I know it's not traditional to put one's own face as their Tumblr PFP, but I was really feeling my oats in this photo.
"I watch Blood of Zeus for the story."
The story:
They're all so pretty 🧡
My brain has been hardwired to look at people's choice of footwear since I work for a company whose name starts with a 'V', ends with an 'S', and is associated with checkerboard and waffles. So, I'm regularly looking at people's shoes, either to grab try-on socks, a suggestion shoe, or silently judge them in public or at the gym. Given that context, the footwear choices in Blood of Zeus got me thinking about that one scene from Disney's Hercules.
I wish I could make my Bedrock hiking sandals look as cool as the sandals in Blood of Zeus, but it's not happening any time soon lmao
Very glad to meet another BoZ Athena simp
I need her to slam me into a wall at full force
Ok bye
Bout to kick gum and chew ass in this final season.
We kicked gum and chewed ass for only a few minutes even though there was a war happening. Because who needs to see the development of the gods' plans to win the war against Typhon and the titans . . .
I wish I could have had Athena's level of foresight to see how half-baked the final season was going to be. Watching it made me want to eat my own eyeballs.
I am fashionably late to the party, but I just listened to Epic today. The production is fun, the vocals sound amazing, and the writing is *chef's kiss*. I was initially hesitant to listen because I am picky about my theatre, especially musicals. Epic just sounds amazing.
Listening to all of the EPs made my creative gears start turning in my head. Now, I'm stuck with the itch of wanting to make a hardstyle remix/bootleg of one of the songs. There are so many melody ideas from the vocals. Probably in the style of a Defqon.1 endshow track like Embrace The Dark by Ghost Stories or Transforming by Sound Rush and Sogma. Big, dramatic, and emotional.
(To this corner of Tumblr, I probably sound like I'm talking in tongues, lmao. Most people don't know what hardstyle is, and if they do, it's the poorly produced gym bro stuff.)
Bout to kick gum and chew ass in this final season.
Blood of Zeus Season 3 | Official Trailer

Athena, my beloved 😌
I'm going to be honest. I'm nervous about the final season. Season two was decent, but it could have been like three or four episodes longer to give things space to breathe and develop. Really hope they pace decently and give plot points the time they need to stew for the final season. That already feels like I may be expecting too much, but we'll see.
The State department has changed LGBTQ to LGB.
If you claim to care about trans people now is a good time to show genuine ally ship.
And I mean being an ACTUAL ally.
I don't mean sexualizing us or watching trans porn.
I don't mean treating trans mascs like "uwu soft baby boy" and trans femmes as "yass queen girl boss".
I don't mean expecting praise for using the right pronouns and using incorrect ones when "they're a bad trans person".
I mean ACTUAL SUPPORT.
Donate to trans shelters or organizations. DON'T out us to people we aren't out to. Go to protests if you're able, FIGHT ALONGSIDE US. Don't bring us around people you know are transphobic or dangerous, the list goes on. The LGBTQ community is ALL of us not just some of us.
Trans people who are documented as trans on government documents are currently not able to get passports - whether or not they accept their passport being issued as their birth sex, any indication that you're trans on a document that can be accessed by the government is being used as reason to deny a passport.
This is incredibly alarming. Even agreeing to be labeled as your birth sex is not sufficient. They want to deny trans people the ability to leave the country. Any possible reason for this is horrifying.
We need to rally now. Protect the entire community, do not allow them to throw any of us under the bus. None of us will be spared, they're just coming for the most vulnerable people first, and soon enough the most vulnerable people will be YOU.
I am reblogging this because I am a trans, bisexual, and mentally disabled man living in California. Although my rights to healthcare and updating my ID and birth certificate will remain protected in my state, I would be unable to get a new passport or update my social security information. It is troubling to me that there has been radio silence from Lambda, ACLU, and Human Rights Campaign in regards to these actions against trans, nonbinary, and intersex individuals. I am happy they are fighting the military ban (even if our military kinda sucks), and the attempt to defund and take away trans healthcare, but I would like to see some of that attention put into challenging the social security and passport issue. I could be wrong as they may be working on a solution while I'm typing this.
The tactics being used to attack us and our other marginalized siblings is a tactic our global society has known before. In 1933, the Nazi's and Hitler began to strip Jewish people of their rights. They were removed from government jobs and high skill career positions. In 1935, the Nuremberg Laws were enacted to strip Jewish Germans of their citizenship so that they could be institutionalized. The party in power knows what they are doing. Attempts to strip us and our POC and immigrant siblings of our citizenship and documentation, executive orders that go against the Constitution of the United States, and blatant disregard for science and basic human empathy.
We and our allies need to fight back. Make phone calls, write letters, write emails, reach out in any way you're able to to your senators and representatives no matter their party. It's not about whether or not we agree with them. It's about demanding that they do the job they campaigned and signed up for; to work for us and our ability to live happy lives. Protest in your towns, your cities, your capitals, and in places where there will be impact. Seek out and save information for others to access in the event of historical, scientific, and government information being taken away.
And for those of you who are protesting; it doesn't matter if you're holding a Mexican flag, an American flag, or a pride flag. Optics only take you so far in a system that consistently has attempted to dismantle peaceful protest and civil disobedience. Peaceful didn't stop police in the south from shooting fire hoses at folks fighting for equal rights and desegregation in the 1950s and 1960s.
I hope this reaches lots of people who feel similarly.
The high amount of grape/non-con fiction on Ao3 under the Lara Croft tag is disturbing to put it mildly.
I have this sneaking suspicion that it's the same section of fans that has been whinging about show Lara having emotional depth and a muscular physique.
The new Tomb Raider show on Netflix has me feeling some feelings and thinking some thoughts.
There is something validating and simultaneously heartbreaking about watching a character go through the same emotions and maladaptive stuff you went through to deal with the PTSD/CPTSD. Ignoring your healing, disconnecting from people who love you, not taking care of yourself properly, the nightmares, apologizing for not being a good friend or being present, all of the crying at the slightest show of care because what you went through made you feel like you didn't deserve it, and then finally being able to start healing and making connections again and feeling loved by the people around you.
A lot of people are complaining about Lara's characterization and minimizing it as "daddy issues" (which is super fucked up and kind of sexist ngl), but I think it's nice to see stuff like this in media that people can connect to. Especially since I myself struggle with PTSD, and no, it's not "daddy issues" or "being a cry baby" or "being whiny." It is being afraid to live life after years of traumatic experiences or one giant traumatic experience because you think that just by existing that the things are going to happen again when they were never your fault in the first place.
I hope I'm not annoying, but is anyone taking fanfiction requests for the new show that came out? Specifically for trans masc or gender neutral reader x Lara Croft stuff? I have searched hell and high water for fics, but it's been impossible to find anything for folks like me.
me: i'm watching the new tomb raider show for the plot
the plot:
Yes, I am feeling very normal about this show. The most normal.
Is anyone on here taking fanfiction requests?
