Hi guys, I wanted to let you know that I am slowly going trough the story and kind of rewriting, changing some scenes, making them longer and editing some typos, in case anyone is interested in rereading
Tw: arguing, mention of alcohol

Your pov:
When I stepped outside, the sun hit my face and the temperature was nice. Of course, I had the choice of stepping into the car, but decided some fresh air would do me good.
So, I came to the decision to walk, even though I knew very well it would take me quite a while to get there, I didn’t mind.
I was about halfway through, when the pan of soup, which I had carefully placed into a grocery bag with the lid taped shut, was starting to get heavy, so maybe I regretted my decision a little.
By the time the monastery came into view, the sun had disappeared behind thick, grey clouds.
When I entered trough the gates and headed to the door, the first person I ran into was Koko, who was just heading out to have coffee with a friend.
She greeted me with a bright smile and held the door open for me, wishing me good luck with her stubborn son.
I had laughed, thanked her and then the door closed behind me. I wandered from the hallway into the living room, which was surprisingly empty, no one was around.
I took the door to the kitchen where I found Zane.
“Zane!” I greeted with a smile, putting the by now cold soup on the stove, so I could heat it up in a moment.
“Y/n,” he smiled. “What a pleasent surprise, what did you bring?” He asked, abandoning whatever he was baking (though it seemed chocolatey) and wandered over to lift the lid off of the large pan on the stove.
“Vegetable soup,” I told him, just as he glanced inside. “It’s Lloyd’s favourite,” I added reaching for a cabinet to grab myself a glass.
“It looks very good,” he complemented. “Would you like me to heat it up for you?” He asked kindly, making me turn around, glass in hand.
“Thank you Zane, but it’s quite alright,” I assured. “I’ll heat it up myself, so you can continue baking…” I glanced at the batter inside the kitchen aid bowl. “Whatever it is, but it looks delicious.”
“I am baking brownies,” he pointed out as I filled my glass with water. “But all I need to do is put them in the oven and then I’ll have all the time to heat up your soup,” he assured.
“It’s alright, I don’t want to be a bother,” I told him. “You have probably already had a long day, especially with the bank robbery, you should get some rest,” I insisted.
“Don’t worry, cooking helps me relax, you will only do me a favour,” he assured again. “You should go check on Lloyd, especially after he snuck out to help us with the robbery today,” he pointed out and I glanced at the door.
He was right, I really did want to see him. I looked back at Zane who was giving me a soft look and I broke.
“Ugh, you’re an angel, you know that?” I weakly smiled.
“I have been told,” he grinned, making me chuckle.
“Alright fine,” I gave in. “But please, Zane, when you’re done, take a cup for yourself and sit down for a moment,” I told him and he nodded and promised he would.
I quickly drank my water and then placed my glass in the sink, before leaving the kitchen.
I wandered trough the hall and was surprised to find nothing.
Cole wasn’t yelling at Jay to get out of his room, Kai wasn’t loudly playing a game, no one was arguing for a stupid reason and even some of the doors were half open with no one in the room.
So I suppose no one is home, which is a bit strange. Well at least for me, I’ve never seen it so quiet here.
I arrived at Lloyd’s door, which was closed, so I softly knocked, saying his name.
No answer.
There was no way he hadn’t heard, so I figured that could only mean he was asleep.
I tried to quietly open the door, but it creaked, which caused me to cringe, yet I pushed it open further.
The room was dark, the only light was peaking trough the closed blinds. Lloyd was asleep in his bed and I leaned against the door frame with a fond smile.
One half of my mind wanted to quietly leave and let him sleep, but the other half wanted to crawl into bed with him and cuddle up.
The second half won easily. I silently closed the door behind me and tiptoed over.
Something was wrong.
The moment I stood next to the bed I saw it, they were pillows. Lloyd wasn’t in bed, it only looked like he was for whoever peaked trough the door to check on him, he’d shoved pillows under his blanket like a little kid.
I clenched my teeth together and turned around. I didn’t even think of closing the door and just marched towards the backyard.
When I passed the kitchen, I saw Zane look up and when he saw me, realisation washed over his face and he just shook his head in exasperation.
Yeah, I felt like that too.
I knew where he would be, it wasn’t hard to guess. I opened the back door and as good as slammed it behind me, if Wu heard, I’d deal with the consequences later, I didn’t care right now.
I opened the sliding door of the dojo where I found Lloyd fighting a dummy, sweat coating his entire body and I was certain that wasn’t just from the work out.
Leaning against the doorframe, he hasn’t even noticed me at all, which told me a ton.
If your super hearing boyfriend doesn’t hear you, something’s off.
“And here I thought I’d be the so loving girlfriend and bring you soup, but alas, you don’t need it,” at the sound of my voice he finally looked up.
“Hey, babe,” he greeted with a grin, padding over to me, he moved down to kiss me but I stepped back, shaking no my head.
“Not while you’re this sweaty,” I told him and he playfully pouted at me, only to finally realise the look on my face.
“What?” He asked. “What’s wrong?”
“What’s wrong?” I repeated. “Are you really asking me that? You cannot think of one thing that is wrong right now?” I asked incredulously.
He seems to actually need to think for a moment before a hint of realisation crossed his features.
“Oh! The stab wound?” He asked with a chuckle. “I’m fine, I’ve had worse,” he brushed off, only to be met with my unamused face. “Hey,” he softened. “Seriously, it really is alright, I’m used to going out into the field when injured,” he assured, yet that didn’t help.
“You’re sick, Lloyd,” I pointed out.
“Pff, Nya was exaggerating yesterday, it’s just a cold,” he waved it off and I just blinked at him, a little hurt at this point.
“Do you take me for a fool?” I asked, it was then that he finally seemed to realise there was actual anger in my voice. “You’ve been throwing up all day yesterday and this morning, despite of it, you’ve gone on patrol, and now you’re training!” I angrily gestured to the dummy.
His eyebrows furrowed and he seemed to think for a moment.
“Who told you that?” He asked me.
“Told me what?” I asked confused.
“That I was throwing up,” he clarified which made me sigh.
“Nya,” I just answered. “But that is not the point right now—”
“She had no right to tell you about that, when did she tell you?” He asked and I just looked at him with wide, disbelieving eyes.
“You know what?” I said, trying to sound calm and not lose my temper. “I do not want to have this conversation right now, you need to go take a damn shower before you get even sicker than you already are,” I insisted.
“I’ll be fine,” he said again and I took a deep breath.
“I’m not asking,” I just said and he seemed to want to open his mouth and argue, but he decided against it and gave in.
“Fine,” he mumbled.
With a sigh I turned around and walked out of the dojo, I felt the soft splatter of rain against my skin, the cool breeze was the exact reason why I didn’t want him standing there all sweaty for any longer.
He let me lead him inside, where he finally entered the bathroom and steppend into the shower. I stood outside the door until I heard it running and I know he probably heard me waiting.
I entered his room where I took a seat on the edge of the bed and waited.
I looked up when the door opened and Zane stood in the door opening with a steaming bowl of soup.
He walked in and wordlessly put the bowl down on the bedside table. He seemed to notice the pillows and I saw him mentally figure out what must’ve happened.
“I’ll leave the two of you be,” he just said, I gave him a small smile and he left the room again.
Five minutes later, Lloyd walked in.
He wore sweatpants and a loose T-shirt that slightly clung to his still damp body.
The moment he found my eyes he froze and we stared at each other like that for a few seconds.
“Pillows, Lloyd, really?” I asked him and he looked at the scene he had faked, but nothing seemed to be able to come out. “What are you? Five?” His eyes narrowed at the sharpness in my voice.
“Why are you so mad?” He asked, causing me to give him an offended look.
“Is that seriously a question you are asking me?” I breathed in disbelief and stood up. “Let me think— oh wait right, you’ve been full on lying to me,” I accused, maybe a little loud.
