idk what neurodivergent young adult needs to hear this but you are NOT supposed to give 100% at your job. I've gotten more promotions and raises since I started giving 40-60%, which my evil CEO uncle informed me is what bosses actually expect when they say 110%. My mental health has improved tremendously. I've spent 2 out of 5 workdays secretly writing my novel for the last 2 years and I've never been more respected and appreciated. Also--when you see glaring wasteful errors in the company's operating systems, say absolutely nothing! Embrace inefficiency. It is your friend in this capitalist hellscape.

A creepy government official Yangchen unfortunately has to brownnose invites her to a traditional dance. She only has a couple days to learn it—and who should know the moves but her longtime friend and companion, Kavik.
But with temperatures rising and personal space shrinking, both find themselves more than a little out-of-step.

[image 1: VD (interviewer): I'm guessing there were a lot of exchanges between writers about experiences they've had planning futures with significant others?
JW: A ton. One of the interesting exchanges was in Episode 4. The first Superboy episode was written by Saric "Sari" Cooper, who has a perspective on parenting from being a child who had a unique and difficult time with parents. And our head writer, Karen Graci, is the mother of teenagers. So, there was a lot of those two working out how we needed to show that experience between Lois and her son, Jon. There's a line to walk there. You don't want to tip too far in either direction because then we're either not being authentic to the character or we're making the character a monster. We really just decided to do everything hard all season long, and it was all very difficult.]

JW: There used to be Connor and Karen coming from the future in Episodes 9 and 10. And we were like, "No, that genuinely doesn't fit in the episode." One of the things you learn as a writer and as a producer is that if you can cut a whole thing out and it doesn't change much, it probably shouldn't have been there. And it didn't change those episodes too much to have those characters gone.
It was a fun, world-building thing to do. And we liked what it said about Clark and Lex, but we didn't need it.
And it allowed us to focus more on creating meaning with our core cast and our essential characters. Ultimately, the season was better for some of the things that we removed. It was hard the whole way through. But do you regret it, Brendan? I don't regret it.]

JW: I would still love to do that story with Connor.
Because for our show with our characters, a Lex-Clark hybrid baby just means something totally different.
