Not miniature related, but it looks like Skaven Warpfire so...

Lastly we have modern plastic. I am absolutely in love with this model. Sculpt is superb, the level of detail is amazing, it doesn't snap with a slight breeze *coughfailcastcough*.

Pictures don't make the model justice. I am happy with the range of reds in the model, the muscle on the armor, the wings, the gems, pistol, shoulder pads... Only thing I am not that happy with is the base, but I don't know what I could do to help.

More WIP of Lemartes and the other two Chaplains.

I don't know how you guys manage to paint so fast. I was painting the reds and other color details of these guys for about 6-7 hours today. I just need to edge highlight the black armour, and I'll be done. Well, except for the bases.

Fortunately the jump packs are done already

For the speed painting, I'll said it come a lot from planification. I often tend to do test befor going on newy projects to aquir the knowledge of what to put forward and what not.

Even if, I confess, I lose quite some time on details that I'll be the only one to notice at the end 🤣😂

Yeah, in the end I only paint for myself, never intending to play with the minis, so I tend to go all in with the details, to the best of my ability... and it takes time.

I dunno what I'll paint next, I have a converted Dante and some sanguinary guard started, but it is such a change from all that black...

Also I have a ton of exams to grade, and my painting table is currently ocuppied with my computer from the university, so it is not easy to find the time and energy to move everything around... And on top of that we have a baby girl on the way, so the free time issue is not likely to get better ;)

The second “age” of miniatures is this one. The god-awful finecast. This model was a mess of bubbles everywhere. I tried to fix it with green stuff, with various degrees of success. But in a model so full of rivets as this, the problem is exacerbated.

In any case, I am pleased with the result. I’ll post a picture of the old-old Lemartes close to this old “new” lemartes, for a size comparison. It is hilarious.

I finished them!

All three Chaps are done. Each of them from one of the big eras of miniatures, starting with this one: Metal. This light conversion is pretty old (I did it like 15 years ago), this guy has Dante’s Inferno Pistol, as well as his jump pack, the only thing relatively new is the base. Pretty nice an easy to paint. Only downsides, the conversions were horribly hard (cutting metal is hard as fuck), and paint chips very easily. Well, and also the detail is not as good as in more recent models, and also the Blood Angels metal shoulder pad has a very porous texture, it can be weird to paint. Another curiosity, the helmet on the ground is my first time ever painting one in Blood Angels red, all I have until this point is Death Company, and a Furioso Dreadnought.

I am specially proud of the leather of the handle of the Crozius, done following @falchieyan​ excellent recipe. By the way, the shaft of the Crozius of this miniature is hilariously thick XD

Since this is, technically, a paint job, I suppose I can upload it here. A bit of context: I teach geometry and technical drawing at the Aerospace Eingeneering School of UPM, in Madrid. Since the shutdown I’ve been teaching online, I bought a whiteboard, a webcam, on top of using Geogebra to keep my students engaged. This very simple points and segments in space I used to show projection plane changes in a diedric system. Fortunately we use the European projection instead of the American one, or I would not be able to use this, without some kind of transparent paper or something. :) Shitty paint job, but all I have time for lately...

This might be another marine with a not exactly legal but cool looking loadout. He might also be SlamCap Titus, which from what I understand is a pretty competitive option. I just gave him a crux terminatus to signify that he is a veteran from the first company. Probably a terminator thay swiched to jump pack, but kept storm shield and thunder hammer as weapons.

Let's be honest here. This loadout doesn't make much sense, he'd blow himsef up in no time! But I think it looks rad as hell. B)

I tried the airbrush fading on an extra power sword I had lying around, and I forgot to do the masking and shifting, so I tried the lightining effect, and I think it looks pretty darn cool. All in all, really happy with this one!