“Lying to you?” His calm demeanour faded. “What on earth are you talking about? I have not been lying to you!”
“Have you not?” I asked with fake humour in my voice. “You have been lying to me saying you are fine but you are not, you just insisted you ‘just had a cold’ when we both know you’ve been barfing your guts out for the past two days, that’s not a cold, Lloyd!” My voice grew louder as the sentence progressed.
“What do you not understand when I say that I am fine?” He asked and I scoffed.
“Nya literally texted me all that has been going on! The throwing up, the fever, the—”
“Why are you texting Nya about it?” He angrily cut me off.
“Because you won’t tell me anything!” I snapped back. “Why are you mad? You have no right to be angry about this, if anything I should be mad that I’ve been hearing it from her!”
“She has no right to tell you all of that, if you wanted to know you should have just asked me!” He raised his voice.
“I have— I did!” I yelled, thunder rumbled in the distance, but neither of us paid it any mind. “I’ve been asking you how you are and you lie to me, I just told you you shouldn’t be training because you are sick and you told me it was just a cold!” I tried getting my voice in control but it didn’t quite work out.
“Oh my— why are you so worked up about this?” He asked incredulously.
“Because you’re lying to me Lloyd, that’s not how relationships work!” I insisted, sounding a bit desperate.
“Oh, if you wanted to talk about lying, why don’t you start about the girl who you told all about ‘the green ninja’s girlfriend?’” He raised his eyebrows waiting for my response while I just looked at him, perplexed.
“What?” I asked, slowly blinking.
“Hm?” He cockily looked at me.
“Do not turn this around on me, that was just a joke— it’s not even what we are talking about out, you are avoiding the subject!” I accused.
“Yes, because it’s insane!” He argued. “It’s not that deep!”
“Oh hey, you know what is deep?” I asked, fake humour lacing my voice and he seemed a little thrown off. “The goddamn stab wound in your side, which you got because you went on patrol when sick, which is against the rules, meaning no one knew about it so you didn’t even have back up!” I named.
“Well I’m fine, aren’t I?” He yelled, which threw me of a little, I had never heard him yell like that.
“So?”
“So it doesn’t fucking matter!”
“You came to me with a stab wound Lloyd!” I pointed out angrily. “One that you got because of your own damn fault, I still stitched it up for you, which I had never done before and it freaked me and after all that, I haven’t even heard as much of a thank you come out of your mouth!” I yelled, my throat a bit sore by now.
He just stared down at me for a moment, seeming incredibly baffled and confused at whatever is happening right now.
“Why are you so angry with me?” He asked again and I just groaned in frustration and balled my fist. I clenched my teeth together and my eyes shut, turning my head down to the ground, contemplating my next move.
It was nothing, I had nothing, I have said all that I wanted and he didn’t even understand me a little.
I looked up at him, staring into his confused eyes, my jaw and fists still clenched and I just started walking, I was about to pass him but an arm around my waist stopped me.
“Where are you going?” He asked me, his voice now quiet and confused, which somehow just made me more angry.
“I’m going home,” I said and shoved his arm away, walking out of his room.
“What?” He asked in disbelief, before quickly darting after me and following on my heels as I marched down the hall. “Can we not finish this conversation?” He asked as I walked trough the door and into the living room.
“The conversation is finished, Lloyd,” I said, trying to sound as calm as possible, but my voice still shook.
“What, so you are just going to leave after yelling at me like that?” He asked and I didn’t answer. “Y/n?” He said my name, but I still didn’t answer.
After grabbing my coat, I opened the front door, but it was heavily raining. Standing there, I hesitated for a second before just walking trough.
He called my name again, following after me in the rain, he grabbed my hand which made me turn around.
“Leave me alone, alright?” I pulled my hand away from him and did a step back. When I looked into his eyes they were red and quite angry. “I have said everything that’s been on my mind and everything I needed to say, if you don’t want to understand, fine, but I’m not dealing with that right now, I’ve had a long day.”
“Oh, and I haven’t?” He muttered, I’m not sure if I was supposed to hear, but I did.
“You shouldn’t have!” I yelled. “You should have staid in bed, you are sick and you are wounded and the only one who doesn’t care is you!”
“Stop worrying!” He said a little louder.
“I can’t not worry!” I argued. “I care for you, I love you and you keep brushing me off and it’s not only this it’s everything, it’s every time you come back from patrol, every time you have a nightmare, every time you have a bad day and you just won’t tell me what’s going on!” I named and he just stared at me, eyes wide and hurt.
“I’m trying,” he said softly and I barely heard it over the rain.
“No,” I shook my head . “You’re not,” I turned around and started to walk.
He grabbed my shoulder and turned me right back.
“You’re walking?” He asked.
“Yes,” I simply answered.
“At least let me give you a ride?” He suggested and I huffed.
“No, thank you,” I said bitterly.
“N/n,” he softly said but I just glared up at him.
“I said no, Lloyd,” I bit. “Malcolm will pick me up,” I added, though didn’t mention this would be at the border of the Forrest.
He looked apprehensive at the idea.
“Just get inside,” I ushered. “You’ll only get more sick.”
“I don’t get sick because of these things,” he said, referring to the rain. I looked at him in confusion, questions already swimmingly my head. “I’m sick because I got poisoned on a mission,” he revealed.
“Of course you did,” I said sarcastically. “And of course, I only find out now,” I turned around and started walking, this time he didn’t stop me and let me leave.
It was still pouring as I made my way trough the forest and once I could see the street coming up I pulled out my phone and texted Malcolm.
You:
Hey, I’m on my way home and it’s raining, can you pick me up?
Uncle M:
Of course, where are you?
It’s pouring
Are you alright?
Are you alone?
You:
Im fine
Pick me up at Beaston Drive
I’ll send you my location
Uncle M:
I am getting into the car right now, be there in 5
He made it in three, yet I was already soaked to the bone, I already had been before I texted him. With all the water running over my face I wasn’t even sure what was rain and what was tears, all I knew is that I was cold.
I climbed into the passenger seat and I have never been so thankful for seat warmers as I was right now.
“Are you alright?” He asked concerned, I just silently nodded. “You are crying,” he pointed out and I just shrugged.
It was enough of a sign for him to leave me be and the ride home was silent. I noticed the concerned glances he shot me every minute, but I tried ignoring them.
Arriving home, he grabbed an umbrella and escorted me to the front door and then inside. I silently thanked him, before heading upstairs, really wanting to take a shower.
Closing he bathroom door behind me, I quickly peeled off my wet and cold clothes, putting them into the laundry and then stepping into the shower.
Waiting before the water got hot wasn’t in the books today, the moment it was luke warm I stepped in to get at least some kind of warmth.
Slowly relaxing as the temperature increased, it gave me enough space to reflect on the fight I just had with Lloyd.
I just couldn’t believe how confused he was about the fact I was upset with him. Was it really that strange that I got mad? Did I over-react?
I wasn’t even sure anymore.
After showering for way to long, I wandered into my room with a towel wrapped around me. I snatched my phone of my desk and entered the groupchat with my girlfriends.
Just us girls🫦

A few hours later, the first knock was heard on my bedroom door, before it opened. Luna wandered in, holding a box of the chocolates we used to buy ourselves on valentines day and a six pack of beers.
"Ugh, my room is going to be a mess," I groaned from my bed, where I had buried myself in blankets and pillows, my laptop on my lap and watching one of my comfort movies.
"Oh, god," Luna couldn't help but laugh. "You really do look miserable," she put her stuff on my desk and wandered over, glancing at my laptop. "Oh and if you are watching then you definitely are," she added with a frown, before pausing the movie and taking the laptop away.
"God, you look miserable," We both looked up at the sound of Millie's voice, who had a backpack that she started unloading with more chocolate than I could count and not one, but two bottles of wine.
"I was just telling her," Luna agreed. "What the hell did Lloyd do that got you like this?"
"Do I need to beat him up?" Millie followed immediately after and Luna scoffed.
