I don't have an intro for this account So I thought I should make one!

Hi yall! I'm Maddie and I use she/her pronouns :)

I love writing more than anything in the world. I work with kids and I'm in college rn! I hope to become a veterinarian and move out of the US someday.

Quick question for my other american Fantasy High fans, is it just me or are all the characters a year older than they should be? Like yes obviously Fabian is a year above, but at the very start of Freshman year they mention that Fabian is 16 while Fig is 15 (in their first convo with Penelope). Maybe it's a regional thing, too, but at least where I live you (usually) start Freshman year at 14 and END it at 15. Maybe Fig just has an early birthday, because Adaine turns 16 sometime over sophomore year spring break which is pretty normal.

On the same train of thought, do we have a layout for the age order of the bad kids? Fabian is the oldest ofc, but aside from that?

Werewolf Adaine would have been such an interesting character arc omfg. Would her parents have let her come home? Would she have to hide it? How long COULD she have hid it from them? Would she have ever forgiven Jawbone? What would Aelwyn's reaction be to her baby sister being a werewolf? Even if Adaine forgave Jawbone, I sincerely doubt Aelwyn would've (at least post-villan Aelwyn, I can't figure out if Aelwyn would've cared during Freshman year, but I lean towards no). Also, "bloodthirsty Adaine" with WEREWOLF strength would have straight up demolished battles. Also! How would her position as the oracle be impacted? Not because it's the Elven oracle, she can be an elf AND a werewolf, but because Fallinel is pretty historically prejudiced against lycanthropes, hence the need for wolfsong.

On a seperate note... how the fuck did Kristen never turn if it just takes being bit by a werewolf in wolf/hybrid form? You're telling me Kristen and Tracker, two healers who in the prime of their relationship SIXTY-NINED ON THE BATTLEFIELD TO HEAL OTHERS, never got a bit bitey while Tracker was transformed? I'm pretty sure werewolves don't need to be intentionally trying to turn you, if they bite you its a constitution saving throw one way or another. Talk about miracles

We as a fandom do NOT talk about the wrong kids enough and it truly pains me. That live show is one of the most heartwrenching things I've seen in terms of Fantasy High, even though it initially seems like a comedic bit.

Zelda being in it for Gorgug, even though they end up breaking up and hardly thinking about one another just a year later.

Ayda being in it for Fig, but eventually reincarnating, becoming a teen, and forgetting her altogether. Telling her that she has no problem hurting her because she doesn't remember her anyways, only for her to be shown all the versions of herself in all the realities who always fall in love with Fig.

Tracker being in it for Kristen!!! Oh my god do not get me STARTED. Abandoning her reality IMMEDIATELY upon hearing that Kristen is alive in this Fig's universe. But unbeknownst to her, in this Fig's universe her and Kristen have broken up. Name a more toxic sapphic romance than "I would leave everyone and everything I knew behind if it meant I could see you again, and that STILL isn't enough to keep us together."

Aelwyn being in it for Adaine is also insanely gut wrenching. Everyone up until this point was there because of romance, but that is her baby sister and if she isn't there then what's the point? Adaine is always the catalyst for Aelwyn, whether its for better or worse.

AND THE LAST TWO MEMBERS BEING RAGH AND ZAYN! Ragh, tangentially, is probably there for Fabian, but he's also the big brother of all of those kids. He and Zayn are in the same class as Aelwyn a bit, because if the world can take the bad kids away, the people who showed them how to be kind and good, then how good can it really be? Furthermore, neither one of them is SUPER connected to Fabian or Riz. Ragh is arguably closer to Gorgug, and I'm not sure Zayn EVER interacts with Riz one on one.

So Fabian, popular boy of Aguefort, oracool of dance, the boy who was supposed to write his name on the face of the world is somehow alone again. Without the bad kids, who does he have that would be as outraged as say, Ayda or Tracker? His mom, who left him alone in his house for a year? The hangman, who is his closest companion and also essentially his pet? Mazey, who he hasn't met yet?

And Riz. Riz, who was so so scared that he would have no one, to the point of creating a nightmarish manifestation of him trying to hide his true self, has no specific person in this group, created to avenge (or at least out of mourning for) the bad kids. Half the group was made from their partners, half from siblings or close friends, neither of which Riz has outside of those who have evidently died with him.

Kipperlilly using subliminal messaging through the food trucks to try and say "vote kipperlilly", except what it actually said was "✔️ K" and her opponent's name also starts with a K.

Kipperlilly trying to bottle up her anger and act normal, only really having it show when she's mocked by a group of people that don't find it threatening anyway (making her even more pissed), even though she's at an adventuring school where a good portion of the student body wouldn't be turned off by it at all.

