“Right, like The Joker!” She has seen the Batman movies (not the most recent one yet) and he is creepy, but cool. “Oh… I’d just want to hug Sam forever, poor guy. He deserves better,” she decided, letting herself feel everything as if Sam was a real guy, not just a guy from a book. “An angel said that? What a load of turd. Makes sense though, given they’re warriors of evil and so on.” She waved her hand casually.

“I’m no good at reading so I’ll just have to depend on you to introduce me to this world of Supernatural.” She grinned in return. It sure sounded interesting, but books never managed to hold her attention for long. “Hmm… well, you’re for sure on the right path to become an actor. I’ll be your first fan,” she promised. “Tricky career. All the attention is awesome but being in the spotlight 24/7? How about walking the dog in just your PJs? That’s all over then, isn’t it?” She pondered out loud.

“Yeah, kinda like the Joker,” Kristen agreed. “And yeah, Sam is definitely the type of character you just want to protect, even though he did sort of cause the apocalypse.” She smiles, getting too into the conversation to stop now. “The angel in question is awesome actually, he’s very blunt but like, he hasn’t been around humans before he meets the brothers. The angels are generally kinda terrible, but Castiel is awesome. He’s my favorite.” 

“Oh, yeah that makes sense. Do tell me to shut up if I go on about it too much though, I am kind of obsessed.” She blushed, running a hand through her hair. “Acting definitely has its downsides, yes. I’m not great with a lot of attention and stuff, but I really love being on the stage and just losing myself in a character for a while, it’s so exciting!”

Kristen reminded her of a quokka. Soft features, gentle eyes and a kind expression. It made Mary want to tuck her under her wing and protect her from everything bad. “Oh, a demon you say? That don’t sound too good. I like his name. It’s cool. Crowley. Crowley,” she repeated in different intonations, testing the name as it fell from her lips. Her mouth fell open when Kristen continued with her explanation of the pins. “An abomination? Poor Sam! Whatever did the guy do?” She asked curiously. “And what is this book series we’re talking about?”

Mary grinned as she threw her braid over her shoulder. “Every day if I could,” she confessed. “And I might have a slight crush on Noel. Y'know, the presenter with the quirky outfits and the makeup?” He was odd, but odd was good. “I want to be a baker when I grow up.” A giggle ensued. “Makes me sound like a six year old, huh? How about you? What are your plans?”

“Oh yeah, Crowley is one of those villains you can’t help but love. As for Sam, he’s one of the good guys, but he’s kind of cursed by this other demon who fed him demon blood when he was a baby and I guess it sort of tainted his soul or something. It’s an angel who says the abomination thing.” She smiled, “it’s the Supernatural books, it’s about these two brothers who hunt monsters together. Sam is one of them, and Dean is his older brother.” 

“I do know Noel, yes!” Kristen grinned. In her opinion he was the best thing about the show. “He’s really cool, yeah” The next question is harder. What does she want to do? “Well, I don’t know, really. Acting would be cool, but I’m not sure I want to pursue it as a career.”

Even though it was her first time joining a musical production at this new school, Mary interacted with everyone as though she’d known them for years. It was just part of who she was, wanting everyone to feel welcome - and for herself to be accepted just as easily. “Hiya there!” She beamed at a girl about her age, just a little shorter. “I’m Mary McCall, new at this school. But I used to be in the drama club at my previous school, hence me being here.”

Without hiding her curiosity, she stepped to the side to inspect the girl’s backpack. It said a lot about a person and she was dying to get to know everyone ASAP (and hopefully make some new friends). “Hey, what do these pins mean? You a fan of something? Looks like some sorta metal band… Crowley?” She asked, raising her eyebrows. “Who’s that?” Her backpack slipped of her shoulder and she pointed at a small pin which said ‘star backer’. “This one’s from the Great British Bake Off, my guilty pleasure.”

Kristen had heard there would be a new girl in the theater department, and she was equal parts excited and nervous about meeting her. She liked making friends, but she wasn’t always great with first impressions. The girl seemed really friendly though, she was talking to people like they were already friends, so when the girl addressed her she smiled sheepishly. 

“Hi,” she said, “I’m Kristen. It’s really nice to meet you, we could always use new people in the musical.” She blushed when the girl commented on her pins, not wanting to come off as silly. She did like talking about Supernatural though. “Well, Crowley is this character from a book series I love. He’s a demon. That other one there, that says 'Sam of course is an abomination' is also from the book series,” she said. “Oh you watch Great British Bake Off? That’s cool, I watch it with my friend sometimes.”