"Like you could beat him up," she mocked.
"I can always try," Millie said matter of factly.
"You'd lose," I deadpanned, moving to prop myself up a little more instead of just slouching.
"Wow, thank you for the vote of confidence," she sarcastically crossed her arms. "I'm saying I would beat up your boyfriend for you, even though he's like-- two heads taller than I am, be a little supportive."
"I do appreciate it, thank you, Amelia," I laughed.
Luna let herself fall onto my bed and stared up at the ceiling. "Did Flora ever say she'd come?" She asked.
"Yeah, she texted me, she made cookies and she's bringing them with her," I answered, giving Luna a meaningful look.
"Ah," she said thoughtfully. "Stress baking again."
"Jup," I simply answered. "I do feel bad that I am going to complain about my problems, while hers are like— ten times bigger," I mumbled.
"Hey, she'll have all the space to complain and bad mouth Charlie and then cry if she needs to," Luna assured.
While we talked about this, Amelia watched us in confusion, not really sure what the hell was going on.
"Wait," she hesitantly said and we looked over at her. "What are you guys talking about?"
"The breakup," we both said at the same time. Millie's face went through a lot of different emotions in two seconds, ranging from confusion to anger, but eventually just ending on pure confusion.
"How do you know about that?" She asked.
"Charlie told James," I simply said, like that explained everything, but really, it did.
"Ah," she said. "And James told you two," she figured put. "Charles should know by now that if one of you three knows something the other two will know it within a day," she shook her head.
"Yeah, I’m not quite sure if he did it deliberately or if he wasn't thinking," Luna pointed out. "But knowing Charlie, probably the latter."
"I wouldn't put the first option past him," Millie mumbled under her breath, but we heard.
"Hey, he's still our friend," I warned. "He was just venting to James, I'm sure it wasn't a planned move."
"Did you even hear what he said to her?" Millie asked, outraged.
"We heard," Luna simply said. "His assholeyness was out of this world, we agree, but—" She fell silent when footsteps were heard on the stairs.
Moments later, Flora wandered in through the open door, holding a bag. It was silent and we all looked at her, while she came to a halt.
"Ah," she started, avoiding eye contact. "I know this kind of silence," she said, moving to put down the bag. "So I take it that the two of you know?" She asked, looking at me and Luna before a hint of realization crossed her face. "Did you tell them?" She asked Millie, obviously hurt.
"What? No I would never," Millie insisted. "Charles told James," she simply explained.
"Ah, and he of course told you two," she simply nodded. "Well, surprise," she shrugged, her voice a bit croaky.
"If we can't beat up Lloyd, can I beat up Charlie?" Luna asked and Flora let out a little laugh.
"Amelia already asked, no you cannot," she simply said.
"I just really want to beat up someone's boyfriend, don't block a girl from her dreams," the girl simply said, causing us to laugh.
About ten minutes later, we were all in our pyjama's, on the floor, buried in blankets and surrounded by snacks. The rain outside was still heavy, yet the window was open for fresh air. And just in case Lloyd snuck out again and ran into trouble.
There had been a short question about who would do their story first, but Flora had insisted I could start, seeing as they were all interested in what could have possibly happened.
"Alright, I just have to say," I started. "I think that maybe I am overreacting," I warned, causing Amelia to huff.
"We will be the judge of that, continue," she said.
While I smiled, it didn't do a lot to smooth out all of my nerves. Not only do I actually doubt if I overreacted, but I can't even tell them all the details. The curse of dating the green ninja, I guess.
"Okay I told you about Lloyd being sick and him not telling me, right?" I asked and they nodded. I shot Luna a meaningful look, since we'd talked about it together, later that day. "So, I dropped by his house to bring him some soup and when I entered his room to check on him, he had stuffed pillows under the blanked to make it look like he was in bed, when he wasn't," I explained and I saw confusion pass over their faces.
"Wait," Flora's face scrunched up. "Why would he do that? What?"
"What was he even doing?" Luna asked. "Did you find him?"
"Oh I found him," I said, a little irritation beginning to waver trough my voice. "He was training, so for you to imagine, full on fighting a dummy and stuff," I explained.
"Okay, that is a little strange," Flora said skeptically.
"Lloyd is starting to sound like one of those gym bro's and I am getting the ick," Millie said in disgust.
"Well, I wouldn't call him that, but he most certainly does train almost everyday," I said thoughtfully. "So almost a gym bro but without the attitude."
"Why was he training?" Luna finally asked.
"Well, that's what I asked him, I have to be honest, at this point I was already a little upset when I asked him, but then he said he 'just had a cold' which I know wasn't true," I told them, quite outraged at remembering how nongalant he had been when lying to me.
"Wait, yeah, you said he had been throwing up and all, that's not a cold," Millie pointed out.
"Exactly, this man asked me 'why I was upset', to which I told him he was sick and he waved me off like it was nothing, if I hadn't known better I'd have believed him," I explained, grabbing my glass of wine, hoping it would somehow ground me.
"Oh, so he is really just a liar," Luna said with wide eyes. "I don't want to call him a manipulator, but girl..." she trailed of.
"Lloyd is so confusing," Flora said thoughtfully, a piece of chocolate in hand. "I mean, most men already think they are dying with one cough and here Lloyd is, pretending like all is fine."
"And lying about it," Millie added.
"Yes, even worse," Flora pointed the piece of chocolate at her before putting it in her mouth.
"Exactly I was just weirded out and honestly upset, so I told him Nya said he was really sick and this guy had to audacity to get angry and say she didn't have 'the right' to tell me that!"
"Wow! He said she didn't have the right?" Luna said, almost as outraged as I was. "What's up with that?"
"Yeah I was so confused it came out of nowhere," I breathed. "But, at this point I'm actually a little done with him and we are sort of outside, because to get to their training area you need to go outside and the door was open, and it was cold, so I just told him he should take a shower before he got sicker, which he did."
"Begrudgingly?" Flora asked to which I nodded. "I knew it, he is the type to listen to his girl but clearly not agree," she said, to which the other two agreed and it got a chuckle out of me.
"Anyway, he showered, I waited in his room and when he came back he just kinda stared at me and I took that moment to confront him about the pillows," I continued, grabbing one of Flora's cookies.
"Yeah, no the pillows are weird, because be for real, who does that other than a six-year-old?" Luna asked.
"That's exactly what I said!" I pointed out, mouth full of cookie, which I quickly swallowed down. "I don't remember exactly but I am pretty sure this was the point he had the audacity to ask me why I was mad!" I raised my voice a little and I was met with noises of irritation and outrage.
"This idiot," Luna shook her head.
"He actually asked you why? What’s wrong with him?" Millie as good as screeched.
"Yeah! at that point I was just angry, so I confronted him about lying to me, which he denied, to which I of course pointed out he clearly had, he went back to being mad that Nya told me and said I should have just 'asked him' like hello? Like he would've told me?" I rambled on.
"Should've just asked him?’ You did!" Millie added, just as outraged as I was.
"Exactly, I had to explain like— two times that lying wasn’t the way to go, especially in a relationship, I'm pretty sure he asked me three times why I was angry and eventually, I was just done, so I walked out," I continued. "I do regret walking out because it was a little childish, but I felt like he wasn't even trying to understand and at that point we were just yelling at each other."
"The audacity of him to ask you why you where mad, three times makes this so much worse," Flora just looked at the ground and shook her head.
"Yeah, especially because at that point you had already explained why," Luna added. "Also, you are not childish, not when he is the one who stuffed pillows in his bed to make it look like he was there."
"Oh that is a wildly good point," Millie agreed with Lu. "Did he try to stop you from walking out at all?" She asked.
"Oh, yeah, at first he tried to physically stop me," I noticed all of them freeze and their eyes intensely on me. "wow, no worries, as in just an arm around my waist which he let me easily push of when I did," I assured.