Kipperlilly killing Buddy instead of the bad kid's proctor during the last stand, bringing him back with a rage star only for Buddy to not get the plan at all and fuck the rat grinders over when it comes to getting the name of the dead god.

Kipperlilly killing her best (and only) friend Lucy, probably assuming she'd take the deal with Porter like all the others, only for her to nearly permanently die and be half the reason the bad kids found out that Kipperlilly specifically was evil.

Kipperlilly thinking she's gaming the system in freshman year, then being pissed that "grinding" and exp farming didn't make her a world renound adventurer like the bad kids were, even though they saved Spyre three times over.

Kipperlilly assuming that because she was (maybe) higher level than the bad kids, she could beat them in combat. Yet her farming the system made it so that she had no clue how ACTUAL combat works, and put a massive target on her back from Riz because he was so mad that she hadn't fucking tried.

Kipperlilly fucking herself over time and time again in an attempt to beat people who don't know she exists in a game she has put herself into. Kipperlilly digging her own grave as she digs Lucy's. Kipperlilly thinking none of this is fair even while she misinterprets every trauma and setback the bad kids have dealt with as some advantage in adevnturing. Kipperlilly Copperkettle, how the complicated women's podcast would love you.

Fig canonically being a "super bubbly cheerleader" before she found out she was a tiefling is very dear to me. The idea that someone from her middle school is just watching the news one day and sees Fig Faeth, the popular elf girl from (presumably) Oakshield, covered in blood and with horns, just having killed Kalvaxus is so funny. "Oh Fig? The flyer from the cheer team? Yeah she runs hell now."

One of the worst non-final-boss bad guys in Fantasy High will forever be Biz Glitterdew to me. I despise that fucking pixie, and yes, I'll talk about the mind manipulation shit he "went through" in this post.

I feel like people forget that he was NOT a freshman like the bad kids in season one, he was a senior. In other words, the bad kids were all 14-15 (except Fabian) and Biz would've been 17-18.

I don't super care about him being a part of Goldenhoard's entourage of evil workers, a bunch of people were who I take less issue with. I more care that Biz is one of the only genuinely creepy and sexually predatory people we see in Fantasy High. He harrasses Adaine pretty much as soon as he's semi-alone with her, hypothetically completely seperate of the plan to stop the bad kids from ending Goldenhoard. Biz's role was largely to get the bad kids to trust him, so him being a creep to Adaine, who in no way reciprocates his obsession at any point, was all his own doing.

Adaine literally tells him that she does not like him SO many times, and he just keeps being predatory. It gets to the point that Adaine feels the need to message Fig and Kristen so she can tell them "do not leave me alone with this guy".

At no point is any kind of harassment harmless in any situation, but Biz takes it a step further, planning to LITERALLY KIDNAP ADAINE AND HOLD HER HOSTAGE. If you actually read into it, Biz almost implies that he was working with Goldenhoard specifically so that he could get the technology to kidnap her. And I don't believe for a SECOND that he was just gonna let her go or put her on a shelf or something else semi-benign.

"But Biz was being manipulated! His memories were being messed with!" Not really actually! I totally get why so many people don't know this, because it's never actually brought up in the series, but Biz wasn't being manipulated from the start. Brennan at one point (in the d20 discord) says that Biz was genuinely just evil (direct quote: "so as to Biz: He, Aelwen* and Penelope were all truly BAD! They willingly helped Kalvaxis*. They were only manipulated insofar as they modified their OWN MEMORIES to help protect one another and KVX" *sic) and had only modified his own memory to protect both himself and Goldenhoard.

Not to mention, even with a gun to his head, Riz having SHOT OFF two of his fingers and Fig having burned his crotch, he is STILL BEING GROSS TO ADAINE. When asked to describe the palimpsests, he turns to Adaine and says "If I had a morsel such as yourself-" before promptly being slapped by all the bad kids and knocked back out. He literally doesn't stop for anything, he still thinks he'll get away with creeping on her hogtied and surrounded by her friends.

So, TLDR, Biz was a fucking creep, wanted to kidnap a minor, and was never being manipulated

Adaine and Riz SOMEHOW having reputations as being the more "sane" or "logical" people in the group is so funny to me. They have that repuation because they're the "nerd squad" (canon) so they're smart and bad at social interactions (also canon), but they truly are the most unhinged members of the bad kids (including Kristen!) and you can not change my mind.

