Thankfully, the walk to the coffee shop was quick. Jongdae made a point of angling the umbrella to shelter the other man from the rain. “Ah! There it is.” He pointed with his free hand to a small sign over a doorway. “It’s a pretty unknown spot.” Grinning cheekily at Jongin, he bumped their shoulders. “Okay, in you go.” He opened the door for him, gesturing for Jongin to head inside.
It was a good thing that the café was close, who knew how much longer would Jongin have walk in the cold. ❝ Oh that’s good, I hope they have good tea t-though. ❞ He shuttered out softly before smiling widely as he bumps shoulders back. ❝ I just hope the employees don’t think I’m weird for coming in drenched. ❞ Taking a step in, Jongin looks around before waiting for Jongdae to come in as well. ❝ So what tea would you like? ❞

Upon seeing the younger come to his senses, Hyuna attempted to smile with sincerity. Not saying she doesn’t know how to– Yet she doesn’t as often do so. Once hearing his response to her presence she chuckled whilst handing him a glass of water. “You might’ve mistaken me for someone else maybe?–” She crossed her legs once again whilst sipping on the coffee which she had ordered during the time she had watched the other sleep. “Even if we were on a blind date– I doubt I’d be wearing ripped jeans and my brothers hoodie.” She laughed at her seemingly dull joke. “So what’s a student doing here so late on a school night? I’m sure your parents are worried about you.”

Oh. So if she wasn’t apart of the group then who is this mysterious woman sitting across from him? He laughs softly at the somewhat dull joke, but he was still a bit curious as to why she was here. ❝ Well, that’s true. But who knows, I know a few people who usually wear sweats out on dates. ❞ Jongin was a little surprised at first at her words. Did he really look that young for his age? Then again, he did get checked for buying a drink at the bar the other day. Shaking his head, he holds up his hand before clearing his throat. ❝ I think you’ve been mistaken me for someone younger. And my parents are like—at home in Suncheon. ❞
“People these days not letting you be nice without wanting anything in return.” Jongdae rolled his eyes, though he laughed as he spoke. “Okay, how about this. You need to get somewhere warm, yeah? There’s a coffee shop near by, buy me a tea and we’ll be even.” Grinning, he lightly nudged Jongin’s arm with his elbow. “Besides. I’m not a fan of rain, I wanna get inside so it’s a win-win.”
❝ I can’t help it. Usually I would think that someone would usually just keep walking, but you shared your umbrella with me and I am thankful for that. ❞ Jongin smiled widely as Jongdae finally gave into his request. Now he won’t feel as guilty anymore for taking their time away. ❝ Oh? A coffee shop, lead the way then. Maybe I won’t freeze to death too while we’re at it. ❞ He hoped that the sooner they get into the café, the faster he’ll dry up. ❝ That makes two of us. ❞

Strolling around the crowded streets of Gangnam, Hyuna had her hand buried into the depths of her pockets, eyes trailing across the street; sometimes making contact with a couple people here and there.
As per usual, the girl walked into a fairly empty cafe as a young man caught her attention. Leaning back in his chair, mouth slightly agape, eyes shut and head rocking back and forth. She chuckled faintly as she proceeded towards the other, slipping one hand out of her pocket; prodding her finger against his cheek.
“Student?– Probably.” Hyuna mumbled to her self with a prompt shrug. Out of curiosity, she sat across the slightly tanned male with her legs crossed and her chin resting onto the palm of her hand. Humming to herself, she sat up peering at the other. “How can someone so young have such defined features? Heol.” She scoffed whilst sitting back.
Jongin let out a soft sigh as he began to rub his temples. It’s been three days and none of his group members contacted him for the spring festival preparation. Though he spent a good majority of his time playing games, he did enjoy helping out his school with festivals or special events.
There he was sitting in an empty café, soft music playing in the background. If he didn’t know better, it looked like a scene in a melodrama. Maybe a famous actress or someone will walk through the door. Okay. He’ll wait for another hour and if none of his members would come, he’ll just have to nag at them tomorrow. Closing his eyes, he began to drift off while listening to the music in the background.