"Phew," Luna sighed. "I was already getting ready to kill him in his sleep," she simply said and we all giggled.
"Although I am angry with him, I request you do not," I said trough chuckled. "He did follow me into the rain, where I told him it hadn't been just this occasion but also other moments where he lied to me about his well being and alright, listen, I did something really mean," I said hesitantly.
"Oh god," Flora breathed.
"Oh yeah, that's reassuring, Flores," Luna hissed.
"It's just that when she is mean, she is actually scary mean," Flora hissed back.
"I second that," Millie agreed.
"But what did you say?" Luna asked a little more gentle and I let the retort I had against them slide.
"After I confronted him about not letting me in and telling me about his well being, he told me he was trying, to which I just told him he wasn't," I revealed and it was silent for a moment.
"But, the important thing is, do you really think that?" Luna asked me and I let the silence stretch on for little to long.
"I don't know," I eventually answered.
That was the truth, I really didn't. Maybe he was trying, but it isn't something I am noticing. All I feel so far is that he either lies to me about it or evades the truth and now I've found he himself doesn't see that much wrong with it, which is really just unfair.
How could he just lie to my face and then. not understand that what he was doing was wrong, he didn't even apologise.
I shared this with the girls, to which they agreed it was weird and unfair. Millie thought my clap back to him about not trying was justified, while the other two agreed with me that maybe it was a little to harsh.
"I can't believe you two had a dramatic rain fight," Flora shook her head. "It's so movie like."
"Believe me, it was mostly cold," I told her. "I was drenched to the bone by the time I got home and I can already feel my throat start to ache.
"Wait, did you walk?" Luna asked outraged.
"A little, Malcolm eventually picked me up," I explained and the girls looked at me a little horrified. "Oh, Lloyd did want to bring me home, don't worry, I just basically told him to fuck off," I reassured.
They just laughed, which causeed me to giggle a little and take a sip of my wine, my throat sore from all the talking at this point.
"But what is your plan?" Flora asked. "Because there is a talk waiting to happen now."
"The plan is to wait it out a little, let him get better and I suspect he'll call me once he has the balls," I simply said.
"Are you sure you don't want to be the one to call and resolve things?" Luna asked me and I huffed.
"I have said all that I needed to say, I am now giving him the chance to let that sink in and maybe, finally realize that he was being a dick."
"Oeh, get it. girl," Millie cheered. "New lesson learned, don't mess with N/n."
"But, talking about plans and what to do next," I turned to Flora, whose cheeks already started to become red from suddenly being put into the spotlight. "What is the plan now? With Charlie,” I clarified.
"Well, there is no plan," she just shrugged. "He said we're done, so we're done, I'll be gone ince we graduate and he won't have to see me anymore," she explained and we just stared at her.
"You aren't going to try and talk to him?" Luna asked.
"Like I said were done," her voice broke when she said it. "This is it," her voice was barely audible.
"Oh my god, I want to hug you right now," I said and she extended her arms.
"Please, please do," she said in a watery voice and I quickly got up from my spot, crawled over to her and hugged her tight while we still sat on the floor.
I felt Luna join us from the left and Millie from the right while the lot of us sat there all hugging and comforting Flora who cried.
The remaining of that evening was spent on assuring Flora things would work out and that when she moved, we would visit whenever we could.
After we managed to bad mouth both Charlie and Lloyd for being idiots, we moved to lay on my bed, all huddled up and watching a movie. We fell asleep as an uncomfortable tangle of limps, yet I felt the most comfortable and safe than ever before.

Fandom: ninjago. Cole x female reader. Hey I don’t know if your requests are open…. Let’s say that Lloyd has a sister (preferably with brown hair and a muscular body type) who is dating Cole, and let’s say that Cole wants to marry reader. Maybe write out how the proposal goes, how the wedding goes, maybe a bit of how the honeymoon goes if you’re not too uncomfortable. Sorry if this is uncomfortable please feel free to ignore this but I would really love it if you could do this 🙏🙏🙏
Btw how do you feel about writing smut for this character for future requests?
Hi! Sorry, I’m like a month I think maybe more, late with answering. Thank you for the request I had so much fun writing this I hope you like it :)
For smut, I do have to say I have never written it before and it’s mostly because I just know that if I do, it’ll probably just be cringe and uncomfortable. If you do want to request it, I do not mind writing it<3
This is part 1, I’ll make a part 2 for the wedding and honeymoon.
Story below the cut:
Cole was pacing in his room, not sure how to go about asking one of your best friends if you could marry his little sister. Sure, Lloyd was like a brother to him, but this was a really big question to ask.
Should he just go up to him and ask? Or should he invite him to go and get coffee or something and then ask? He wasn’t really sure, maybe he should just ask while they are training, then Lloyd has all the space to punch him in the face if he feels like it.
Cole didn’t have much more time to think about it because the door to his bedroom flung open, causing him to turn around with wide eyes.
“Are you ever going to stop pacing? I’m trying to concentrate and I can hear you,” it was Lloyd, looking quite annoyed if Cole could say so himself.
It wasn’t the first time he had barged into Cole’s room, complaining about noise, they were right beside each other and Lloyd’s super hearing didn’t really help.
“I want to marry your sister,” Cole blurted.
Smooth.
Not.
He immediately wanted to throw himself against the wall for just starting like that, no warnings, no sitting down, nothing. He hadn’t even thought about what he would do if Lloyd said no.
“You what?” His green eyes were wide as he looked at the Earth ninja, who flinched a little at his shocked, loud tone.
“I want to marry (name),” Cole said a little more calm now. “Look I know it’s sudden but last week when we were baking and she was laughing I just knew it was the time and since I have wanted to ask you because- well you know, I would ask your dad, but… well yeah,” he rambled.
He remembered a few years ago, you had told him in a sleepy state that if he asked you to marry him, he had to ask her dad for permission first, but Garmadon died, then he came back but evil and now they have no idea where he might be.
Even if Cole managed to somehow find him, if he asked, Garmadon would probably have to think who the hell this ‘(name)’ was and then tell him he didn’t care. You’d be heartbroken if you ever found out.
So he did the next best thing and went to Lloyd, who was still looking at him perplexed.
“Are you asking me for permission to propose to my sister?” He asked, causing Cole to nod with more confidence than before. “Of course you have my permission!” Lloyd exclaimed in happily and something in Cole ignited with fireworks.
“I can?” He asked with the biggest smile on his face. “Just like that? You don’t need to think about it or anything?”
“Think about it?” Lloyd asked, a frown on his face yet still wearing a smile. “Cole I have seen you love my sister for years now, you take care of her the way she deserves and she loves you and is just happy to be in your presence. If there is someone right for my sister it’s you and I would never take that away from either of you,” Lloyd explained to him and he had barely finished his sentence or Cole had ran into him to crush him into a hug, tears in his eyes.
Lloyd gently patted him on the back as he laughed and then gently pulled back.
“So, you got a ring?” He asked Cole who paused for a second.
“Uh- not yet,” he admitted, before a smile made its way onto his face. “But I have one in mind,”
———
“Wow it’s beautiful,” Nya gently took the box from Cole to examine it. The team was crowded around him, having just found out that Cole was planning to propose and had just got the ring. “Where’d you get it?” She asked, giving the box to Kai who was making grabby hands like a child.
“I just picked it up at my fathers,” he softly said. “It’s my mothers wedding ring, she always wanted me to propose with it once I grew up,” he explained, a bittersweet smile on his face.
“Cole that’s beautiful,” Nya said, resting a hand on her chest. “She’ll love it,” she insisted.
“I hope so,” Cole nervously laughed.
“She will,” Lloyd insisted, taking a step forward to put a hand on Cole’s shoulder. “She’ll say yes and she’ll love the ring and it’s sentimental worth.”
“In fact, she will cry,” Kai insisted as he handed the ring back to Cole.
