The blonde had work, like usual, and was dealing with things he didn’t ask for. It was quite annoying since this wasn’t his assignment to take. He had no choice because he had been doing these types of stuff for quite some time now. Archer should have just said no the first time, or many times after that first one, but it was the only way they (his friends and himself) could make enough money to help others.
Archer tapped his fingers against a glass table as he waited for further instructions, going into this one was a bad idea for himself. He was looking to take down someone he worked for once, on an assignment, but the person he wanted to take down had him on an assignment. There was no details at all.
It was dangerous, yes, but nothing was impossible for the blonde. He believed he could do it and that’s all that mattered, until his eyes landed on someone very important. His boss’ daughter.
No one knew her, except himself, he learned of who she was and the way she looked at him made him feel uneasy about this assignment. It confused him very much because there was no way this was a coincidence for the two. That look on her face, he could not forget that look.
The blonde stood and casually made his way over to the beautiful lady. He pretended to know nothing of the female, maybe if he made an impression on her she would leave. This place was not a good place to be at the moment. “Hello,” Archer pulled on a smile, “what brings a fine lady like yourself here?”
Her eyes remained on the young male to minimize the suspicion, but she was also busy observing her surrounding through her peripheral view. She heard a fight was to break out tonight. One of her father’s fourth in command was to be taken hostage as a way to find her father’s location and somehow overthrow his drug organization and facilities. That was the problem with the informants. It wasn’t an easy task. In fact, lots of blood and tears were going to be shed to only lead them further into hell. Her father was a ruthless monster. If unsatisfying words went back to him, he would show no mercy.
But him? He was the better ones.
“What brings a fine lady like yourself here?”
She cocked a brow at his friendly attempt, distracted by his gorgeous smile. Because damn it, why did he have to be good looking? Her gaze shifted away from him for a second while she created potential improvised scenes in her head. She had several options - she could fight him, threaten his soul with her sharp tongue, flirt with him, kiss him, or --
He did ask why she was here; her job was to remove this so called “Archer” dude, or so she thought his name was, away from the scene. Now, there were definitely missing pieces in the puzzle - but, she had to take it one step at a time. Whether he was affiliated with the deal or not, he was her bait for tonight.
She dropped down onto her knees. The pity show. Wasn’t that what girls did to receive attention? “My boyfriend told me to meet him. He told me there was a surprise.” She whined, pulling her heels off her feet and tossing them away while her eyes began to water. God, if she wasn’t born into the mafia world, she would have been such a great actress. “So, I rushed over to his place. And...and...I found him...and he..he broke up with... And I have an exam in an hour and I look like a mess. I can’t go to school looking like a complete -- “ She wiped another tear away. “And now my makeups all ruined too...” A sob story - classic.
Would he buy it? He better because it was the “gentlemen-like” thing to do.
“The usual, please.” Jade spoke up while digging through her backpack. Living the “undercover”, double life, one begins to accumulate a great load of disposable cell phones, and it was a bitch when everything would go off at the same, exact time. Thankfully, only one was going off at the moment. However; there was a rule in the underground community - do not exceed four rings. They would call it disrespect or a way to confirm when someone was in hiding and/or hiding something.
It wasn’t the case for Jade Yoon. In fact, she was waiting for a call. Didn’t know who or what, but her father had extended a message earlier in the morning about a deal she had to break. But, with at least 20 disposable cell phones in her backpack and in an open coffee shop; it was causing quite the problem. Luckily, she had answered the phone right on the fourth ring - but the party on the other line was not happy.
Without giving her time to settle or process the situation, the man on the other line exchanged the location, time, and party information within five seconds. Flustered, she grabbed the black pen from the counter and grabbed the first hand she could find. Not hers, but the stranger’s standing behind her. “Make that two.” She whispered to the barista before she jotted down the important information on the stranger’s hand. After dismissing the phone call, she forced the stranger to make a fist to cover the information written while dumping the disposable phone back into her backpack.
“You are coming with me.” She raised her gaze to the young stranger after paying for her orders. She handed an Iced Americano to him/her before wrapping her slim fingers around the stranger’s wrist and pulled him/her out of the cafe.
It always does Jinhwan good to get out of the hotel every once in a while. The place was always busy, and on the rare occasions that it wasn’t, it was just kind of boring. He didn’t work at the shelter today either, which could also add to the reason he was feeling so bored. So, Jinhwan finds himself in the small shop, toning everyone around him out as he waited in line. It works for a while, until his hand is torn from his pocket by the girl standing in front of him. He stays quiet, eyebrows coming together in confusion as he watches her scribble something down on his hand.
He takes the cup of coffee, still looking rather confused, but nonetheless he lets himself be pulled out of the coffee shop and out on the street. “I don’t even know you,” he says after a moment, pulling his hand away from the girl and giving her a strange look. Yeah, he was bored but not incredibly so to just run off with a stranger.
“I don’t even know you.”
He damn well didn’t, and yet here she was dragging him as if she owned him. To play off cool? Pretend and act like a drama queen - gasping and whining about how he didn’t recognize her and create an elaborate fake history? She released her grip as he pulled away, which brought her to rethink of her careless actions and demanding persona. This was often seen only when she was “working” for her father as an undercover escort. Because really, at the end of the day, she was just a sweet girl trying to escape her father’s hell.
She discreetly glanced down at his hand. “My friend called . . . “ She paused. “You see, I have this exam today and I have the tendency to forget things if I don’t jot things down. She was helping me out with a few exam questions.” Partial lie. She did have an exam, but the man on the phone was not her friend. “I didn’t mean to -- “ She paused again and nibbled on the straw. “I’m sorry for writing on your hand. I don’t think straight during exam days.” She continued to nibble on the straw before she gazed at the young male. “Could I take a picture, and would you by any chance have a pencil or pen I could borrow for my exam?” Why a pen? She needed an excuse to meet him again because one, she was not going to drag him into a deal scene and two, she needed to keep watch - to make sure he could be trusted.

“Hᴇʟʟᴏ.” Jade raised her gaze to the stranger with a welcoming smile and a friendly wave. Then, proceeded to look down at her occupied hand. Food. The ultimate solution to any awkward gathering. She held up two of her favorites - a bag of Andy Capp’s Hot Fries and a packet of Sour Punch Straws in the Blue Raspberry flavor. “Which do you prefer? Are you more of the hot and spicy or the sweet and sour?”