As he felt someone poke his cheek, Jongin let out a grunt as he continues to sleep. That was, until he remembered that he was in public. Opening his eyes and sitting up straight, Jongin rubbed his eyes a bit before focusing his attention to a young girl, maybe a few years older staring at him. ❝ Uhm— I don’t remember you on the list. Wait, is this a blind date thing? ❞ He looks around to see anyone else, but to his luck it was only the two of them and a few workers behind the counter.
“Please, don’t mention it. It’ll be my good deed of the day. Be nice to the next stranger you see who needs help and we’ll be even.” Jongdae laughed, eyes crinkling at the other man. “I’m Yun Jongdae by the way. I’d shake your hand but well…” He nodded down to the bags in the other man’s hands. “Do you want any help with those–?”
❝ Name’s Kim Jongin. It’s really nice to meet you Jongdae-sshi. ❞ Jongin attempted to smile a bit, but with the cold and basically his whole body being wet, all that came out was more shivering. ❝ Ah, no it’s fine. But I insist I have to treat you out to something you name your price and I might be able to do it. Please? Or else I’ll leave your umbrella right now. ❞ He knew he was bluffing, but Jongin couldn’t help but to feel bad for barging in Jongdae’s quiet walk.
[ @bondae ]
“Oh jeez!” Lifting up his umbrella. Jongdae immediately offered a place for the other man underneath it. “Come on, it’s pouring out, there’s more than enough room for the both of us! Come, dry off.”
Jongin regretted not bringing an umbrella with him to go shopping. Now he was soaking wet with bags of groceries in his hands. He knew if he asked a stranger they would quickly turn away and keep walking. Seeing a fairly young man walk by him, Jongin took the chance and walked up to him, quickly asking if he could share an umbrella with the other male. ❝ S-Sorry..I’ll treat y-you out of s-something. ❞ Jongin stuttered out as he kept a far away distance from the rain.
“ just try to guess the answer. ”
six-word sentences. - accepting!
Jongin wasn’t the best at studying for exams. Usually he would wait until the last couple of days and try to cram everything into his brain. Or at least he tried to. He thought it was smart of him to pull out two all nighters. Forty-eight hours of no sleep, what was he thinking? It sounded good in his head but by the third energy drink Jongin seemed to faint in the middle of studying in the library. At first people thought that he was just sleeping because it wasn’t rare to see people falling asleep on their textbooks. It wasn’t until an hour or two that one of his friends saw that he was sweating and fairly pale.
The next thing that Jongin remembers was waking up in a hospital room with an IV needle sticking out in his arm. He doesn’t remember how or when he fainted but the sound of someone greeting him brought him back to his senses. ❝ So how did I get here? I didn’t freeze a hundred years ago did I? ❞ He lets out a soft chuckle trying to lighten the mood. The nurse on the other hand, shook his head and pointed his pen towards his face before smiling at him. ❝ Just try to guess the answer. ❞ Oh. So he knew, well of course he was the nurse after all.
❝ Gotcha, I won’t drink three energy drinks in a row—Maybe two at most. Oh by the way I love your crocs, they bring out the color in your eyes. ❞

Café Celebrities || Boa & Jongin
Side glances at his screen were getting increasingly unsatisfying. She gave herself a pat in the back for doing only that up until that very moment. His online gameplay was nothing short of amazing and her curiosity urged her to look at what would be a live display of his skills. Not live in direct reference to time, but in reference to proximity.
Less than 5 meters from her, Kim Jongin, one of the top professionals in the gaming industry, was doing what he did best. Boa could hear whispers coming from the Internet café’s employees and its few regulars, speculating about the boy’s identity.
“Boy”, some would call him. He was relatively young, but she knew that even if some of his competitors could be half Boa’s age, others could also lean into their 40’s. He had his back to her, so he couldn’t really see her eyes half hidden by her book and trying to peak at his progress on screen.
She hoped against all odds that he hadn’t heard the small yelp of victory she let out as VICTORY flashed on his monitor.
This was it, the moment of truth. It’s been exactly fifty-five minutes and eight seconds as they were finally about to hit the nexus of the enemy team. He could tell that both the enemy and his own teammates were done with the game but neither side wanted to give up, both of them wanted to win. With all the effort he could muster up, his team finally aced the enemy.