“She will not cry,” Jay disagreed. “(Name) isn’t the type, she’ll be happy, but she won’t cry,” he shot Kai a challenging look, the master of fire was about to retort but Cole interrupted.
“Don’t you dare start an argument, followed by a bet about my proposal, I will crush you two morons between my palms,” he warned with narrowed eyes.
“Do you have a plan on how you’ll propose?” Zane asked Cole who softened immediately.
“Im going to take her to Skylors, it’s not very romantic, but it’s our favourite, then I’m taking her for a stroll in the park, because that’s where we went on our first date and I’m going to ask her in front of the pond I fell in,” he chuckled at the memories, the others did as well.
“She’ll love that,” Jay insisted, the others nodding along. “You’ll tell us how it goes right?” He asked making Cole nod immediately.
“Of course, immediately when we get back,” he promised.
———
“Oh my god, I am so full,” you complained as you and Cole strolled to the park, hands glued together. Yours mostly ran cold while his ran warm, so you always insisted he held your hands to warm them up.
“Really? I could go for some more sushi, maybe cake,” Cole grinned at you and you bumped into him to try and make him stumble.
Emphasis on try, because making your boyfriend that was like- two times your size stumble, was quite hard. Even with your everyday training and muscles that could make a professional boxer cry, you were not a match when it came to trying to make the earth ninja stumble.
Still he laughed and kissed your hair lovingly, squeezing your hand a little in affection.
“You just had to go for dessert,” you sighed and he let out an offence laugh.
“Excuse me? Like you would ever say no to dessert!” He countered her, while she gave him a pout. “You were practically vibrating in your seat waring for that ice cream,” he accused and she let out a defeated sigh.
“Can’t argue with that,” she admitted before shivering. “Cole, darling, I know you wanted this romantic date and all, but I’m freezing, can we please just go home and watch a movie?” You asked and he smiled sympathetically, but shook his head.
“I know, I know, just a little longer, then we can go home and warm up, alright?” He assured and you agreed (although reluctantly) and cuddled up against him, now walking arm and arm, hoping he could keep you a little warm.
The two of you walked down the path, no one else around in the park at this time of day. The moon shine bright in the sky and you once again shivered when the wind blew past your ears.
You were about to ask if you could finally go back now, when you spotted something that made you grin mischievously.
“Ah would you look at that,” you said nonchalantly, slowly walking off the path and forcing him to walk with you. “Such a beautiful pond, such great memories,” you grinned up at him to see his unamused face.
On your very first date, he had taken you for ice cream and the two of you had sat there, at the pond, watching the little ducklings with their mama.
Cole had taken bread for you, because you knew he liked feeding them, but when the bag was empty, the wind blew it into the pond. He had promised to get it for you, but had slipped and fell right in.
You had never laughed so hard as you did then.
“Darling, don’t you just want to, oh I don’t know, dive in?” You asked with a smug look in your eyes and he shook his head, a fond smile on his face.
“Do you have to bring it up every time?” He asked and you nodded, turning back to the pond and just envisioning him laying there in the water all those years ago, causing you to giggle again and turn around to mock him some more.
Only when you turned around, your mouth fell agape. There, he sat on one knee, a box with a familiar ring in hand.
Your eyes went wide and then teared up. “Cole,” you said softly and he smiled, saying your name back at you.
“I thought, maybe we can give this place a new memory, maybe one where I don’t get soaking wet?” He chuckled and you just stood there, speechless. “I would love to give you a speech, telling you how much I love you and want to spend the rest of my life with you, but I am afraid if you gave me the chance to do that, I’d still be talking tomorrow morning.”
You chuckled, a watery smile plastered on your face.
“I knew I wanted to marry you the moment I saw you laughing when I pulled my head out of the water right here, six years ago. Now, I finally have the guts and your brothers permission, to finally ask you: (name), will you marry me?”
“Yes! Yes obviously yes!” You yelled and he had barely gotten up before you crushed him in a hug and he gently held you in his arms, fireworks exploding in his chest. “Did you actually ask Lloyds permission?” You asked and he chuckled and then nodded.
“Of course I did, you told me that’s what you wanted— well not exactly but, you know?” He smiled softly at you and tears streamed down your face.
“You’re perfect, you know that?” You asked and he kissed your forehead.
“For you? Always,” he muttered against your forehead.
The Buru-Buru spirit [Japanese folklore; yokai]
The Buru-Buru is a Japanese ghost who goes around looking for people in scary or fearful situations. She stalks them, invisibly and unnoticed, and grasps their necks when they feel fear. Her touch makes people tremble, and this is supposedly what causes us to shiver when we’re scared.
Toriyama Sekien (18th century) portrayed the creature as a ghostly female apparition with very long hair. She floats and doesn’t seem to have legs, but otherwise appears pretty human. True to her nature as the embodiment of shivers, she is visibly shaking.
The name ‘Buru-Buru’ is a literal onomatopoeia for shivering or quaking. She is also called the Zozo-gami or ‘god of shivers’, and sometimes more liberally referred to as the ‘ghost of depression’. Another name for the same spirit is ‘okubyo-gami’: ‘the god of cowardice’. In modern Japanese, there is an idiom ‘okubyogami ga tsuku’, or ‘being possessed by the okubyogami’ which means turning timid.
It is actually unclear whether the Buru-Buru is a kind of ghost, or a singular individual. This is often the case with Yokai, there is no clear ‘canon’ in folklore after all.
Sekien’s 18th century yokai encyclopedias are usually regarded as the final word on Japanese folklore creatures, but they were as much intended as entertainment as they were collections of yokai descriptions. The entries in his books often included poetical humor (kaigyuaku) in the form of poems, puns and onomatopoeias. In the case of the Buru-Buru, the illustration shows a pun that is difficult to translate: the ghost arises from a hole in the ground where someone apparently tried to uproot a tree. The Japanese word for earthquake includes the same ‘buru’ syllable, so the ‘quake’ ghost arises from the earth, invoking an earthquake. This creature is not technically related to earthquakes though, it’s just a visual pun.
Next time you feel a chill across your spine, remember that it’s actually an invisible ghost floating behind you!

Your POV:
It was late, yet I was still up, reading the book that I’d bought weeks ago but never really got to reading.
The book was rather interesting, it was about a woman who worked for villains, not like you’d expect, just very much behind the scenes, living a normal life with a desk job, only she worked for a villain.
I was only at the beginning of the book, I knew that this lady was gonna get hurt by a hero at some point, it’s why I picked the book. I liked reading a villain’s perspective, it allowed you to see different sides of the story.
I was just getting to a bit of action when there was sudden, rapid knocking on my window before greenie burst trough.
“What are you doing, moron?” I asked with a laugh as he almost fell to the ground. I grinned until I met his dazed look and noticed his hand clutching his stomach. “Shit- Lloyd, what happened?” I darted out of bed and pressed my hand against his as it began to falter.
I needed to keep pressure on the wound.
“I was stabbed,” he murmured and I nodded. “You where closest,” is all he could say before he passed out.
He fell against me and together we crumbled to the ground, his full body weight leaning on me as I sat down on my knees.
“Shit!” I cursed and kept my hand on his wound, what do I do? I’ve never been in such situation- no one is home. “Hey- hey Lloyd,” I rapidly tapped his face. “Lloyd I need you to wake up, stay with me!”
His eyes opened and the sense of relief washed over me. I tried ignoring the feeling of his warm blood streaming trough my cold fingers.
“Here- come,” I took his hand and put it on the wound. “Keep pressure, I will be right back with you,” I promised. He weakly nodded and I quickly helped him sit up against my wall.
I rushed trough my room, thanking my past self for leaving a first aid kit in my room after Lloyd started coming over after missions and patrols.
I grabbed kit and my phone, dropping the kit next to Lloyd -who was thankfully still awake- before leaving to grab a clean cloth or two from the bathroom, all the while dialling Nya’s number.
