku eating people in middle school.
This right here.
I'm sick and entirely tired of having to defend my entire young life to people who want to do nothing but insult the music that helped make me ME.
I get around a lot of people who look at me and see a role model. They see something they aspire to be. They see a life they want.
And so they approach me and talk to me and I am excited to share my culture with them. All the way until, for the 784th time in a row, someone tells me "I don't listen to rap"
Or
"I only listen to music with real instruments"
Or
"I have to be in the right mood to listen to that, which almost never happens"
And they don't see how insulting that is. To walk up to me, tell me you like me, that you want to be like me, but then ignore one of the things that makes me me.
You don't want to be like me. You want to fucking cosplay as me. You don't want to watch the movies I watch, listen to the music I like, enjoy a meal or a coffee with me, or interact with anything that I create. So tell me again just exactly what it is you like about me?
What my clothes and the color of my hair? You're missing the whole fucking point of why I keep color in my hair. I never wanted to stand out. I just stood out anyway because people would fucking pick me out. People singled me out. Teachers, preachers, family, strangers, cops, leaders, and outcasts alike all looked at me no matter how boring I dressed and decided that I am meant to stand out. So I decided to stop hiding and stand out on my fucking own
It's the same thing with rap music.
These people did what they had to do to survive, and you don't get to tell them their music isn't valuable because it's not the same as the soft rock that has been playing around the world on repeat for the past 50 years.
You're not breaking new ground. Listen to somebody who doesn't look like you for once
Oh I was on fire this day
And this is still the damn truth. Every word
I'm just as red hot about this as the day I wrote it.
Every fucking time I bring up a black artist I like somebody tells me they haven't heard of them and then brings up some black artist wrapped up in controversy to try to pretend THAT'S why they can't listen to black music.
"Oh she's too sexual"
OK listen to the music I listen to. It's not sexual. And even if it was, it would still be fucking valid.
"Oh he's too violent"
OK listen to the music I listen to. It's not violent. And even if it was, it would still be fucking valid.
And by the end of the conversation, they've been introduced to 7 new wholesome amazing artists that they've never heard of and will never listen to again
Because they're FUCKING RACIST
Fuck you and fuck your attitude about black music. Listen to black music
And if you come at me with those same dumb ass excuses, you are racist piece of dogshit and you can go fuck yourself.
It plays out very similar with Aboriginal, Māori, Pasifika rap too. Kids that have grown up dealing with gangs, drugs, violence, poverty and most of all racism grow up making music to reflect the world as they see it and to speak to the kids coming up behind them. Then the outside world sees their art as violent or somehow glorifying the shit they lived through, and pulls them down, or at least attempts to. White people generally don't like to see people from that background making a success of themselves WITH that background being the subject and speaking to people like themselves. You're only allowed to make art about that background if you are willing to condemn it. They don't want to be reminded of the lives of kids in Shepparton, or Mangere, or Papakura etc and see kids finding success with that art.
Transphobia is about to be signed into law in the UK. We can fight this.
I am begging the UK trans community and its allies to attend the Mass Lobby at Parliament on June 25th, 11am-4pm, organised by Trans Solidarity Alliance.
Last year we broke the record for an LGBT+ mass lobby of Parliament. Will you help us break it again? Join us on 25th June 2026 to demand be
The new EHRC Code of Practice pushes trans people out of toilets, hospital wards, and community spaces. It normalises gender policing based on appearance and stereotypes. It becomes statutory guidance in the UK by the end of June.
Trans people are now legally their assigned gender at birth and must join gendered spaces accordingly, but if they are perceived as their lived gender, they can also be ejected from those spaces. The guidance says: either break the law, or don’t pass too well.
A mass lobby is where you invite your MP to discuss your concerns with you in-person. Ask your MP to:
Demand full parliamentary scrutiny, debate, and use their free vote on the EHRC Code of Practice.
Support any motions rejecting the EHRC guidance. As of June 4th, Labour MP Nadia Whittome has submitted a prayer motion - Early Day Motion 240, please ask your MP to sign this.
Write to Bridget Phillipson, the Minister for Women and Equalities about our concerns
Your MP does not have to be an ally, they do not have to respond to your email for you to show up and greencard them (details below the cut.) What matters is that as many people as possible show up.
I cannot stress this enough: Showing up in person matters. It is much more effective than petitions, emails, and letters.
It is a horrible, stressful time, and I am so sorry if you're trans and live in the UK. But I was at last year's mass lobby and the line for greencarding alone stretched around the back gates. It was a record breaking mass lobby and made us impossible to ignore. Let's do even better this time. Details under the cut:
Longtime readers may be aware of how much I relish an excuse to bully a company, so I'm sharing the wealth;
Clothing company Patagonia is currently suing drag queen Pattie Gonia for "irreparable” harm to their brand.
To be clear; Pattie named herself after the region in South America.
So Pattie is asking people to politely ask Patagonia to drop the lawsuit.
I'm extending the invitation to all of you, because suing a drag queen for 'infringement' in the current political cultural landscape is vile. Especially a drag queen who has raised millions of dollars for non-profits, uses her platform to raise awareness for climate activism, and fully aligns with Patagonia's apparent climate-conscious mission statement.
They're claiming they're suing for $1. They're actually asking her to stop using her name, and pay over $1 million in legal fees. They're straight up harassing her.
In contrast, drag queen Jan Sport has a Jansport bag line. It's that easy to just... work with a queen.
Anyway. Be respectful(ish), but feel free to be annoying on Patagnoia's socials, asking them to 'DROP THE LAWSUIT'
I think they have a twitter and tiktok too!
Everywhere I go I'm reminded how much the desire to punish homelessness and migration and other Undesirablenesses make society markedly worse for everyone
like why is the park locked after 5pm so I can't go and sit under a tree after work? to punish rough sleepers for the terrible crime of being homeless and alive
why do I have to buy a drink, beg for a code and fuck around with an awkward keypad for 5 minutes in order to take a piss? because fuck homeless people
why do I need to provide proof of address and photo ID to do everything? because we had to create a really hostile environment for migrants
why can't you sit anywhere? well because god forbid people sleep when they're pushed out of shelter. can't risk that.
every day governments, councils and businesses make your life worse as a side effect of making vulnerable people's lives WAY worse. if you're ok with that you're a fucking idiot and if you're in favour of it you're a vindictive cunt cause again literally the ONLY payoff for your life getting worse is other people's lives getting worser.
Today I wanted to talk about Kyle Bassinga. Kyle was a 21 year old man from Georgia, whose family described him as "a kind, thoughtful, and smart young man who loved nature, music, and the people around him". Kyle Bassinga was killed on February 18th 2026, just ten days after his birthday. He was found hanging from a tree in a park.
The police ruled it a suicide. The family and local community demanded an investigation. The police refused to change their ruling.
I know this website it too white for this to really go anywhere, but an understanding of the present reality of white supremacy in the United States is just so important to transfeminism here. Lynchings never stopped, white supremacy never went away, you just stopped looking.