Jongin was known to be a fairly popular streamer for the gaming community. He did go against professionals at one point in his life, he even had an opportunity to play with the LCK but he politely turned them down. As much as he would like to get a large payroll or traveling the world, there were some downsides like losing interest in playing it. He was worried that it would be more competitive then entertaining.
Kai. That was the name that many of his viewers and fans would call him. It was normal for this sort of thing to happen. Besides, it would be weird for people to say his real name in the comment section.
As the victory screen loaded in the front of his screen, Jongin let out a content sigh and leaned back against his chair. What a game. As he was about to get up from his desk, he heard a soft yelp that surprised him a bit. Turning around, he locked eyes with a girl who seemed to be watching his whole match.
❝ Hello there. I hope you enjoyed the match. ❞ He chuckles nervously as he scratched his nape awkwardly, not knowing what to say.

it was pretty early in the morning when luhan got in jongin’s apartment because well, they had made plans for today. more like jongin had gotten so into the idea of teaching luhan the secrets of gaming (because he was really freaking technically challenged, don’t even mention computers to him) and because luhan really had nothing else to do for the first half of the day, he had promised that jongin could do that and teach him some new stuff. he was eager to learn, it was just the fact that he’d be trying to win the other team. which will never happen. he wasn’t even sure was the game about killing the other team? all he knew is that somehow jongin made money out of it and he was very interested in seeing that. also interested in seeing how much jongin will hate him after 2 minutes of attempting to play a game. yes, emphasis on attempting. because like anything he’ll try can be called gaming.
because he’d be busy in the afternoon, luhan had told jongin to be awake in the morning so they can try it out, otherwise the dream of luhan playing anything or using a computer would be long gone. but luhan doubted jongin would be up at 8am to play some damn game. so when his roommate had let him in, luhan had quietly walked into the room, opening the door just enough to peek his head in like some comical character in a tv show, as to look around was he awake. he felt really rude to just open the door like this and barge in because the younger one was still very much asleep and looked like a sleepy mess, just like everyone did. his hair was messy, everything was messy but he didn’t look at that much longer when luhan quietly closed the door behind him, walking next to the bed. he stood there for a second or two, wondering how he should do this because he heard some people might throw a punch or two and he’d definitely lose to jongin in a fight, he thought to himself but then forgot about it when jongin started to move around.
“jongin-ah..” he started out first but because he was basically whispering, it did not do any good. after trying it a few times, luhan had realized that maybe his voice was so boring that jongin was only falling into a more deeper stage of sleep than he was just in now. luhan ended up rolling his eyes at his own stupid ideas and thoughts because honestly, they were getting more ridiculous by the minute. he gently patted jongin’s back, not exactly sure how to wake the other up so he decided to just pat him and speak. “hyung’s here! i’m sorry i’m waking you up- but you knew that i didn’t have the whole day to do this.” luhan’s voice was a bit more stronger now and he was leaning in a bit so he was speaking closer to jongin so at this point the younger one couldn’t just ignore his actions and words. he was deep down very happy. “good morning!” he showed the younger one a warm smile when the other’s eyes met his.
It was odd to him that he had so many…unique friends. Many would ask him questions like ‘did your parents know famous star managers?’ or something else on the lines of ‘are you one of those crazy fans who hang around stars?’ Unfortunately for those people, he was neither of them. He was just a simple student who streams on their free time. And some people might wonder where did he meet Luhan? Well, that’s something that Jongin would tell them eventually. He liked to hold back some secrets, it makes it fun to see people bother him and come up with strange stories that he would laugh to.
Finally it was the weekend. Usually he would spend time relaxing but Luhan insisted that he wanted to learn the mechanics of gaming. It wasn’t too hard, but that’s said more easily than done. After a long night of streaming, Jongin finally changed out of his “work” clothes and into sweats. It was too hot that night and even though the window was opened, he felt that he couldn’t sleep well if he was sweating throughout the whole night. One thing he did forget was to put up his alarm before Luhan came so he could get ready, but he was too tired and instantly fell asleep.