“Hiya!” She picked up after two rings. “I’m kind of on patrol right now-”
“I need you to come to mine right now, Lloyd just arrived in my room with a stab wound, it’s deep, I’m gonna try to stitch it, he’s awake but barely, he’s lost a lot of blood,” I quickly named everything that just happened and I immediately noticed the shift in energy.
“Got it, I’m on my way, I’ll contact the others, do you know how to stitch?” She asked and I quickly answered with a yes. “Good, which room of the house are you in?” She asked.
“Front of the house, third story window, left, window without balcony, I’m home alone” I explained having found some cloth and now on my way back to my own room.
“I’ll be there in hopefully twenty,” she said before she hung up.
I dropped my phone to the ground and found Lloyd with lidded eyes, still keeping pressure to the wound.
“Fuck- alright Lloyd, stay awake,” I ordered and he nodded with a hum. I started to untie his gi and remove the first layer of his clothes.
“If you wanted me undressed you could’ve just said so,” he grinned and I shot him a glare.
“Not funny,” I told him angrily. “Can you put your arms in the air?” I asked and he nodded, doing what I asked, trying to hide his winces from me. I pulled his black turtleneck over his head.
I pursed my lips when I saw the wound and quickly cleaned it up with one of the cloths I’d brought with me.
“I’m gonna need to stich you up, alright?” I met his gaze and he nodded at me confidently. “Are you alright?” I asked, stupid question, I know, but still.
“Im fine sweetheart, it’s just the blood loss getting to me,” he brushed some hair out of my face. “C’mon, you won’t hurt me, you got this,” it’s like he’d read my mind and I breathed out.
“Alright,” I nodded and opened the kit, I’d laid next to us. I grabbed a cloth, putting disinfectant on it before cleaning the wound, he breathed in sharply as I touched the wound but didn’t comment. After wiping away remaining blood I was done, luckily blood wasn’t oozing out as fast anymore.
After I grabbed a needle, once again thanking my past self as I’d already put the string trough. I grabbed a lighter from the back pocket from my pants and sterilised the needle, ignoring Lloyd’s confused look.
I wiped the wound again to get rid of the new blood and took a deep breath.
“You got this princess,” he muttered. “C’mon, you can do this,” he encouraged and I nodded.
“Yeah, yeah okay,” I said before taking another big breath. This is just like how I’d trained it with dad, only now it’s real skin. My boyfriends skin.
I pierced the needle trough his skin and looked at him, he didn’t even flinch, just looked at me with an encouraging look.
Somewhere, that broke my heart, but it wasn’t time to think about that now.
I tried to keep my hands from shaking as I sewed Lloyd’s skin together, wiping away new blood every now and then.
While I was doing this, Lloyd kept whispering assuring words to me. They didn’t really help, aside from the fact that I knew that he hadn’t passed out again.
Fuck, where was Nya?
I glanced to the window but still nothing. How long had it been? It felt like it’d been hours, but that couldn’t be of course. Half an hour? She said she’d be here in ten minutes.
Or was it twenty? I didn’t really remember, I needed to finish this first.
And then, just like that, I was finally done. I closed my eyes in relief and threw my head back, breathing out a sigh.
“How are you feeling?” I asked looking back up and he smiled at me and leaned forward to kissed my forehead.
“Im fine,” he promised. “Just a little lightheaded,” he smiled at me and brushed his hand over my cheek before resting it there.
I was about to say something when he suddenly looked up and at my window, hand itching to his shuriken that I’d found while getting rid of his gi. I turned around and a second later Nya appeared, followed by Zane.
They climbed trough the window, assessing the scene as I got up.
“I stitched the wound, I hope I did it correctly,” I muttered and gestured to the fresh wound. Zane walked past me and inspected it.
“It looks good, a little rushed, but it is great,” he smiled at me and I let out a relieved sigh.
“So he’s fine?” Nya asked and Zane nodded, causing her to smile before it fell and turned to the green ninja. “You idiot!” She yelled at him and he gave her a guilty look. “We told you not to go, you are sick, and you still went! You went and you got hurt and we didn’t know!” She yelled at him and my eyes widened.
“You didn’t tell me you where sick,” I looked over at Lloyd who shrugged.
“It’s not important,” he stated and I frowned at him in confusion, causing him to scoff. “What?” He bit, causing my eyebrows to raise at his harshness.
“You can tell me if you’re sick- you should, tell me, in fact,” I told him a bit angrily. “I care for you and I want to be there for you, Lloyd,” I said, softening my voice.
“You don’t have to worry about let me, darling,” he said and my eyebrows knotted together even more.
“I’m your girlfriend, Lloyd,” I told him. “It’s my job to worry about you,” I pointed out and he stared at the ground.
“I’m sorry,” he mumbled, avoiding looking at me, even if I so desperately wanted him to.
Why wouldn’t he tell me if he was sick?
“Come,” Nya started, stepping forward to get Lloyd to his feet. “We’re getting you home and you’re getting rest,” she demanded. “And your mom can do all the scolding when we get back,”
I saw dread washing over Lloyd’s face and despite my slight anger with him at the moment, I chuckled, taking a step towards him, causing him to automatically wrap his free arm around my waist.
“I’ll see you tomorrow, I’ll stop by with some soup after school,” I promised and he just nodded. I stood on my tippy toes and kissed his cheek, making him grin happily.
“See you tomorrow then, sweetheart,” he nuzzled his nose in my hair for a second before letting Zane lead him to the door of my bedroom.
I caught Nya’s eyes and looked over at Lloyd with a concerned frown before turning back to her and raising my eyebrows. ‘You’ll look out for him?’
She smiled and winked at me before leaving my room. ‘Of course.’
———
“You look tired,” Charlie poked my cheek with his finger at morning tea, causing my to lift my gaze up to him.
“I am,” I deadpanned. “Thanks for noticing,” I banged my head on the table causing a few students around us in the cafeteria to lift their gazes at me while my friends stifled chuckles.
“Didn’t sleep well?” Flora asked me with an amused, yet pitying look. “Do I need to get you a coffee?” She asked and I scrunched my nose at the thought of the disgusting cafeteria cappuccino.
“You know what, get me a double espresso,” I said and she nodded, leaving the table with a grin. I was a bit surprised that Charlie didn’t follow, but I didn’t comment.
“Since when do you drink espresso?” Luna asked with a deep frown. “You’re already disgusted when someone orders it because of how strong it is,” she pointed out and I shrugged.
“I’m just so tired,” I mumbled. “And yeah, it is disgusting, but I’ll just chug it,” I explained and she laughed while James shook his head in disappointment next to her.
“Did you even sleep last night?” He asked me and I shook my head, picking it back up from the table. “Why?” He raised an eyebrow.
“Alright, listen- thank you, Flores- yesterday I found out that Lloyd is sick, but trough Nya, he didn’t even mention it to me, but I texted Nya and apparently he’s like sick sick, throwing up and everything,” I explained, while Flora went to sit back down on the opposite side of the table, having just handed me my coffee.
“I mean, I kinda understand him somewhere, there isn’t any need to tell you whenever he’s sick,” James pointed out carefully.
“Well I don’t need him to shoot me a text everytime he coughs, but I’d appreciate it if he would inform me if he’s barfing his guts all over the floor,” I shot af him with narrowed eyes. Charlie snorted and I hit his shoulder. “It’s not funny Charles!” I scolded.
Millie and Luna stifled grins as Charlie regretfully rubbed his shoulder, looking down at me, but I decided to just ignore them.
“Why wouldn’t he tell you?” Arthur asked with a frown. “I mean, you did talk to him throughout the day yesterday, right?” He questioned and I nodded.
“Yeah, asked him how his day was and everything, I just don’t get why he can’t tell me when he isn’t doing alright,” I rambled on.
“Maybe he doesn’t want you to worry about him,” Anthony suggested and I huffed.
