I cried over this yesterday. Thank you, from the bottom of my heart Mythopoeic Society for selecting THE CORRUPTION OF HOLLIS BROWN to be shortlisted for the Mythopoeic Fantasy Award!

I don't know how many of you know this, but The Corruption of Hollis Brown (as well as The Wicker King, The Weight of the Stars, Icarus and the forthcoming Ellie Ellie) are modern parables. I take my role as a midwestern folk artist very seriously and the mythology of my region is close to my heart.

Much like with LAMBDA, acknowledgement from the mythopoeic society is a career defining situation for me and I could not be happier.

this feels like a lukewarm take but i really love how it’s implied (if not outright stated, i can’t remember) that kevin was made to be so unlikeable in the eyes of the other ravens because if kevin is the bitchy diva then riko is the likable one. riko can be the reasonable one, can act just as annoyed as the rest of them, roll his eyes and act the victim. and having kevin be the “common enemy” gives them all someone to bond over hating yknow