This is Adaine "I killed our father so naturally my sister should kill our mother" Abernant. At one point she gets the nickname "bloodthirsty Adaine" (though it's mostly a joke). She's also incredibly kind and forgiving in situations where she needs to be, but she's a wizard whos primary defense is straight up punching someone and repeatedly has asked for a gun. She heard that Kipperlilly hates the bad kids (in part) because she thinks their traumatic backstories give them an unfair advantage in adventuring, and her first response was "why doesn't she just kill her parents?"

This is Riz "cut his head off so he can't come back" Gukgak. He ate the dragon who killed his dad, shot a man's fingers off for fucking with his friends, and offered to bite a mans eye out for Fabian. Riz straight up brought a gun with him to school day one of freshman year, which even FABIAN, raised by Bill Seacaster the pirate, thinks is wild.

Riz was raised by a police officer and Adaine was raised by a pompous politician, so you'd think they would be more turned off of violence, but they aren't. They are both just genuinely a little off the wall and I love them for it. When I call them unhinged, I'm not talking about the Kristen trying to fly with a ribbon or the Fig "Hilda Hilda" way, I mean literally a bit more vicious than the rest of their party. This is also part of the reason I think they're such good friends. Usually this extreme violence doesn't come from nowhere- Biz wanted to kidnap Adaine and has been responsible for the dissapearance of 7 girls, Angwyn had literally just killed Aelwyn in front of Adaine- they both understand that sometimes the thing that makes the most sense or gets the job done the fastest is extreme violence.

Of course, all of the bad kids do. But Adaine and Riz specifically REALLY should not be considered the breaks/voice of reason in the group (funny thing is, a lot of the time that's Fabian, who again was raised by a lunatic pirate. Fabian stops himself from going too far with coach Daybreak, tries to stop everyone in the Biz interrogation, etc)

I can never be normal about the bad girls in fantasy high. Like yes, we love riz and fabian and gorgug and they've accomplished amazing things!

But just looking at kristen, adaine, and fig makes me so emotional. They really are the epitome of girlhood and best friends.

Kristen is the saint of mystery and doubt, the prophet who has seen gods, fought gods, and WON. The girl who point blank refused to settle until she found something that she truly believed in.

Then you have Fig, the archdevil of rebellion. The devil who took her anger and confusion and turned it into music and compassion. She went to literal hell and became the ruler of a whole dominion, and the first thing she did was try and help those under her care get their anger out in a productive way.

And then there's Adaine. Adaine, who was rejected from her school and family and community because of something completely out of her control, but still the greatest diviner of the age. She refused the title "the ELVEN oracle" because she doesn't belong to the elves, she's everyone's oracle.

So you literally have the embodiments of heaven, hell, and the connection between the stars and the earth.

Kristen, who Fig encouraged to leave her religion when it hurt her. Kristen, who was missing a pinky because Adaine took it to make sure they had a part of her when they had to leave her skeleton in the nightmare forest.

Fig, who is Kristen's polar opposite at the start and her best friend at the end. Fig, who Adaine immediately jumped to the defense of when she heard Jawbone mention her failing grades.

Adaine, whos parents Fig offered to kill after they abandoned her. Adaine, who had a conversation with Kristen about how glad they were to have a friend whos parents also sucked.

A little context before this story; my mom and I watch Danny Gonzalez together when we eat sometimes.

I recently told my mom a goal of mine was to publish my poetry book before I graduate. She asked why I don't self-publish, and I told her that chances are it would gain no traction if I did. We then had the following conversation

My mom: "oh you should send it to danny!"

Me, who knows no one named danny: "...Danny GONZALEZ??"

My mom: "yeah!"

Me: "mom you know hes a youtuber, right? Like he doesn't own a publishing company or anything??"

My mom: "he could post it though! I bet he'd do it too!"

In bio 112 and I love when I'm reading an article and it's like "yeah these bacteria are in YOUR gut and they're alive and they help YOUR microbiome!" Like babe you have little guys in your intestines too don't put this all on me

No one is obsessed with the Adaine-Gorgug friendship like I am. Gorgug gives very strong "no one can make fun of Adaine except me & I do it frequently" vibes. Adaine is one of the first people to protect Gorgug from bullying (in the first couple episodes she stops Ragh from teasing him in the cafeteria). Half the time when Siobhan makes a joke Zac is the only other one to hear it (and vice versa), so if you just watch the two of them you'll see them giggling to themselves for like half the episode.

Gorgug was born with the expectation that he will rage and be violent, but he was raised very kindly so he hates doing it (at first). Meanwhile, Adaine was born with the expectation that she would be nice and proper and poised, but she was raised in a way that was conducive to cruelty, and because she refuses to be callous like her parents she channels the violence into rage in battle. She helps Gorgug with getting angry and Gorgug helps her with staying hopeful and I love them so much