“Im his girlfriend, it’s my job to worry about him,” I stated a bit annoyed, repeating my sentence from the night before. “And I get that he doesn’t want me to for all sorts of reasons, but it’d be nice if he’d let me know stuff like this,”
“All sorts of reasons?” Luna repeated. “And that means?” She asked, looking at me with confused curiosity.
I stumbled over my words, realising my slip up. “Well- just some things you know- it’s nothing much but that’s not the point of this,” I quickly said. She gave me an unconvinced look, but let it slide anyway.
“Are you mad at him?” Arthur asked me and I gave him a baffled look.
“What- no! I’m not mad, I’m just a bit upset, that’s all,” I insisted.
Just when I was about to continue, I was rudely interrupted by the bell.
“We’ll talk about it later, let’s just get to class for now,” Luna huffed, grabbing her bag and standing up, the rest of the group following.
———
“The weather is starting to look up, we should go to the skatepark somewhere this week,” Millie said, while looking up at the sky as the lot of us where leaving the school building.
It was only lunch and some of us still had some hours to go, but we where all ditching.
“The food truck in the park is not open yet, though,” Charles sadly pointed out and Anthony laughed, flicking his head.
“Always thinking about food, Charlie, we can bring some ourselves,” he suggested. “Mums getting back into baking recen- yo did you hear that?” He suddenly sharply turned his head towards the fence and we all followed his gaze.
“What did you hear?” I asked, furrowing my eyebrows as I stared at the direction the alleged noise came from.
“I heard it to, it was like- yelling and loud bangs, how didn’t you guys hear?” Luna turned her head back to us, but before anyone could answer, three men hopped the fence and ran over the school terrain, quickly followed by the ninja also hopping the fence.
The men pushed their way to the crowd, some people roughly hitting the ground while others screamed and yelped.
They where heading towards the schools entrance.
“Don’t let them get in!” I heard someone yell and I looked up to find the green ninja.
That moron, he was supposed to be resting, he was stabbed yesterday and he’s sick. This idiot. I seethed as I saw him running across the grounds.
No time to be mad right now, first things first.
I watched the men getting closer to the entrance of the school when suddenly, the doors disappeared, now there was only brick wall, no door in sight.
They staggered back in bafflement and before they could run away again, they where tackled and stopped by the ninja.
“Good going, N/n!” Amelia hugged me and I quickly shushed her, making her grin sheepishly.
I caught Kai’s gaze, and he send me a discreet thumbs up. The men where all tied and done when the ninja where swarmed with people, all asking for pictures and autographs.
I noticed some girls flirting with greenie and I rolled my eyes in annoyance. He was just politely talking back, laughing nervously. One of them laid a hand on his shoulder and I vaguely heard her make a comment about his muscles.
I huffed and cast my eyes down to the ground. “Moron,” I looked up in shock when I heard Nya’s voice. She’d escaped the crowd and came to stand with us. “He doesn’t even realise,” she shook her head.
“Hello to you too, water,” I grinned, while my friends where watching in slight awe. “What happened?” I asked, nodding towards the still tied up men, Zane was fussing over, ignoring the crowd completely.
“Bank robbery,” she explained. “They where armed, it’s good that you kept them out of the school like that, thank you,” she patted my shoulder and I gave her an innocent smile.
I looked back at greenie who also looked up just as I did and met his gaze. His eyes brightened and he excused himself before happily making his way over to me.
He hugged me and spun me around making my yell in protest.
“Green- put me down!” I insisted and he laughed before putting me back on the ground.
“Princess, it’s been a while,” he greeted and I crossed my arms, giving him an unamused look.
“Still got a boyfriend, greenie,” I reminded dryly. “Shouldn’t you be of, flirting with your fans?” I asked him, narrowing my eyes.
Before he could answer, three girls showed up, one of them being Maggie, who’d asked me if greenie had a girlfriend a few weeks back.
“Green ninja,” she smiled brightly at him. “I just want to thank you for everything you do for Ninjago,” she tugged a piece of hair behind her ear and gave him a sickly sweet look.
“Oh- yeah, no problem,” greenie answered sheepishly. He glanced at me but I just gave him an unamused look back.
“Hey, is it true that you have a girlfriend?” Another girl quipped and Lloyd stumbled over his words at the question.
“Uhm, well, it’s- well no, but- yeah no,” he shook his head, and I huffed a small laugh in amusement.
“She said you did,” Maggie pointed an accusing finger at me and I pursed my lips. “So you lied?” She crossed her arms, giving me an angry look, quite the opposite of how she just looked at Lloyd.
Greenie cleared his throat and I looked at him. “You told people that I have a girlfriend?” He asked, eyes narrowing a bit.
“Yeah, it was funny,” I shrugged. “They asked me and I thought it was a weird question but I just said yes,” I chuckled.
He shook his head. “Unbelievable,” he muttered and I just shrugged in pure amusement.
“Trouble,” I suddenly felt a hand ruffle my hair, messing it up, causing me to dive away.
“Red!” I whined, combing my fingers trough my hair. “Not funny,” I grumbled and he let out a huff of laughter before directing his attention to the other two ninja.
“Ice says we’ve gotta go,” he told them and Nya- or well, water, whined and clung to my arm. “I know, but we’ll see n/n later, for now we’ve got some robbers to deal with,” he told his sister and she rolled her eyes but let go off me anyway.
“Fine, let’s go,” she aswel, ruffled my hair before following the other two ninja to the entrance of the school, where the bank robbers where tied up.
“Seriously?” I called after her, but she paid me no mind. I huffed and crossed my arms. “Morons,” I grumbled.
I looked over at Maggie and her friends who were dreamily staring at the ninja as they rounded up the thugs and started making their leave. I rolled my eyes when j noticed Maggie specifically eyeing Lloyd.
Why was she so obsessed? She doesn’t even know who he is under the mask, she doesn’t even know what he’s like.
“Let’s go, before she bites my head off for lying to her about greenie having a girlfriend,” i turned around and continued walking, quickly followed by my friends.
———
“Why do you think he didn’t tell you then?” Luna was sat up on the kitchen counter while I put a large pot on the stove to start making a nice vegetable soup, my mom’s recipe and Lloyds favoruite.
She had come with me to my house after we all had lunch as a group in a small cafe we visited regularly. After lunch, we had all split to go our own ways and she’d joined me on my way home because she knew that if she went to hers, her parents would probably be fighting again.
I was ranting to Luna about how I felt Lloyd didn’t let me in as much as I thought he should. He was incredibly sick for gods sake and he didn’t even tell me, we literally called for like an hour yesterday, he had all the time to tell me.
Not to forget a lot of other different things, but I didn’t tell her much about those, afraid of outing his identity to Luna.
“I don’t know,” I sighed in annoyance, starting to chop up the vegetables. “Maybe he just doesn’t want me to worry to much about him, but I think that’s stupid. He’s sick, it happens to everyone and it’s normal, there is no problem in letting me know, in fact, I want to know,” I rambled on.
“So you can dote on him,” Luna grinned at me.
“Exactly!” I pointed at her… with the knife, causing her to raise her eyebrows and me to realise what I did. “Sorry,” I laughed. “But it’s not only that, it’s just also other things, like I told you about the nightmare he had and that he refused to tell me, or when he has a down day and I ask him why he brushes me off, that kind of stuff,” I sighed as I scraped the first vegetables into the pot. “I’d just like to know what’s wrong so I can help him and make him feel better,”
“You know, you should really talk to him about this,” Luna pointed out while stealing a piece of carrot from me. “If you want to know, ask him,” she added, now with her mouth full, causing me to sent her a scolding look.
“I know, I know,” I mumbled. “And I’m going to, I really am, but I just wanted your opinion on the matter and someone to ramble to,” I explained.
“And I am always here, I mean whenever you want-” she cut herself of when suddenly she gasped, making me look up at her in alarm a d confusion. “Do you want to know what I want your opinion on?” She suddenly asked.
“Spill,” I said excited.