8:00 am
He could hear someone calling his name softly. Maybe it was a dream. As he continued to hear his name being called, he grabs the closest thing to him and hugs it close. It felt as if Jongin only had a few hours to sleep but the constant calling finally woke him up. Fluttering his eyes open, Jongin didn’t expect to see Luhan so close up, it almost scared him a bit because with waking up from his daze and also being half naked, he couldn’t help but to panic a bit as he tosses his pillow at him. ❝ L-Luhan, how did you get in here? Oh god, look away— ❞ he began to panic a bit as he tosses the sheets over himself almost comically. He didn’t care if his hair was a mess or the fact that he could hear his roommate laughing from down the hall. His brain was too slow to wrap around what was going on at the moment.
☙ Night Out I :: Juni & Jongin
❝ Do you know what you want to eat? Or do you want me to order for us? ❞
A bow was followed by another. The first was only brief and expressed how thankful she was toward her friend’s kind gesture. The second was more out of surprise and politeness. She hadn’t noticed the employee until she turned around and realized the probable collision. Fortunate it was that it didn’t happen.
Juni made a mental note to stop in her tracks in the future. A sheepish smile was directed to the auntie after they were assigned to their seats. Her eyes did not leave her though. Even with the sight of her back facing her, slowly shrinking and then fading after crossing the counter to go to the back of the restaurant, the young lady couldn’t help but stare at where she disappeared.
Should she make a formal apology? Why should she even make one to begin with? She wasn’t placed in a situation that required one. Perhaps her mind was playing tricks on her. Yet, she was certain her previous action could be seen as impolite. And like Mother used to tell her, do express yourself if you feel there is a need to clear any misunderstandings. But Juni never learned to find the right timing for that.
It was Jongin’s voice that brought her back to reality. A quirked eyebrow was shown along with a few blinks of confusion before she mouthed a sudden ‘ah’.
Despite not taking a single glance at the menu, the female simply gestured the other to take the initiative, a smile perched on her thin lips.
‘Go ahead. I do want to try what you will order.’
Hm, there were so many things to order today that Jongin had no idea where to even start. Eyeing the menu slowly, he takes a moment to pick the perfect foods for this type of weather. Even if they were inside, he wanted something to warm them up for the rest of the night.
He knew how spicy Korean food could get so instead of ordering something that might upset Juni’s stomach, Jongin made sure to get more milder foods. Calling the aunt over, he gives Juni a quick smile before pointing at the menu to order.
❝ Okay, we’ll have 떡꼬치, 순대, 핫바, and 붕어빵. Thank you. ❞ Once he finished ordering, he hands both of the menus to the auntie before turning his attention back to her. Jongin was thankful that there were sitting under a heat lamp or else he would probably shake throughout the whole meal. Something he wouldn’t enjoy otherwise.
Even though it had only been almost less than a week since Juni moved in, he felt that he could be very comfortable around her. However, there were so many questions to ask. Like how did she become mute in the first place or how what it was like being so far away from home. But at the same time, Jongin knew that he shouldn’t be so rude so he decided to wait for the right time to ask her these types of questions. He’ll wait until she’s more comfortable to talk to him about it.
❝ I was thinking that maybe afterwards we can go shopping to make the apartment all cosy. It seems that, from what I hear from my friends, it’s a little bit too bland. Maybe we can add a carpet or some plants around it. What do you say about that? ❞
“I’m not really sure if you’d like it,” he murmurs, “But there’s something about it that really appeals to me. Maybe it’s the fact that I’m not much a fan of anything too sweet.” After a moment, he realises he’s ranting about cola – and stops.
“.. Okay, but would I look hot? That’s the real question.” He questions with a laugh.
❝ Oh, have I mentioned that one time I tried one of those energy drinks for one of my streams but I couldn’t sleep for almost two days. Sugar makes me go crazy. ❞ The delivery boy comes and brings them their food. He quickly gives him the money before opening the box.
❝ Would you look hot? I think you wouldn’t look too bad. ❞ He mumbles off while staring at the box of chicken.
i was born a fighter; gatekeeper of an endless war where justice and revenge are dishes best served warm, where the lines between right and wrong don’t exist anymore - i am judge, jury, and executioner. i am the weapon that hands out the sentence i am the last thing you’ll ever see - but i didn’t want to be a fighter. i just wanted to be free.

(!!!) okay time to get off my lazy butt and do some replies.