“Charlie and Flora,” she said and it was enough for me to gasp aswel.
“Oh my god, yes!” I agreed, immediately knowing what she was talking about. “They are being SO weird,” I exclaimed with wide eyes.
“Yes!” She as good as yelled. “Like what the hell? The way he doesn’t even look her in the eye, they barely even talk,” she summed.
“They don’t talk at all. Period.” I corrected.
“Exactly!” She pointed at me in excitement, mostly that we both realised something was up. “Like when she went to get you coffee, he didn’t follow and she keeps sending him these looks while he doesn’t look at her at all,” she summed.
“Oh and constantly sitting on the other sides of the table,” I added. “Both during break and at lunch at the cafe, not even close enough to be touching feet or anything,”
“Oh and she is being so quiet, I mean, Millie seriously had to ask her about her new manicure, normally it’d be the first thing she’d show us,” Luna added even more and suddenly I gasped.
“Yes and holy shit! I looked over at Charlie when she was telling us about it because you know, normally he makes at least one sex joke about it, which he didn’t by the way, and his man, he was GLARING at her,” I had almost abandoned my now cut veggies, which were waiting to be thrown into the pot.
“For real!?” She exclaimed with wide eyes. “He can’t look at her any other way but adoringly,” she countered.
“My point!” I called out. “He always looks at her like she is his whole world and lets be for real, she is,” I said.
“So conclusion? They fought right?” Luna pointed out the obvious answer.
“Oh yeah, they most definitely fought,” I agreed.
“Though, what did they fight about? They always fight over something stupid and then Charles has to beg for her forgiveness with flowers or chocolate,” Luna giggled at the thought, making me join thinking of the last time they had a quibble.
“I don’t see him doing that now though,” I said thoughtfully. “He seems more mad at her than she at him,” I pointed out.
Normally, when they fought, they were both mad at each other, but Flora was better at holding a grudge. So when Charlie could finally admit that yeah maybe he was wrong, Flora was still angry and he begged for her forgiveness and then they’d talk and make up.
But now, now it looked like he was angry at her in a way he had never been before. It wasn’t clear if she was angry at him, but knowing Flora, she probably was.
“Now I’m really invested in what they fought about, you think we should ask either of them?” Luna asked while I finally made a move to put the vegetables in the pot along with some spices and butter.
“If we ask one of them, I vote for Flores,” I said as I turned on the gas. “I don’t need Charlie to yell at us for sticking our nose into his business,” I shivered at the thought.
“Ohh, I remember the first time he snapped at James,” Luna looked at me with wide eyes. “Poor boy looked like a kicked puppy,”
We shared a look, remembering how bad we felt for James, who’d only been trying to help.
Before I could say anything, Luna’s phone started to ring. She picked it from her back pocket and glanced at the called ID while I put on the kettle for hot water.
“Oh speak of the devil,” she said and picked up the video call. “Jamie, what’s up,” she greeted and turned the screen so I could wave at him.
“No time for chit chat,” he waved her off. “Please tell me you’ve realised how weird Flores and Charlie are being,” he said and I immediately joined Luna on the counter to get into frame.
“Holy crap we were just talking about it!” I half shouted. “They’re being so weird, any idea what’s going on?” I asked him.
“Okay so, Charlie told me and he told me not to tell anyone but he like- he should know that if he tells me I’ll tell you… right?” He asked hesitantly.
Luna and I shared a glance.
“Obviously he should know that,”
“Everyone knows that whatever one of us knows the others know, he’s not daft,”
“Right?” James grinned, letting himself fall into his bed. “Okay so, brace yourselves,” he warned. “Yesterday, Charlie found out that Flores is moving to Nom because her neighbour told him,” our jaws fell open.
“Flores is moving?” I sadly asked, feeling Luna grip my hand tight.
“Yeah I know but grieve later, listen to me,” James interrupted. “So obviously he’s mad at her and confronts her, which causes her to cry and apologise and then she admitted she’s already known for like- three months and now he’s even more angry, because not only did she keep it for him so long, he had to find out trough her neighbour!” James rambled on while we ate up every word in silence our eyes growing wider at each sentence.
“So she tells him that Millie already knows because she had to confide is someone, but she was so scared to tell us because of our reactions and especially his reaction and that she wasn’t sure how to tell him because she knew he would react like this. Then she said she contemplated if they should break up or do long distance or whatever they could do, which causes him to get so angry that he told her, and I quote ‘well you know what? sure let’s break up, good fucking riddance,’ which I told him was incredibly stupid and yeah, he agrees,” Jamie had to almost yells the last bit over the angry yelling of me and Luna.
“That moron told her WHAT!?”
“Oh let’s see if he can repeat that sentence when punch him in the fucking face,”
“The hell does he think he is? Yelling at her like that,”
“What the heck, I mean I get that he’s mad, even I’m a little upset, but come on!”
“Yeah, yeah I get it, let me continue!” James yelled over us, causing Luna to huff.
“Let us react, bitch boy, we are hearing this story for the very first time you know,” she grumbled while he made and offended noice at the name she called him.
“Come on James, you can’t tell his story and not expect us to react?” I agreed with her.
“BITCH BOY!?” He yelled out and me and Luna laughed. “Oh I am not forgetting this dishonour, just you wait, Hansley,” he threatened Luna who just laughed at him.
“Come on Jamie, continue,” I urged, very interested in what was going to happen next in the story.
“Alright,” he huffed in annoyance. “So he tells her that and she just gives him this shell shocked look, probably not sure what to say, for obvious reasons,” he explained and we nodded along. “So then he tries to walk away and she stops him, insisting that that should just talk and to please not go but you know, it’s Charlie, so he tells her to piss of because they’re not together anymore and there is nothing to talk about since she is leaving anyway,” he finally finished and we looked at him in silence.
“So they broke up?” I asked, still shocked. “Holy shit,” I looked at Luna with wide eyes while she just stared at the screen at James.
“And they haven’t even talked since, he blocked her,” James added on.
“Oh my god and Flores is moving,” Luna sadly said, a little shaky.
I moved off the counter to grab the water that had already boiled minutes ago, pouring it onto the vegetables that where sizzling and started to stir. Just so I could be doing something, anything, because I wasn’t sure what else I could do.
“Yeah, in two bloody months,” James sounded over the speaker of the phone. “I was already wondering why she’d been so down lately, I asked Millie but she just said to let it be,”
Well, we all know why. Flora and Amelia were really good friends, they told each other everything, just like Jamie, Luna and I tell each other everything. So she probably already knows about the break-up.
“So that’s why Millie was also being so passive aggressive to him today,” Luna realised. “She obviously knows what happened,” she looked at me and I just nodded.
“Should we ask her about it?” James asked and I frowned, looking over.
“As if she’d say anything, obviously she wouldn’t tell us anything about it and she is right not to,” I insisted.
“Agreed,” Luna nodded. “Flores will come to us when she sees fit,” she decided and jumped of the counter. “In the meantime, I am going to bite Charlie’s head off and then hear him out right after,”
“What?! No don’t, he’ll know I was the one who told you!” James protested. “Would you do that to me, Lu?” I knew by the sound of his voice he was giving her puppy eyes.
“Yes, I would,” she said without hesitation. “Come on Jamie, we just decided that he knew what he signed himself up for, besides, if he attacks you, you can take him,” she grinned.
“THE HELL I CAN-” but Luna already hung up the phone and put it in her pocket.
“I’ll see you tomorrow,” she gave me a quick side hug while I still stirred the soup. “Don’t overthink the whole Charlie and Flora situation, it’ll be alright and good luck with Lloyd, that’ll be alright to, okay?” She smiled at me and I looked up.
“Yeah, yeah, fine.” I agreed and she chuckled before waving me goodbye and leaving the kitchen.
I put the heat lower and left to go upstairs and change my clothes.
When I came back, I tasted the soup, added some spices and than put it in a smaller pan and took it with me to go and see Lloyd.
